Too Much Too Soon, chapter 12
"It couldn't possibly be them," and returned to eating his sandwhich. He looked up again at the men, and one of the men turned around. Billie and the blond-haired man caught each other's eye. The man quickly turned his head, and the two men began to walk faster. Billie threw the 20 on the table, slid out the booth, and ran out the restaruant after the men. The two strangers began to run as well. Billie ran on one sidewalk, as the other men ran on the sidewalk opposite his. Billie and the men were dodging people as best as they could. A huge bus sped into Billie's view, and once the bus passed, the two men were no where to be found. Billie crossed the street to find the men. He looked in the shops, allies, even the restroom's in the stores. Luck was not on his side. He could have sworn that the guys were his old friends, and if they were, they wouldn't run from him, would they? Sure, Billie was a walking threat, but they would stay loyal, right?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------After Billie's wild chase, which he considered his work out for the day, he walked back to his brother's house. It was around 4 o'clock when he entered the house. He heard shuffling in the kitchen, and suddenly took great caution. A dark shadow was moving around in the kitchen, and Billie peered through the kitchen entrance. The man casting the shadow and Billie both screamed at the same time. Billie grabbed a frying pan nearby, and the man grabbed the coffee pot. Billie began to laugh,
"David....you kill me sometimes, you know that? You fucking scared me!"
"Sorry, I thought I'd come home early. I felt bad leaving you home alone."
"Hahaha, nice choice of a weapon, what were you gonna do to me with that?!"
"Shut up! It was the closest thing near my hand! Good thing you weren't an intruder, I woulda thrown this at you, and then what would I do? No coffee pot to make my coffee!"
"HAHAHA!"
The two sat in the living room discussing Billie's options as to what he could do. After two hours of conversing, the phone rang. David said he would answer it, just in case it was the men trying to find Billie. David answered and began laughing.
"Why hello, Mr. Wright," David was closest friends with Tre out of the band members. Tre's father would call David, every once and a while. Mr. Wright spent a lot of time with Tre and David, "Yes, well, didn't you hear the news about Tre?"
"What news?" Mr. Wright asked.
"Here, Billie knows more about it than me," and handed the phone to Billie.
"BILLIE! AYE! Haven't heard from ya in a while. How are ya?"
"Umm....fine, thanks. So, you haven't heard anything about Tre?"
"Hahaha, well I did call to ask how Tre was doing. Wondering if you two had hung out together reccently. He hasn't called in a while."
"Well, I know why."
"You're making it sound as if this is a life-death situation that we're talking about!"
Billie couldn't believe he didn't know about Tre's death, so quickly he said,"Tre's dead, sir."
There was a second of silence, and Tre's dad said casually, "Dead you say? Mhmm, where are you getting your news?"
