At the Library, chapter 4
Chapter 4
You made your way out the back door, and through the hole in the fence, where you had gone with Billie Joe and everyone before. You hoped maybe they were still there. Only you and Mike had gone back to the school, and the only reason Mike had gone, was to show you how to get back. You found your way back to Tight Wad Hill, and sure enough, everyone was still there. Amy was on Tre's lap, and he was playing with her hair, and Billie Joe was laying on his back, staring up at the sky, just randomly laughing. You plopped down beside him, and he turned to look at you, his eyes were glazed over, and he laughed a bit. "Fally Wally!!!"
"Nooo, dont call me that..." You whined. A frustrated Tre looked over at the two of you.
"Can you shut the FUCK up? I'm trying to concentrate here!" He glared at you both.
"Concentrate on what?" You and Billie Joe asked at the same time.
"I'm trying to remember how to make out, here!" He yelled angrily.
"You dont remember HOW? You have to concentrate on that?!" Amy giggled at him.
"Leave me alone, I'm high." He pouted at her.
"So am I, and I still know how." She laughed, before pinning him down on the grassy slope and kissing him. "Just like that, only with more groping."
He smiled, dumbly up at her. "Right, how do you do that again?"
You let the two of them continue their make out fest, and turned back to Billie Joe. "If you call me that again, I'm going to start calling you...William Joseph." You nodded, thinking that it would make a difference. You thought for sure that would bother him.
"Go ahead, my name is actually Billie Joe anyway, not William Joseph, just Billie Joe. My mom's from Oklahoma, and that's how I got the name. So I wont care, Fally Wally" He nodded, seemingly proud that his name wasnt short for anything.
"Fine!" You huffed. "Call me whatever you want, Beejay!" You snickered. "Your initials are BJ. Haha you're a blow job."
Billie Joe looked thoughtful for a moment, rubbing his chin with his thumb. "You're right! Beejay, I like. I like BJ's too..." You pouted once again, apparently you just couldn't win.
Billie Joe sat up quickly, startling you, and then looked as though he couldn't figure out why he'd just done that. His face crinkled up as he concentrated on trying to figure out just what it was that he was going to do. You glanced over at Tre and Amy, who were now also looking at a very confused Billie. "OH!" He yelled, "I remember!" He clapped excitedly. "No wait...I forgot again." He pouted at you. "What was I going to do?" You shrugged, and he frowned. "Well, you're no help..."
"I was supposed to go to cheerleading practice right now." You stated very randomly, earning very off looks from everyone. "What?" You asked, confused. Suddenly, Billie Joe was hugging you tightly.
"You blew off the bitches for me, I feel so loved!" He laughed, and you pushed him off of you.
"No, I just...I don't know. But I like it better here."
Amy snickered and looked at Billie Joe. "You really do need to stop thinking everything is about you." She turned to you. "You came back for my yabos, dont lie!" You laughed at the word, you weren't sure why it was so funny, but it was. "See, I told you, Fallyn wants my yabos!" She laughed. "No, but really, blowing off the preppy bitches, definitely a step in the right direction."
You nodded as though you could actually comprehend what she had just said. "YABOS!!!" You yelled randomly, as Tre and Billie Joe stared at the two of you, clearly not understanding what was going on. Not that you or Amy understood either, but hell, you were having a blast. After a fit of laughter, you collapsed on the ground, and just looked up at the clouds going rolling by. You definitely liked these guys better than the cheerleaders you had grown so accustomed to hanging out with.
You continued laying on the ground looking up at the clouds, you were vaguely aware that Amy and Tre had said good-bye and left, you were mostly just thinking about how much better your life would be if you could live it the way YOU wanted to, and not the way your mother wanted you to. For one, you'd have alot more days like this. You were going to get your ass kicked by the squad for not showing up, and by your mother if she found out you hadnt gone to a few of your classes. You weren't really sure how many you'd missed by now, but you knew school was probably pretty close to over. You watched yet another cloud, before a familiar pair of green eyes blocked your view. "Whatcha thinking about?"
You sat up, Billie Joe sitting and looking at you curiously. You may as well just tell him, maybe it would feel good to let it out, and it wasn't like some big awful story that you would bust out crying if you told, and it wasn't like your life was this big awful hole of pain, plus you were high, so you just didn't care about telling people things. "My mom." You stated simply. You knew he was about to ask more, so you opened your mouth and started telling your story. "It's like, she just...can't accept me for me. She wants me to be, I don't know, her. It's why I joined cheerleading. I know it sounds stupid, but I wish I could make her proud of me, just once. She's never been, and I just...I dont know, it's stupid, but I really want to make her proud, but at the same time, I wish I could just be myself, y'know?"
Billie Joe just nodded at you. "I get that, I mean, I don't actually deal with it, because no one really makes me do anything I dont want to do, also 'cause I'd tell them to fuck off and die, but still. I get where you're coming from, and it's not stupid. But maybe you can still do the cheerleading thing and make your mom proud while doing your own thing too. I don't know, maybe it's easier said than done, but I'd try to balance it. Like, I hate school, but I go because my mom really wants me to, but I also do my own thing too."
You just shrugged. "I dont know, it's like, I KNOW I shouldn't be living my life to someone elses standards, but I can't help it. Almost like, I'm stuck, and no matter what I do, I can't break free of it. Doesn't matter, really. It's not like I live some horrible life, so I guess I should be happy, I'm just sick of it. Sometimes I wish I could just break free from everything, move out, do my own thing, but I know it wont happen."
There was silence for a few minutes, and finally Billie Joe sat up and looked at his watch. "It's getting kinda late, school's been out for a good hour."
Your eyes widened. "SHIT! I have to get going...mom's gonna flip out"
Billie Joe just nodded. "I do too, there's band practice tonight. Maybe you should come by sometime, when you're not...you know, about to get bitched at." He smirked, and you pouted.
"Not funny, Beejay." He smiled at you and you rolled your eyes.
"Yeah, do you need a ride home or something?"
You shook your head no. "Thanks anyway though, but I dont live that far, and I'm sure if my mom saw me getting out of someone's car, I'd get it even worse, so...I guess I'll see you tomorrow." He nodded and smiled at you, as you got to your feet and started to walk off. You had thought right, just telling someone how you actually felt was nice.
****Billie Joe's POV****
I sat and watched Fallyn walk away. I'd lied to her about having band practice tonight, but talking to her had inspired me to write a new song. Smirking, I picked up my notebook, and started scribbling the words down as they came to my mind. I would show the song to the guys, and we'd write the music to it, and practice it as soon as we got the chance. I didnt know why, but I really thought it might make Fallyn feel better to have a song written about her, and maybe even inspire her to actually do something to break free. I didn't know, but just hearing her story had sparked the idea for the song.
