I told Brittany to get out of the car and that I would be right back. I told her to wait outside until I got back. I drove off with Tre and Mike with me, and we went to a guitar shop. I quickly got the best guitar they had there and Tre, Mike, and I got back into my car and drove to my house. On the way back a car crashed into mine and my car flipped over. Mike, Tre, and I couldn't move, couldn't talk, couldn't do anything because there were other cars ontop of my car and beside it. ***
I waited outside like my dad said. I couldn't wait for him to come back home! I want to go inside but I have to listen to dad. Then my mom walked outside an knelt down beside me.
"Brittany...Your dad won't be coming home tonight..." She told me.
"Okay. I will just see him tomorrow," I said.
"No Brittany...Your dad was in a car crash and...and...and he passed away. Same for Tre and Mike." She said crying. Tears filled my eyes. I knelt down by my mom and gave her a hug. Then Amber and Micky came outside.
"Amber! Micky!" I said. I got up and gave them a hug, still crying. Amber and Micky were too.
"I am sorry, Brittany," Amber said.
I just walked inside. I wanted to be alone. It was my birthday and I had lost my dad. I ran into my room and locked the door. I turned on the TV and the news was on. Then I saw my dad's car. I saw my dad Tre, and Mike. My dad had blood all over his arms. He had a huge cut on his face too. Then all of a sudden he started to move and the camera man came up close to his face and he said "Happy Birthday Brittany. Help your mom out with your brothers. I love you." Then he shut his eyes. I felt more and more tears coming down my face. This was the worst birthday ever, but it was the best too. Then a news person started to talk.
"This is the end of Green Day. If you are a Green Day fan please bow your head and lets all have a moment of silence," The announcer said.
I bowed my head down. I knew a lot of people were doing the same. Then all of a sudden I heard people singing. They were singing "Good Riddance". I looked outside of my window and the whole neighborhood had candles and they were singing.
"Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road. Time grabs you by the wrist directs you where to go," I sang along with them. "So make the best of this test and don't ask why. It's not a question but a lesson learned in time."
Then more and more people joined in. Soon hundreds, maybe even thousands of people were in the front yard singing, "It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right. I hope you had the time of your life."
I started to cry more and more. Then I saw my mom, Amber, Micky, Joey and Jakob walk outside each with a candle in their hands and they started to sing too. I didn't want to go ouside and sing with them. I will sing from right here. If I go out there with them and sing it will make me even more sad. Then I saw something. It was a bright light. then all of a sudden my dad appeared.
"Dad?" I asked.
"Brittany? I am sorry I ruined your birthday," He said.
I went up to him and cried.
"It is okay," I said with tears down my face.
"Tre and Mike are here too," He said.
"Where?" I asked. Then I turned around to see Tre and Mike.
"Happy Birthday Brittany," They both said in unison.
Then they disappeared.
"Why did you leave? Why did you have to go?!?!" I asked screaming.
Finally I laid in bed and cried myself to sleep.
