A Hurricane Of Fucking Lies, chapter 7
Joey sat in his room the next day, Sunday, bored as usually. He wondered what Gena was doing.
"Shit, I gotta get over this girl, before it comes back and bites me in the ass," he said to himself.
"Joey, dinner!" he heard his dad yell from downstairs.
"Ok, coming." he answered. He walked downstairs and sat down, in his usually seat. Then he galenced over at Adie seat and felt tears come to his eyes. He quickly wiped them of and see if Billie Joe was looking. Sure enough, he was.
"It's ok, you can cry. I don't care. I cried when my dad died. I cried when your mom left a couple years ago. I cried in front of Mike and Tre yesterday. I cry, it's a normal thing to do," explained Billie Joe.
"I know, it just feels weird for some reason to cry in front of you, dad. I know that sounds weird, but it's true," said Joey.
"Why? Do I scare you or something. I'm not gonna fucking hit you or anything. Hell, you cry on my shoulder right now, and I swear I wouldn't give you a look. I'm your dad, and I love you," said Billie Joe, showing one of his rare mushy moments. With that said Joey cried. He cried for hours. He cried about everything that went wrong in his life. Gena. Adrienne. Mark. His friends. And recently, the realtonship with Jakob had been going downhill. They were fighting all the time.
"Well, I think you learned your lesson. I offically un-ground you," declared Billie Joe, and he put on a weak smile. In that one moment, everything felt like it was going to be ok, and they were right.
Joey slept good that night. He just had a feeling school on Monday was going to go well. And his vibe was right.
"Beep, Beep, Beep!!!!!!!!!" sounded Joey's alarm clock at 6 AM.
"Joey, Jakob, time for school!" yelled Billie Joe from downstairs. It amazed Joey and Jakob how he was up and ready by 5 AM. And how he was so perky.
"Dad, what are we going to do for lunch?" asked Jakob.
"Um, does your mom usually pack your lunch?" asked Billie Joe and both boys nodded.
"And she gives us rides, too," pointed out Jakob.
"How much is lunch at school?" asked Billie Joe, taking out his wallet and flipping throught the money he had.
"5 dollars," said Joey and Jakob in unsion. They both laughted.
"Holy shit, that much?" said the shocked Billie Joe. They both nodded. He handed them both $5 and got out the keys. All 3 of them walked out to the car, and Billie Joe drove them both to school.
