Don't Do This...., chapter 12
Billie Joe fixed his tie one last time before joining the rest of the guys in the living area of the hotel room.
"How do I look?" He smiled and did a spin. Mike laughed and Tre whistled.
"Sexy!" He said and Billie Joe walked over to the two of them. "Tonight's important guys... We got to go and win those god damn awards!" Billie Joe said and Mike and Tre cheered.
The year was 1998 and the guys were heading off to the vma's. They were up for nominations but the most important one was for the song that Billie Joe wrote about Claire. They had released it earlier that year and it was a major hit.
Billie often wondered if Claire had heard it and if she had did she recognise it from the day of her parents funeral.
They got in their new car and headed to the venue... Tonight would be an interesting night!
Turns out that Green Day won every thing that they were nominated for and they were now all half pissed at the after party.
Billie Joe walked through the crowd with his head high in the air. He was so proud of the guys at this moment. He showed everyone that nothing could keep him down. He got a few congratulations on the way to the bar and all he did was smile.
"3 Jack Daniels" He said to the barman and leant up against the seat next to him.
Billie Joe was watching the crowd go by when he felt a tap on his shoulder.
"Sir your drinks.." The barmen said and Billie Joe smirked and handed him the money.
As he was walking away he banged into someone and ended up spilling the drinks over her judging by the dress.
"Oh shit... I'm so sorry" Billie Joe said as he looked up and when he did he could of passed out. There stood Claire.
"Claire!" He smiled and then she recognised who it was. "Oh my god Billie!?" She said and accepted the hug that Billie Joe was offering. Billie felt so good having her in his arms again. "I'm really sorry Claire... I wasn't watching were I was going... Come on lets get you cleaned up" Billie Joe apologized and took Claire's hand in his. He took her into the bathroom and brought some tissues with him.
"Bill you know you shouldn't be in the girls bathroom!?" Claire pointed out and Billie just shrugged.
"I know but whatever! Oh god I ruined like a perfectly good dress!" He was so embarrassed. "Hey its ok... I should of been watching were I was going." Claire replied and started to clean her dress.
"Sooo... How have you been?" Billie Joe asked when Claire had finished cleaning her dress. "I've been good.. Yeah... How about you?" Billie Joe sighed and looked into the far corner of the restroom. How could he tell Claire that he was madly in love with her? That's when he noticed the engagement ring on her finger and Billie Joe could feel his heart break in two. "I'm better... Uh so your engaged?" He managed to say and Claire looked down at the ring on her finger.
"Yeah.." She said and Billie Joe nodded. "That's the reason I'm here actually... Uh my fiancé Paul is the manger of some new band called 35 degrees. They were up for nomination so that's why we were here." She finished.
"Look... I got to tell you this before we go our separate ways... I'm so sorry about what happened before and.. I.. I will never forgive myself for ruining our only chance. I am madly in love with you Claire but I blew my chance. I fucked up. Like always and I just wanted to apologize" Billie Joe said with tears coming to his eyes. Claire stepped forward and wiped a tear from his cheek.
"Please don't cry Billie. I hate to see you like this" And as soon as she said it Billie Joe had his lips against hers. Claire kissed back before pulling away.
"Bill I can't I'm getting married.." Claire said and Billie Joe apologised again.
"I'm so sorry look I'm just going to go.." He said and headed towards the door when Claire grabbed his hand.
He turned around and Claire kissed him...
