A Halo Of Despair, chapter 1

She lay on her bed, motionless. No one around. She was glad. It was raining down on the empty streets. It made her more happy to see the rain. She started to sing warily, "I'm o-only hap-py when it r-rains." Being alone is not as bad as it seems in her life. She had no one. No one to love her, to care for her, to even listen to her feelings. But she seemed glad anyway. All she had was the music in her soul to keep her alive. She put on a CD. The CD was Kerplunk. In an hour she would start walking to the big Green Day concert. It was five in the morning. She got up and got dressed in a gloomy sort of look. Applied the rainbow eyeliner which stood out, because everything else was black. She grinned as she walked slowly on down the street. When she reached the concert auditorium is was 6:30. And she sat beside the massive building as a giant tour bus pulled up. Several men walked out and it stopped raining. She smiled so wide that her face shone with brightness. One of the men asked her, "Why are you smiling?" "Because no one loves me," she replied cheerfully. "Uh, is that any reason to be happy?" the man questioned. "No," she said happily. "And who might you be?" she asked. "My name is Billie Joe Armstrong," he answered. She turned to look at him. "What is your name?" Billie Joe asked. "Dagger," she replied, still smiling. "Well Dagger, do you wanna come inside the building or sit out here for hours?" he asked. "I'd like to come in," she said. So she got up and followed him into the building where they met one other man. "Hey Tre, this is Dagger," Billie Joe said as he introduced her. "Whoa, nice eyeliner. Could you show me how to do that?" Tre asked. "Oh, yeah, this is Tre, our drummer," Billie Joe said." I know who you guys are," she said confidently. "Ok, ok. I guess we don't need introductions then," Billie Joe said. "Where the hell is Mike?" Tre asked Billie Joe. "Calling his girlfriend," Billie Joe replied. "But enough of that, let's go get some Starbucks." "I'll go tell Mike he's gonna miss the coffee if he doesn't hurry his ass up," Tre chuckled. "Ok," Billie Joe said.Tre left to go find Mike and Dagger and Billie Joe walked outside again."Where's a Starbuck's around here?" Billie Joe asked her. "There's one around, like, every corner. You'll find one." "Don't you want to come with us?" he asked. "Well, sure. But I'm not getting anything," Dagger replied. Tre and Mike came out of the building and they all got on the bus and drove off to find a coffee house. Dagger sat alone as she usually does when anyone's around. She sits away from everyone. "Who are you?" Mike questioned as he saw Dagger, with her multicoloured eyes and black outfit. She didn't answer, she sat there staring at him. "Uh, hello? Are you gonna answer?" he asked. "This is Dagger, Mike. She doesn't talk much," Billie Joe replied. She still stared at him, with her eyes wide. "Uh, well, ok then," Mike said uneasily. When they got to the Starbucks and got their coffee, lots of people were there. Dagger felt awkward because she didn't like busy places like these. So she went outside and sat on a nearby bench. The three came out of the store as some costumers followed, asking for their autographs. Then they saw her sitting alone. "Come on, let's go. We have to practice," Billie Joe said. They went back on the bus. Dagger continuing her staring at Mike. "Ok, I've been cool about this for a while now but WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU STARING AT ME??!?" Mike yelled angrily. She didn't think he would ever get this angry. So she looked down, staring at her black and white striped socks. "Dude, calm down, alright? She's cool," Tre said. She spent the rest of the day sitting backstage and listening to the songs and laughter of everyone. A tear rolled down her cheek. At 7:00 people started coming outside of the audtorium. Radio station vans were parked outside and lots of people were there waiting in a long line to see two great bands preform live. Another band was backstage too. My Chemical Romance. They too questioned why a crying girl was backstage. They talked to her and cheered her up. The show started off with a bang. The drunken rabbit came onstage and everyone cheered. After My Chemical Romance exited the stage, the crowd went wild. Green Day came on and played all of Dagger's favorite songs and when they started to play 'Give Me Novacaine'. Billie Joe announced, "This song goes out to a lonesome girl who's crying right now, and I bet she feels like she needs some novacaine." When she heard this she got up immedietly. The song was almost ending when she went onstage unexpectedly. Billie Joe kept singing, "Give me a long kiss goodnight and everything will be alright. Tell me Jimmy that I won't feel a thing, so give me novacaine." And after he sang those last words she was at the edge of the stage she turned around and looked at the band, spread her arms out like she was Jesus on the cross, and fell into the crowd...
