You Can Tell Me Anything, chapter 3
*Kats POV*
After i got into the hosue i decided to hurry up and get ready. You never really know with Billie and Mike. Some times they're not up till 2 or 3 in the afternoon and some times they're up at the crack of dawn. All I could hope was that they hadn't already been over and saw us on the trampoline. As i got in the shower I was trying to decide if I should talk to Megan or Mike first. It didn't take me long to decide that i had to talk to Mike. He was the smart one. I don't know why but I trusted him. I always liked to talk to him more than any of my girl friends. Most of the time Mike knows what you're thinking before you even think it. So i decided to talk to him. I finished my shower, did my hair and make-up and was looking through my closet when i found myself thinking 'Would Tre like this?" Oh man is this whole thing giving me a head ache!
*Tres POV*
I walked into my house with my hands still shaking. I never ever ever get this way around girls! Kat had been one of my best friends for so long now. Damn this is gonna mess everything up. I can't wait to talk to Mike. I wonder what she would say if i asked her out. I know her best friend is like in love with me...but i don't know Megan has always been more like a sister. The thing with Kat and i is that we kinda needed each other...with our families being gone alot. I don't know what i'd do if i asked her out of she said no. Or worse if we started going out and then broke up. Shit what am i gonna do!
*2 hours later*
*Mikes POV*
It was like noon when Billie woke me up and reminded me that we had plans with Kat and Tre today. I groaned but got up. I walked down the hallway and reached the phone to call Kat. It scared me a little how fast she picked up the phone. I let it slide though.
"Hey Kat...whats up?"
"Oh hey Mike...nothing what about you?"
"Same as always. So what do u want to do today?"
"You know me I don't really care so just talk to everyone else then call me back and tell me when to be ready."
"Ok Kat i'll talk to you in a little bit"
"Kay...bye Mike."
Then I hung up. She sounded kinda jumpy but i figured it was becase she'd been home alone all night. I sighed and looked over at Billie Joe who was trying to make something to eat. I asked him if he wanted to call Tre cause it was always hard to talk to him on the phone...he always ends up dragging us into some stupid conversation. Billie gave me a Yeah-right look then turned back to the fridge. I sighed again and dialed Tres number. He answered fast too, now i was really starting to wonder. He pretty much said the same stuff as Kat. I told him to meet me, Kat and Billie for lunch at Burger King. He said ok then hung up. I called Kat back and told her what was going on then went back up stairs to get ready.
*Billies POV*
Within 45 minutes we were all sitting in Burger King with our food. Something was different today. And i knew it wasn't just me that had noticed, Mike kept givving me the 'Do-you-know-what's up?' look. After we ate we decided to go back to Kats house sense hers was the biggest. Plus she had a pool. We all went home got our stuff and headed back to Kats. I could tell by the look in Tres eyes that there was something going on between them. Usually he was being stupid and cracking jokes, but today he was....dare i say it....normal.
*Kats POV*
We swam for a while then everyone was ready to eat again so I asked Mike to come help me. He nodded and followed me into the house. As soon as we where in the house I started to tell him everything. I told him the whole story...starting with Megan and how much she loved Tre and ending with what had happened last nigh. The whole thing took me less then 5 minutes. I could see that he was a little taken back by the whole thing. He stood there staring at me for a minute before laughing.
"Mike!!" I yelled. "I just poured my heart and soul out to you and you're laughing at me!!" he smiled but stopped laughing, giving me a small hug and promising to talk to Tre. I flashed him a small smile and thanked him. We then had to hurry to throw togeather a few sandwitches so they didn't wonder where we were.
*Tres POV*
I thought about talking to Billie Joe about everything sense Mike had gone with Kat and I wasn't sure how much longer I could keep this all inside. I started to say something but stopped myself. Billie can't really be trusted. I mean he's a great friend but he can't keep a secret to save his life. I sighed and told myself that i'd just have to wait for Mike. I rolled over on my raft just as Kat and Mike where walking out of the house. Something about her had changed...i wondered what her and Mike had been doing. Was there something going on between them...that's it. I have to talk to Mike NOW.
