Too Much Too Soon, chapter 3
The site was too hard for Mike to bear, as he slumped into the passenger seat. The driver was covered in blood, and sat motionless in the seat. A bullet hole was found from the windshield in front of the driver. Mike looked out the windshield to stop looking at the corpse, but only to find himself in more alarm. He was looking down at the river! The bus was hanging off of the bridge! As he rose and ran to the back of the bus, he screamed, "We're on the edge of death... LITERALLY!"
"WHAT?" Billie said, and quickly looked out the side window, to see the scenery slanted, and the bus tilting slowly but surely into the depth of the river. He could then feel the floor the bus becoming a steeper and steeper hill. Billie looked at Jason who looked back at him, then down at Tre. The two quickly got a hold of Tre and ran to the back of the bus where the emergency exit was located.
"I'm trying to get the emergency door opened," Mike said.
"Here let me help!"
"Me too!"
The three tried to push the door open, but it wouldn't bluge.
"Did one of you guys put that bar over the exit?" Mike asked, and the two shook their heads.
"We've gotta break the window and climb out. We got no choice," Jason said shakily.
Billie ran into his luggage to pull some things out. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WE'RE GONNA-" and the bus titled more. Billie was not going to leave "Blue" to sink to the bottom, and strapped it around his back. He then threw Mike's bass against the glass, and Mike looked at him, "OH! Just use MY instrument!" The window broke, and the chilling air whipped at their faces. Tre still laid motionless on the floor, and Mike tried to manuever him, but couldn't.
"How are we gonna deal with Tre?"
"You two get out and wait for me to hand Tre to you through the window," Mike said.
Jason quickly climbed through the window and tried getting a grip on the slippery roof. As he looked around, a crowd had begun to gather, and he heard the sirens on its way. Billie climbed out next, and Jason held his hand to help him gain balance. Mike dragged Tre to the window, and began panting, "I told you not to eat so much Tre!" A helicopter flew over head, which actually caused Jason and Billie to slip a little. Billie held out his guitar for Tre to hold on to, then he remembered that Tre was unconcious and wouldn't be able to hold on. The bus tilted more, and was on the edge of tipping over. Jason grabbed a hold of the rescuse rope from the helicopter, and shouted at Billie to grab on. Billie was stuck on a decision: go with Jason to get better help for Mike and Tre, or try to battle it out on the roof of the bus...
