Another Boy, Another Love, Another Heartbreak, chapter 6
Without warning Tre' leaned in and kissed me tenderly on the lips for the second time. I pushed him away and ran. I needed to get away from all of this. Billie Joe had gotten beat up by one of his best friends because of me! I couldn't do that to him. I had to have time to think things over. I found a tree over at the other end of the school and tears started to drip down my face. Why was this happening? Then I heard something behind me. A boy was looking at me from the other side of the tree. He was staring.
"TAKE A PICTURE IT'LL LAST LONGER!" I shouted at him. He didn't flinch but only kept staring. I got up.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"DOES IT LOOK LIKE I'M OKAY!?!?" I yelled. He looked down.
"No." He said quietly. "Sorry." He apoligized. I could tell he was one of the preppy type with his blue lettermans jacket and the tan pants.
"Just leave me alone." I said wiping the smeared eyeliner and mascara from my eyes.
"No." He said. "What's wrong?" He asked.
"Why should you care?" I asked.
"Who did this?" He asked.
"It's none of your buisness!" I shouted.
"I don't care." He said calmly. I slightly grinned in spit of myself.
"It's nothing. It's stupid really." I said. "It's just. I like this guy Billie, and his best friend Tre' likes me and I don't like him. He kissed me and I pushed him away, that was yesterday. And today he beat up Billie cause Billie kissed me and I kissed him back. And then, get this, Tre' tries to kiss me AGAIN!" I said. "But then again I don't know why I'm telling you this." I said looking down.
"Hmmm." He said as if he was figuring this out in his head. "You like Billie but not Tre'?" He asked.
"Yeah." Just then Billie came around the corner and spotted me.
"Kailey are you okay?" He asked running over to meet me. I looked back for the boy but he was already making his way back to class. I started to cry again.
"I'm so sorry Billie Joe." I choked out thru my tears.
"For what? You didn't do anything." He said. I cried harder. "Hey," He said. He wiped my tears away gently with a hand. "You didn't do anything." Said Billie.
"I'm the reason f- for all of this. He- he beat you up cause of me." I choked out. Tears were pouring down my face. He wrapped his arms around me and I cried into his shoulder.
"Kailey I..."
