Too Much Too Soon, chapter 7
Before he could defend himself... A happy wife thrust herself on his back.
"OMG! BILLIE!" she yelled and squeezed Billie around the neck.
"You fucking scared me!"
"Oooh, I'm sorry. But as if you didn't scare me?! You're home earlier than I expected! I thought you weren't coming home until October!"
"Oh yeah, why don't' we sit down, and talk. It's been crazy," he said tiliting his head toward his wife.
Billie explained eveything. He decided to do as the villains said, and take matters into this own hands. Tears filled Adri's eyes. She leaned her head against his chest and buried her face there.
"I don't believe it!"
"Adri, I can't undstand a word you're saying if you're talking to my chest!"
She smiled and looked up at him, "I don't believe it. It can't be true!"
"Well, it is.."
"JASON! OMG! What about him?!" she quickly said and pushed away from Billie to look him in the eyes.
"He was gone! I don't know if he left or... Oh no, what if those men captured him?!"
"Billie, we're gonna get those-"and quickly stopped before saying inappropriate words.
"Daddy?" three year old Joey whispered from the stairs.
"Joey!" Billie said and opened his arms. Joey ran and embraced his father. His father craddled his son in his arms, and the three of them sat the couch together.
"Billie, it's September..."
"Yes, I know. I mean, you're getting an extra month of me this year!"
"Our boy is due this month."
"WHAT?!" Billie jolted, nearly waking up the son in his arms.
"Shhh..."
"Sorry. A boy! Wow... September?" He found it ironic that his son would share the same month of his father's passing.
"You found out so late about the baby. I mean you called me a few days ago about this. Is the baby gonna be okay?"
"Billie, I knew a long time ago! I just didn't tell you earlier because I didn't want it to distract you from your touring and your band-"
"I wish you told me sooner!"
"Well, a little suprise then, hey? What should we name him?"
"Johnny."
"No, no, no!"
"Hmm..."
"Jakob, with a 'k'," Billie exclaimed.
"O0o0oh, I like..."
"Danger!"
"What?" she looked at him.
"Jakob Danger Armstrong," Billie said proudly, and Adrienne gripped his arm tighter and smiled.
"I should get a turn at naming our children, you're the one who chose Joey Marciano!" Billie said.
Billie froze as he thought he heard a car motor running outside the house.
"Do you hear that?" he asked.
"Yeah. Since you already have a hold of Joey, why don't you put him back up to bed? I'll see what's going on."
"No! It's too dangerous."
"Since when have you known me to be scared?"
"Ha ha, I know you're not scared, but you're risking your life and our future son!"
"The biggest risk I took was choosing to marry you!"
He laughed and gave in. Gently rising from the couch, he lifted Joey and sprinted up the stairs. Adri quickly ran to the kitchen to grab a gun, that she hid in a high kitchen cabinet. She crept to the front of the house, and raised the gun. Billie laid Joey down, then he heard a woman scream and a gun shot go off!
