Whatsername, chapter 5
After Mike, John, Billie Joe, and Ann were finished performing at a club, they all headed to Ann’s best female friend, Lisa’s house to party. Ann stuck with Mike and John most of the time while Billie Joe wondered off. They were smoking pot and drinking some beers. “Hmmm. It’s been an hour and Billie Joe hasn’t shown his face ever since� She said. “I’m going to go look for him� Mike was stoned and his only reply was a mutter “ehmh eh meh.� She wonder off, pushing her way through the crowd searching the Kitchen, Living room, the bathroom, her parents bedroom, and found nothing. She started feel uneasy as she made her way to Lisa’s room. She turned the doorknob to find Lisa on top of Billie Joe sucking on his neck. She was shocked. Her heart started pounding.
“Oh my god!� She screamed. She covered her mouth with her hand. Ann couldn’t believe it. Startled Billie Joe shot straight up and got Lisa off him.
“Ann I-I� Tears started rolling down her cheeks. She felt like she was going to collapse. She back-up into the wall. She slid down until she was sitting in fetal position with her arms crossed up top her knees and her face buried in her arms. Billie Joe got up and grabbed her wrist gently. She flinched and jerked her arm away from him.
“Look, Ann I’m sorry I didn’t mean for this to happen�
“Oh sure you did Billie� Lisa said seductively.
She lifted her face from her arms. Her cheeks were cherry red and so were her eyelids; Tears were flowing from her eyes and over her lips. Ann looked like hell. She stood. Staring at the ground. He fists were curled up. She struggled to say between the hick-ups and sobs
“How-how-how could you!? You’re sorry my ass! I get my ass beating by that hell whore of a step mom and you go sleeping around like you didn’t have a care in the world?!�
“Ann I’m--“
“DON’T! JUST DON�T! I don’t need to take this crap!�
“Calm down!� he yelled defensively.
She slapped him as hard as she could across the face leaving his eyes wide-opened in shock. He didn’t say a word.
Ann stomped out of the room pushing every one out of her way and shoved opened the front door so hard it shattered the glass.
Ann felt someone put their hand on her shoulder. She snapped out of the memory. It was Billie Joe. He plopped down beside her.
“Hey. It’s been awhile hasn’t it?� he asked. She remained silent for a while then replied in a sigh.
“Yeah... it has� He had a guilty look on his face.
“Are you--“ She slightly raised her voice.
“No Billie! I’m not mad anymore.�
Mike came out holding a metal slinky.
“So Whatcha’ guys talking about?�
“Nothing� she replied.
“Okie dokie� Mike said “We better get ready for the show.�
