The Disappearing Boy, chapter 1
It was May 4, 1992 and a band called Green Day stepped off of the stage at a local club called Gilman Street. Stepping outside, Mike, Tre and Billie Joe loaded their things into their van and headed back to the door into the club to see a few more shows and then head to a party a few blocks away. It was Mike's birthday and a party seemed to be a good way to enter his 20's. Although the blue eyed bassist had been 20 for over 2 hours, it still seemed like fun. A girl that looked to be the same age as him sat on a step next to a few other people by the door. Mike leaned against the van for a few seconds trying to catch his breath from helping Tre with his drums. He glanced over to the girl and studied her face. She was very pretty and Mike got the thought to go talk to her. He told his band mates he would be in the club soon and walked over to the girl and sat in the empty spot next to her on the step. She looked over at him for a few seconds then looked back to watch the cars drive down the street.
"I'm Mike," he said.
"Uh...hey Mike. I'm Crystal" Mike nodded in a 'nice to meet you' kind of way and looked back at her.
"How long have you been coming to Gilman for?" he asked trying to start a conversation.
"Not very long at all. A few of my freinds told me about it so I thought I'd come at least once and it was a lot of fun," she answered. "Aren't you in one of the bands that plays here? I'm pretty sure I've seen you up on stage before," she asked.
"Yah, I play in a band called Green Day. We just played a show and after this we're gonna-" He was cut off by the sound of Billie Joe's voice.
"Mike! Lets go," he shouted as he and Tre walked out of the building and to the van. Mike looked over to the two and got up off of the step.
"Well Crystal, I'll see you around," he said waving goodbye.
"Yah Mike. Hope to see you again some time soon," she said walking away from Mike. They packed into the van and drove off to the party.

It was now 12:00 in the morning and Mike was far from sober. The house with the party was really small and there had to be over 70 people in it. It was sticky and Mike found it hard to breathe so he walked out. He planned on staying the night there because he knew his freinds and him shouldn't be driving. Walking down the sidewalk, he saw a blurry figure in front of him. It was further down the street but he wanted to follow it. Jogging a little, he caught up far enough to tell the person was female and that they had long black hair. He tried to get a good look at her face but she had a hoodie on and was trying to run away from him. Walking faster, he noticed it was the girl he met at Gilman. Crystal.
