Too Much Too Soon, chapter 20
Billie saw his brother hovering over him as he lay on the dirt ground.
"Aren't you strong...you're not dead yet. You're lucky I only had one bullet," David said in an evil tone to Billie, and turned away.
Billie tried to speak, but his throat closed, and the words wouln't come out, but after a minute of trying he, was able to say, "Why?"
David heard, and walked back toward's Billie's bloody body.
"Why?! Oh sweet brother. You always were the apple of everyone's eye! I had to live in your shadows! You were Dad's favorite! Mom did everything for you! I worked hard and graduated high school and went to college! YOU?! You dropped out, and for what?! To start a damn band! Now look at you, a celebrity, a star to the whole world! And what am I? Ha, I'm just part of the crowd," he said sounding as if he were crying.
"David......you are great...."
"GREAT?! You said so yourself earlier, what good have I done?! All my hard work....for nothing! I hate you, Billie!" and he kicked the dirt in Billie's face.
Billie's eye lids began to grow heavier and heavier. David kneeled down to Billie and gripped his head, "LISTEN TO ME!" he said in a sharp whisper, "I was the one trying to kill you."
Although Billie's face couldnt' show emotion, he was surprised out of anyone that his brother would be his killer. Billie gathered his strength to ask, "Then....my...faaaaamily....the...men..."
"I don't who they were or what they did with your family! Like I told you at the cafe, I wanted them out of my way! They were postponing your death, and were actually making it better for you! I wanted to get at your trophies: your friends, wife, and children! After you're gone, I'm gonna go find them! I lied about this road trip! I have no idea where your family or those men are! I just made it up as I went! Clever, eh, brother?!"
Billie was lost for words, and could not speak anymore. His eyes closed.
