Too Much Too Soon, chapter 14
Billie's eye grew big and he stood up from the bed. "WHAT ABOUT HER?"
"Her water broke, I think it's--"
"I'm on my way."

"Billie?" Mr. Wright asked yawning.
"Adrienne... Baby... Gotta go..." and he raced out the door and got into the car.

Billie wished he had taken some caffeinated drink before he left. He was still tired, but he drove as fast as he could down the highway. Finally, he reached the hospital and drove to the emergency area. He ran into the building, found out Adrienne's room, ran into the doctors who made him wear the appropriate clothing, and led him to her. Adrienne did not look happy, and she wasn't happy either when she was in labor with Joseph. Billie groaned as he had to live through hell again, but only for four hours. That morning, his son was born. A sweat covered Adrienne craddled sweet baby Jackob in her arms.
"He's beautiful," she smiled.
"Yeah, I love you."
"You too. I've missed you. I wondered whether you'd make it."
"Of course. I wouldn't miss it for the world."
Adrienne held baby Jakob as Billie wrapped his arm around Adi and talked to his son. However, he began to worry about Joseph. He felt guilty for worrying about his own problems more than his son. As if Adri could read his mind, she said,
"I'm sure David and the authorities are taking care of finding Joey."
"Yeah, you're right..." but his voice didn't sound convincing.
"Are you leaving again?"
The way Adi put the words made him feel guilty for not staying with Adr.
"Oh, I'm sorry Billie, I didn't mean it like that..."
"It's alright. Though, I don't know what's next, but..." and he told her about Tre. She gasped, and wanted to ask so many questions, but the nurse came in asking Billie to leave. Adi needed her sleep, and she needed to take the baby to the nursery. Billie and Adi exchanged hugs and kisses. Billie stroked his newborn son's head and kissed him, hoping that he'd be alive to spend time with him. Billie walked down to the lobby to find his so-called 'protector' standing by the door. Billie walked passed him and the man followed.
"What do you want?" Billie asked as they stood in the dark with the howling wind.
"What are you doing back?"
"Look, my wife just had--"
"What did I say?"
"This is my son we're talking about!"
"This is his life, your life, and those around you, if you don't be careful."
Billie gritted his teeth, and reached into his jacket trying to find a weapon.
"Don't think about it, Mr. Armstrong. I am serious more than ever. You need to get out now."
Billie ignored him and walked passed him back into the hospital to show him that he didn't care. The man in black stood in the darkness alone. When Billie entered he saw a smiling David.
"You'r son... My nephew... Wow!"
"David! The man's outside!"
"Who?" Billie grabbed his arm and dragged him outside, but the man had disappeared.
"I swear, he was right here!"
"Awww, we just missed him. Hey, c'mon let's go home. It's late."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As Billie and David drove up into the driveway, they noticed that the house lights were on.
"That's odd... I could have sworn that I had turned off all the lights."
Billie's stomach felt as if it were doing flips. When they got out of the car, Billie motioned David to creep up to the living room window. When they looked through the window, they heard the tv. Suddenly, the door to the house swung wide open...
