She's A Mystery, chapter 2

Mike, Billie Joe and Tre were still standing there when the ambulances arrived, they were asked questions but the shock was just too much and the answers were poor, they walk back into the house it was now 5 am, they were all white as snow still not understanding, they go upstairs not wanting to be alone so all cram into one bed

Tre: 'I can remember the last time we did this'

Billie Joe and Mike burst out laughing, Tre always knew how to lighten the mood whether he meant to or not, it goes silent and within a few minutes they were all asleep
Mike is the first to wake up

Mike: 'Good morning my little children... '

Tre and Billie Joe grumble, Mike giggles and tries to go downstairs without stumbling, which he manages, he goes into the kitchen grabs some orange juice walks out into the living room and turns on the T.V then it hits him, he goes back into the kitchen

Mike: '... Holy shit'

Tre and Billie Joe walk down the stairs and see Mike standing in the doorway to the kitchen

Billie Joe: 'Mike... dude you're in the way'

Tre taps Billie Joe on the shoulder and gestures to the kitchen table, he gulps seeing the ghostly figure sitting at the table with the newspaper in her hands, smiling at them

Tre: 'What the fuck... what was that beer?'

She giggles; they jump back

'It's ok... I don't bite'
Billie Joe: 'Yeah but you're fucking dead!'
Mike: 'Get out my house'

She pouts

'Ok... I'm sorry... I was just trying to be friendly'
Tre: 'What by scaring the shit out of us... I can't believe this... I'm actually talking to a dead person'

She gets up seeming really upset; she walks to the door

Mike: 'Hold on... if you're dead shouldn't you float'
'I didn't think about that... I don't think I can'
Billie Joe: 'That sucks'

They think about what they were actually saying and couldn't help but laugh

Tre: 'Ok... I think we're just having a psychotic moment... we've been under a lot of stress lately'
Mike: 'I agree... Billie what you doing?'

Billie Joe walks up to her wanting a better look, he goes to poke her

Billie Joe: 'Ewwww'
'That will teach you to poke people without asking'

Billie Joe wipes off the gooey substance on his boxers

Billie Joe: 'This is so fucking confusing'
Mike: 'I need coffee'
Tre: 'I second that'
'Can I have one too?'

They look at her, for the first time she seemed really innocent which brought about the question, why did she jump in front of that truck?

Mike: 'Um... yeah sure... if you can drink it?'

Mike puts the juice back in the fridge and pours the coffee before sitting down with the rest of them; they couldn't help but look at her as she stares at the coffee

Tre: 'What's wrong?'
'I can't smell it'

It goes silent

Billie Joe: 'Um... maybe you have a cold'
'I don't think so'
Mike: 'Well... uh... try and drink it'

She goes to pick up the mug but hesitates

Tre: 'Go on'

She touches and is able to pick it up

Mike: 'I guess you can't believe all movies'
'Yeah but... I can't feel it'
Tre: 'Well at least you won't burn yourself'
'True... '

She lifts it to her lips; they watch her intently

'... I can't taste it'
Mike: 'That sucks... I'm sorry'
'It's ok... it's not your fault'
Tre: 'Um... can I ask you something?'
'Sure'
Tre: 'What's your name?'
'Oh silly me... my name is Sophie... Sophie Kalis'

They go to shake her hand but stop

Tre: 'Oh I don't mind getting gunk on my hand... I'm used to it'
Billie Joe: 'Tre!'
Mike: 'That was so inappropriate'

Sophie giggles reaching for his hand

Tre: 'Oh... I was looking forward to that'
Billie Joe: 'How comes he didn't get gunk?'
Sophie: 'Maybe cause he was polite about it'

They all laugh
