Too Much Too Soon, chapter 6

A bang could be heard from the inside of the white van. However, no one heard the shot since they were on the highway heading towards Berkeley, CA.

Billie began to pack his things, and walked over to the police station a flew blocks from the hotel.
"Mornin', Sir! You feelin' any betta?" the policeman asked with a hint of an odd accent.
"Um, yeah fine, say... Do ya think you could help me out?"
"Why sure! My son loves your band! OH! I'm terribly sorry, I forgot about the-"
"Nah don't worry about it, so, tell me, you gonna help me?"
"Yes, Sir."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Billie took a stroll down the bridge one last time. The railling had broken off from the weight of the bus, and left a big gap in the bridge. It was exactly how he felt, a great gap in his heart. The clouds covered the sun that day, and Billie looked up at the dark clouds that swirled above him.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Thanks so much chief."
"Anytime, Billie, anytime."
"Here, give this to your son," and gave the chief a letter addressed to his son.
"WHY! He'll be a happy boy!"
"I'm sure, oh and thanks again... For the ride to the airport."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Billie walked up the familiar drive way where he once stood with Adrienne. He remembered the first time they saw and bought their house:
"Billie, I like this one alot."
"Do ya?"
"Mhmm..."
"Say the word, and it will be yours."
"Oh Billie, don't talk like that!"
"What? I'm serious! I promise, this house will be yours. I promise."
A promise he did keep, and he remembered the surprise and joy on her face when he secretly bought the house for her on her birthday.
"Can I open my eyes?"
"Do you wanna ruin your surpise, Adri?"
"How long is this trip?"
"Not very long."
"Oooh!"
"What?"
"I felt Joseph kick."
"Hahaha, that's my boy."
Billie parked the car and quickly ran around the front to open the door for his wife. He took her hand and led her out of the car, and wrapped his arms around her.
"Billie! Are you gonna show me anything, or what?!"
"Open your eyes," he whispered in her ear.
Her eyes opened to reveal their sparkle.
"Welcome home, Adri."
She gasped and began to cry. Turning around to face Billie, she kissed him and squeezed him.
"Happy birthday, and cheers to a new life in a new home!" Billie said with a wide smile.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was dark as he walked up to the gate, which was wide open. He walked through and quietly closed it behind him. He saw the beautiful house, but only to find all the lights out, but he didn't think too much of it, for it was already midnight. He forgot that he had lost his key, and lifted the doormat for the extra key, but there was no key there. He scratched his head, and instinctively tried to open the door. The door swung open with ease. He raised an eyebrow, beginning to feel suspicious. Before he could do anything to defend himself...
