What? I Can Dream Too..., chapter 7

"Yeah...you do that." Mike obviously wasn't listening again. "Hang on. WHAT!?"
"Why are we in there?! What did we do?!" The panic was rising, no one was quite sure why though...how bad could it be?

"Hang on, hang on. How can I tell you if you won't give me a chance to find the page." Tre seemed to be the only calm, sane one left in the room, well, theres a first time for everything. Tre flicked through the magazine quickly, opening it across his now crossed legs. A double page spread revealed two huge pictures of the four of them leaving the hospital that morning.
"Damn, they were quick with that..." Billie Joe was leaned over Tre's shoulder, reading the words printed in the centre of the pages under the pictures.
"Rock and Roll Girlfriend?

Who's this hanging out with International Super-rockers Green Day (Do ya see what we did there?!)? And more importantly, what have they been doing to her? These pictures, taken this morning, show the mystery girl, who seems very attached to bassist Mike Dirnt with a broken leg and arm. Apparently the rock and roll lifestyle doesn't match some people...Just one thing, make sure you get a t-shirt that doesn't clash so badly with your plaster cast next time."
"So helpful." Hannah muttered sarcastically as Mike sat looking ever so slightly confused.
"How have they got that she's my girlfriend?"
"'She' is still in the room Mr Dirnt..." Hannah shot a warning look at Mike.
"I know - but us going out would be weird...you're like one of us-"
"That makes us sound like a cult or something Mike..." Billie Joe looked up from the magazine, joining Tre in stifled laughter at the look on the other two's faces.
"I don't get married to you, I get drunk and moon people with you...you know what I mean right?" Mike looked questioningly at Hannah, bringing more laughter from Billie Joe and Tre.
"Yeah, it would be like marrying your sister or your best mate or something." both Mike and Hannah shuddered at this thought while Billie Joe and Tre laughed even harder.
"You two have the filthiest laughs ever. Shut up!" and with that Mike grabbed one of the cruches that had been lying against the edge of the sofa and poked at Billie Joe and Tre randomly, leading to a mass tickle fight between the three of them.
Twenty minutes later and all four of them were lying face up on the floor, staring at the ceiling. No one spoke for a while, until the sound of Hannah gently snoring filled the room.
"Christ on a bicycle, its only 10:30...what on earth was that stuff they gave her?" Mike's muttering joined the snoring, making the room seem a lot louder.
"I dunno, but we should probably at least put her on the sofa at least...she'll only get a sore back otherwise."
"Yeah, I'll take her upstairs, can one of you open doors for me?"
"Yeah, sure."
"I'll make some coffee or something. Anybody else want anything before I go and play on the computer?" Tre was being vaguely sensible for once, which surprised the two who were still awake.
"Yeah, make me a coffee. Billie Joe, do you want anything?" Mike called across the hall to Billie Joe who was already on his way upstairs to make sure it would be easy enough to get Hannah up to her room.
"Ummm...yeah, I'll just have some OJ thanks." Billie Joe called back down stairs.
"OK. Did you get that Tre?"
"Yeah, OJ for him upstairs and Coffee for you. Got it." Tre wandered off towards the kitchen as Mike bent down and picked up an almost comatose Hannah, carrying her up to her room and putting her into bed, before heading back downstairs to drink his coffee.
*-*-Next Day-*-*
No one woke up before midday, the guys hadn't gone to bed until well into the early hours of the morning and Hannah was showing no signs of life, having not even moved since Mike put her to bed the previous night.
Mike was woken around 1 in the afternoon by the phone on the cabinet next to his head ringing loudly. He rolled over, trying unsuccessfully to ignore it before realising this was an impossible task.
"Hmmmm..?" Mike grunted into the phone, trying to sound vaguely awake.
"Hello. This is Lynn. I assume you and Hannah are still coming this afternoon."
"Yes, yes, we're just leaving now." Mike had suddenly woken up.
"Good. Well, we'll see you later. Bye." The phone cut out before Mike could reply.
"Shit!" He muttered into his pillow as he rolled over. Eventually he got up, grabbing a pair of jeans, the sort that designer shops call 'sandblasted', and a vaguely clean t-shirt and heading across the hall to Hannah's room.
"Hannah...you've got to get up sweetie..." Mike gently poked at Hannah's shoulder.
"No I don't."
"Yes, you do. We have to go to your aunt's house, she just rang and we'll have to leave as soon as you're up and dressed. I'm sorry."
"OK. 'snot your fault. Can you give a hand, I'm not sure how good my balance is..."
"Yeah sure."
Twenty minutes and breakfast later and Mike and Hannah were on their way to Hannah's aunt's house for a fun-filled afternoon of bitching and explaining that being a musician was a plenty good enough way of earning a living.
Fun fun fun!
