Drenched In My Pain, chapter 7

I woke up in a small cramped room, in a house I was unfamiliar with, I was laying in a short single bed still wearing my drenched clothes so I cant have been there that long. I felt uncomfortable lying in a wet bed in a foreign place, I sat up quickly - to quickly and I felt dizzy and a women, older than Billie Joe was sitting beside my bed in a wooden chair, and I wondered what the hell was going on.

"Ah your up" said the women politely and I was a little confused how long had I been sleeping? seeing the confusion in my face the women introduced herself

"I'm Anna, Billie's sister"

"Oh" I say running my fingers through my hair pushing it out of my face onto the top of my head and Anna kept talking " He brought you here about a day or two ago" I looked worried, he'd gone? and I'll never get to thank him?

"Don't worry" Anna said

"He said he'll ba back in a week" I relaxed, then Anna kept talking

"He left me with money, to buy you clothes and food and stuff " she shifted in her seat and said carefully

"Um..he told me your story..and well he said, that's why he brought you her, Liz, your staying here, for good, with me" this all came as quite a shock and I muttered under my breath.

"Oh my god", more to myself than anything I just couldn't believe this was happening, I was speechless, if this was a dream, I didn't want to wake up. Just thinking about what my new life could be like made me dizzy, I turned to face Anna, so my legs were dangling over the side of the bed I look at her, I didn't say a word but she understood I was asking if she was sure and she nodded and I smiled the first real smile that I seemed to have forgotten how to do. Anna looked at me then said

"Oh. Billie left this for you." She stood up and walked over to a small desk in the corner and opened a drawer and pulled out a small dark wooden box covered in carvings she looked at it then handed it to me, sitting back down to watch. I took it gently and softly touched the wood with my fingertips I looked up, she nodded and I gently opened it. The inside was lined with velvet and there was a small piece of paper about the size of a CD folded in the middle of the box, I picked it up gently and unfolded it curiously, and what I saw brought tears to my eyes - but different type of tears. In the center of the paper written in big open letters was a single word:
"Hope"
