The Disappearing Boy, chapter 2
"Hey Crystal!," shouted Mike. She turned around and let out a small sigh.
"Hey Mike," she said in a small voice. "What are you doing out here at this hour? ''
"Taking a walk. I was at a party and wanted to leave for a few minutes," he answered. "Wanna go hang out?"
"Uh... Sure" They walked further down the street until they reached a small park with a few benches. The two sat down on one and stayed quiet for a minute or two. Mike couldn't help but stare at her. He thought she was beautiful. Looking closer, he noticed her face was red and puffy like she had been crying... A lot.
"How old are you, Mike?" Her voice broke him out of his thoughts. "19- I mean 20 since now yesterday. You?," he asked.
"Same" She looked back at him and into his blue eyes. She could get lost in them, thinking they were just amazing. Crystal turned and looked away from Mike. He wondered why she seemed so nervous.
"You okay?," he asked. She bit her lip and looked back at him with sad and dark eyes. The pretty green eyes that Mike saw earlier were now gloomy.
"Yah, I'm fine." Mike rolled his eyes with a smirk and looked back at her knowing she wasn't fine. "Its nothing, Mike. I don't think I should tell you either. After all, we met about four hours ago and you shouldn't have to worry about me and my problems yet." Her sad smile brought one to Mike's face.
"True, but that doesn't mean I don't care," he replied. She looked away and bit her lip again. "It's nothing," she said. They quietly sat there for a while, watching the cars drive by. Mike enjoyed the time he spent with her. He didn't know much about her at all, but he liked her a lot.
"I should go now, Mike," said Crystal as she walked away from him.
"Okay. See you around," replied Mike. "I hope," he said softly. He got up off of the bench and started on his walk back to the party. He wasn't so drunk anymore but he was sure Tre and Billie were so wasted that they couldn't see straight.

The next morning, Mike woke up at around 10 with a small hangover. Getting up off of the dirty, stained floor, he walked outside and back down the street. He was looking for a Dunk 'n Donuts or something like that. All he needed was his coffee and donuts. As he walked further down the street, he walked past the familiar park that he and his new freind, Crystal were at earlier that morning. He looked at the bench they sat at and remembered staring at her beautiful green eyes.
He reached the shop and walked in. The air in the building blowing on him. Since it was May, California was getting a bit hotter. Mike got his coffee and donut and sat at a table. He kept thinking about Crystal and how he wanted to spend more time with her. He also wanted to know what was wrong with her and why she was crying earlier. Taking a sip of his warm drink, he shrugged the thought off.
Mike arrive back at the tiny house to find Billie Joe and Tre awake.
"Lets go," whispered Tre. Mike nodded and Tre tipped over a guy sleeping on the floor. Billie Joe and Mike tried not to laugh but after he did that, he got up, looked at the guy and bumped into a wall by the door. They shut the door behind them and walked to their van parked on the street. They got in and drove to their house that they bought about a month before.

"Mike? Mike! Earth to Mike!," shouted Billie. Mike broke out of his deep thought and looked at Billie who was busy doing something.
"Yeah?"
"Can you get the damn phone?"
"Uh... Yeah. Sure," said Mike as he got up off of the piece of crap couch. Billie Joe rolled his eyes as Mike picked up the phone.
"Hello? Yeah... Okay... Yeah I'll tell him... See you soon then." Mike hung up the phone and turned to Billie. "It was Adrienne and she said she just got off of the plane and she is gonna get a cab to our house," he said. A huge smile spread across Billie Joe's face and he continued with what he was doing. Adrienne was Billie's girlfreind but she lived in another state so it was hard for them to see eachother. They were always in and out of their relationship. Billie was just waiting for her to say it was over and never talk to him again, although it would make him angry and upset, he wouldn't be surprised if it happened. Mike sat back on the couch and soon after, he fell asleep.
The doorbell rang and Mike got himself off of the couch. Billie Joe opened the door and Adrienne walked through. They hugged for a few seconds and then kissed.
"Get a room!," shouted Tre. "And Mike, I don't know if you'd be able to come," he added. Mike turned a bright red. He was caught watching the two hug and kiss. But the weird thing was, he was thinking about Crystal and not ADrienne or even Billie. He was thinkig about Crystal for most of the day, too. Mike shrugged it off and looked back over to Adrienne who was walking towards him.
"Hey Mike," she said as she gave him a hug.
"Hey and sorry about me watching you and Billie"
She smiled and walked into the kitchen.
"Hey Mike," she said in a small voice. "What are you doing out here at this hour? ''
