A Hurricane Of Fucking Lies, chapter 6
*Same Saturday, different point of view*
Billie Joe, Mike and Tre were sitting around the kitchen table, talking.
"I can't believe she would do do something like this. I mean it's one thing to have an affair, but she kept it from me. She could have just asked me for the money instead of stripped for it," spillied Billie Joe to his two best friends.
"So, does this mean the end of your marriage?" asked Mike.
"I don't think so. I couldn't bring myself to do it. I love her so god damn much. And the boys would be crushed. Joey has been through enought this year. First, he was outcasted at his school, only Mark and his girlfriend Gena stuck by him. Then, Gena dumped him the night before homecoming, so he went with Mark, who dragged him into the strip club where Adrienne worked. Then she told him the story before she fucking told me. And Jakob wouldn't be able to function without his mom," explained Billie Joe.
"Wow, I mean Estielle took the divorice really hard, she didn't talk to me for like a month, but she got over it. She just missed her mom and dad being together, but Joey went throught hell this year," said Mike.
"Joe and Jake are good kids, and they'll get throught this. How are they in school?" asked Tre, who was being serious, for once.
"Joey is a 'B' or a 'C' student. Jakob on the other hand is failing like 2 or 3 of his classes. He also gets in fights. Once he got in this fight with a girl because he wouldn't go out with him. He punched her a couple times, and Adi was more pissed off then I was. She gave him this lecture about abuser who target women go to jail, and that totally freaked him out." explained Billie Joe.
"Did they ever see like you and Adi like physically fight?" asked Tre.
"No, but they both saw that fight in 06'. They were both crying and all they remeber is me yelling, so now they have this thing about crying in front of me. They're like scared to cry in front of me. I think that really effects them," answered Billie Joe.
"Where are they now?" asked Mike.
"Jake's at a friend's house and Joey's up in his room. I grounded him for going to that strip club. He didn't even fight it, he just did as he was told. It felt so werid grounding him," said Billie Joe.
"Well, you're gonna have to get used to it, or else this place is going to be a mad house with Adi gone. Do you have problems with yelling at the boys?" asked Tre.
"No, sort of. I just think it's going to make them hate me," said Billie Joe. The 3 friends sat in an awkward slience for a while. Then Mike changed the subject.
"So, you still having that cookout?" he asked.
"Yeah, I told Joe and Jake they could bring anyone they wanted, except I told Joey that Mark was not allowed in my house," explained Billie Joe, "that poor kid is going to be so messed up.
"I have an idea, Billie. Put Jakob and Joey in school consulling. Trust me, it works," suggested Tre.
"Really? Ok I'll call the school," replied Billie Joe.
"You have to tell them why. You know, not in detail, but sort of an outline of the problem," explained Tre.
"Ok, consulting it is."
