Why Does Love Have To Be So Complicated?, chapter 1
As they closed the concert with the last chord of Homecoming, we all cheered for the best band in the world. Of course, it was Green Day. Ashley, Rachael, and I had backstage passes to the best time of our lives. We actually were about to talk to Green Day!! As Billie Joe, Mike, and Tre walked over to us, we couldn't be still. It seemed as though we were the only people back there; and we were.
"So did you like the concert?" Billie asked me.
"Yes it was the greatest concert in the world", I replied.
I couldn't believe it. Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead singer of Green Day had actually asked me a question. It was like all my dreams had come true. I had lived my life to its full purpose, even though I was only 22 years old.
I looked over and saw Rachael talking with Tre and Ashley talking with Mike.
"So, do you want to head back to the tour bus?" Billie asked again.
"Um, sure. Are Mike and Tre gonna come, too?"
"No," he said, "They seem too busy talking with your friends."
"Ok. Lets go!" I replied
As we walked to the guys' bus, the thought hit me. I WAS GOING TO BE ALONE ON A BUS WITH BILLIE JOE!!! I wasn't thinking anything could happen seeing as he was married, but you never know. I kinda hoped it would. But nothing too intimate, you know?
We sat down on Billie's bed and talked for a while.
"I've liked you for a really long time, ever since I bought my first Green Day cd. I know pretty much everything about Green Day. I always thought you were the cutest out you three." I told him.
"Oh really? Everything?"
I nodded my head.
"Then when's my birthday?"
" February 17th, 1972." I said.
He asked me a ton of questions amazed at how much I knew. We were laughing and cracking up about every little thing at that point. We were so drunk it wasn't even funny. Then he stared me in the eye.
"Billie? Are you OK?" I asked him.
"Yea..I just realized how beautiful your eyes are"
"Oh..um... thanks then."
Slowly he moved towards me. Was this really happening? Was he about to kiss me? Then I felt his hands on the back of my head. We shared a deep long kiss. It was the best moment of my life. When he pulled away, I wiped my lips with a smile.
"Wow." I said.
I was speechless. I couldn't believe that had just happened. When I turned around to see what Billie was staring at. I saw Mike, Tre, Rachael, and Ashley staring at us, their jaws dropped.
