The Disappearing Boy, chapter 20
About another three seconds passed and the party just started again. Billie kept dancing, and Tre kept doing whatever he was doing. The two stepped away from the front door after Mike shut it and began roaming, looking for something interesting that would catch their attention.
"Mike!" called Adrienne from the kitchen as she grabbed a drink. She didn't have any luck getting Billie off of the table.
Mike quickly turned around and walked over to her. "Yeah?"
"Who's that pretty girl you came with?"
Mike's cheeks went red. "Um, just an old friend. Why?"
"Well, I found someone that wanted to talk to you," she replied, nodding her head in the direction to the dining area. Mike quickly turned around again to see a pretty, blonde girl who looked to be about 27 or so. She say in a black chair, just staring at him wit these beautiful blue eyes. They gazed at each other a few seconds until Adrienne called his name and poked him in the face.
"Do you wanna go talk to her? I'm sure she'd be very happy if you did."
"Um, I dunno I-"
"Just go do it!" said Adrienne, and she shoved him over in the direction of the young woman.
Mike sat down in the chair next to her. They sat there quietly for a while, watching the party...and Tre streaking through the house.
The woman giggled a little bit and looked over at Mike who was staring at her. She smiled, as her cheeks grew red. Really red.
"Hi, I'm Mike." he said, getting his hand out of his jean pocket for her to shake.
She took his hand and gave it a gentle shake, like she was nervous or something like that. "Nice to meet you Mike. I'm Sarah."
"Sarah," he repeated. "I've always liked that name."
She giggled again. "Thanks. I always thought it was plain and boring. And a very common name."
"Well, I tried."
Crystal walked through the hall, into the dining room, mainly looking for Mike. She wasn't having such a fun time and kinda wanted to leave. She quickly looked around the room, finding Mike talking to Sarah. That just ruined her night, seeing those two talking and having fun together. She thought she had another chance with Mike but, oh well. What did she expect? Her eyes wondered over to the kitchen archway where Adrienne stood, talking to Claudia, Tre's ex wife. Thinking she'd try to enjoy the rest of her time at the party, she walked over to the two ladies and basically jumped into the conversation.

After about two hours, the party got dull and most of the people left. Mike and Sarah were still talking, drinks in hand and Crystal was kind of sitting in the corner with Adrienne, also talking. Tre and Claudia had left 10 minutes before and Billie crashed on the living room floor.
"So, are you and Mike...um, going out or anything?" asked Adrienne with a sweet smile.
Crystal sighed and looked over at the two who were now sweetly kissing each other on the cheek. "No. I just ran into him yesterday, since it's like, 2 in the morning now, and he asked me to come with him to the party. No big deal."
Adrienne stared at Crystal for a while as she stared at her drink and swirled it around in the glass. "Do you wish you were going out with him?"
Crystal paused. She hadn't really thought about it all that much, but knew she wanted it that way. Hearing the question just made her stop completely and look at him again. "Yeah," she whispered softly.
"Hmm..." Adrienne replied, watching the two blondes laugh and talk.
"I should go now. It was nice talking to you Adrienne. Say hi to Billie and Tre for me." said Crystal as she quickly got out of her chair. Adrienne watched as she walked through the door and jumped to her feet, running after her. When she got outside, she saw Crystal on her cell phone, probably calling for a cab. Adrienne ran over to her and hung up the phone. "Don't act like that. You can stay here for a night. I don't want you to take a cab home when you're like this and Mike won't be able to drive you two home, he's had too many drinks."
Crystal looked up at her. "Thanks," she replied. The two women walked back inside the house.

Mike woke up the next morning somewhere he had never been before. He was in a bed with pretty pink flowers on the sheets, light pink walls, and more girly things lying around. It definitely wasn't his house. An arm flew over him and cuddled him.
"Morning," said Sarah.
