Just Peachy, chapter 1

'God I hate transferring school, these stupid rich fuckers are going to suck worst than the other ones. Why do I have to be stuck in the shit? Ugh...' Saria thought as she half jogged half ran to her first day at her newest school located somewhere in Berkeley California, where exactly? She wasn't completely sure yet, but if she didn't find it in the next 10 minutes she was late anyway so why make an effort? Unfortunately Saria came across a group of kids all heading in the same direction and decided it best to follow, and sure enough she found herself standing in from of Berkley High, how sweet.

Finding her way around was relatively simple. She couldn't really remember her first block, but she was now heading to her second and her high was wearing off. 'Damn, that was weak shit.' she thought as she pushed the door to her second period class open. It looked as if most of the class was there and there were four empty desks in the far back corner. Saria lazily set her bag down and had a seat in the empty desk the teacher claimed free. She had just started dozing off when she her the door open and the teacher start to nag,
"Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Pritchard, and Mr. Wright! Where may I ask have you been to make you ten minutes late?!" Saria looked up to see three punks in the front of the class. She noticed all of them smirk as the one proclaimed 'Mr. Wright' answered the teacher,
"Well Mrs. Punt. I must say yes, you may ask and We are terribly terribly sorry for those ten minutes we missed. Because you know how much we LONG to be in your class, if there is anything we can do to make it up we would be greatly happy!" After stating all of this in a very obnoxious, in Saria's opinion, British accent, which she usually found very amusing, he bowed to the teacher and turned to go with the other to his desk.
"Oh Mr. Wright, you know very well I get enough of you three in this class alone. There will be no need to do anything to make it up, just don't miss again!" With that Mrs. Punt turned back to her papers and started doing whatever it was she was doing before. As the three boys made their way back to the three desks around Saria, she attempted to begin her doze again. But right as she started she heard a loud clank of metal followed by a almost as loud "SHIT!" Lazily Saria looked up to see the shorter blonde haired punk catching his balance. He smiled goofily as he looked up, locking eyes with Saria. 'Wow, he looks as stoned as I wanna be...' she thought before smiling weakly into those hazy green eyes and closing hers again.

Sitting in his desk Billie Joe nudged Mike,
"Hey, new girl?" he asked nodding over towards the girl he had just locked eyes with. He stared as a piece of her sun lighted brown hair fell off her shoulder.
"Yeah, Tim said she's really fucking cool." Mike replied looking down at her ragged jeans that she had obviously walked the bottoms off of.
"She is cool." Tre butted in pointing to her messenger bag she had dropped beside her desk which was now dumping all her stuff onto the floor which contained a pair of nice drumsticks that had been decorated and were now rolling under his desk. Thoughtlessly he picked them up twirling them on through his fingers.
"Nice."
Billie Joe nodded, "I guess we'll have to get to know her."
Tre stopped twirling as he noticed a name,
"Saria Juliet Love. Fucking awesome name."
"Cool." Mike said doodling on his desk.
"What was it?" Billie Joe said zoning back in to what Tre was saying.
"Saria Juliet Love." Tre repeated a little bit louder.
"Huh? What?" Saria said sleepily looking over at whoever was talking to her.
Tre turned and flashed her a cheeky smile,
"Mornin' Star shine!"
Sitting up Saria let her large chunk of blue hair fall to the other side of her face.
"My name's Tre. Nice to meet you." Tre said still grinning holding out his hand.
Saria half-heartedly smiled back and shook his hand. 'Damn he has a strong grip.' she thought pulling her hand back. Mike grunted as if reminding Tre Billie and himself still existed.
"Uh, Oh yeah, and this is Mike and Billie Joe." Tre' said pointing them out as they smiled.
"Um, hello..." Saria said still tired. Pulling her hair up in a scrunchy she had on her wrist she did her best to wake up and have a conversation that this Tre kid was pushing for.
"So you play?" Tre asked handing Saria her drumsticks back.
"Oh yeah, a little." she replied stuffing them back into her bag. As she moved about picking up her random things that had recently tumbled out of her book bag Billie Joe noticed her bracelet clinking about. He couldn't really tell but at first glance he could have sworn... where those guitar picks?
"I play too. We have a band. What kind of music do you like?" Tre continued not noticing Billie Joe staring also. Mike however found today just like any other day and this class just like every other class, sleep time.
"Well, I like a lot of stuff. Just whatever I guess. I can't say I'm too keen on country though. What's your band called?" Saria said deciding this Tre guy was actually pretty cool, and better yet he was being nice.
"Cool, we play like rock, well punk rock rather. It's fucking awesome, you should come see us play some time. We're called Green Day." Tre finished.
"Ah, I see. The beautiful day spent smoking all day long. Nice name, I like it. I'd love to see you play." Saria said smiling without really meaning to. Wow, how long had it been since she had actually smiled, much less smiled at someone? Maybe this school wasn't so bad.

The rest of the class had went by pretty fast, Saria and Tre had talked pretty much the entire time. The rest of the day was quick as well as the final bell rang at the end of the day. Saria made her way out side and started to head home. She started feeling nervous when she heard footsteps behind her. Jumping slightly at the feeling of a hand tugging on her shoulder Saria turned around to see Tre standing there smiling. Apparently Saria surprise was obvious to Tre also as he caught his breath,
"Do you wanna do something later?" he asked lamely.
"Huh? Uh, sure. Like...what?" Saria asked as Tre regained his composer.
"I dunno just hang out with Billie Joe and Mike?" Tre replied shrugging putting his hands in his pockets.
"Yeah, cool. What time?" Saria said actually starting to care what she looked like at that moment.
"Anytime, want me to like walk you home?" Tre asked shoving his hands in his pockets.
"Sure. I'll just put my stuff down and let my dad know where I'm going and we'll go? Sound good?"
"Yeah." Tre replied as they started walking.
"So how long have you been here?" Tre asked looking up from the ground where he had been tracing cracks in the concret.
"A couple of days. My dad moved here for his new job. I guess it's better than the last place." Saria shrugged.
"You think you're gonna stay long?" Tre asked pulling his jacket tighter around him as they turned the corner.
"Yeah, we got a pretty nice place. Besides if I like it here I'm not going anywhere." Saria replied.
A few moment later they were in front of a two story pretty normal house. Saria walked up and unlocked the front door as Tre followed. Walking into the lounge Saria motioned to the couch, "You can watch T.V. or something while you wait if you want. I won't be that long but make yourself at home or whatever."
Tre walked over and sat on the couch as Saria made her way up stairs. On the table he saw a Rolling Stones Mag and picked it up. A few minutes later Saria came down,
"Hey did you wanna see my set?" she asked happily.
"Huh? Oh right, yeah." Tre said.
Saria led him upstairs and opened the door to her room. In the corner sat a nice set of Singerland drums. Beside them a Royal blue Fender Guitar.
"Wow, you're really fucking cool Saria." Tre said looking over everything.
Saria let out a small laugh, "Yeah, I guess."

"Hey Saria, what's up?" Mike said as Tre and Saria walked into Billie Joe's backyard.
"Hey." Saria replied glancing over at Billie Joe who just gave a small smile.
Tre walked over and sat next to Billie on the grass while Saria sat across from Mike in a lawn chair.
"Dude, she plays guitar too." Tre said to Billie Joe bringing him back from his thoughts.
"Oh really? Cool." Billie Joe replied plainly, so they had been guitar picks. Maybe this chick was alright after all.
After a long afternoon of talking and watching them play some, Saria decided she needed to get home before her dad did. She had forgotten to leave a note or to call she had been a little preoccupied with her new....friends. Tre had offered to walk her home and insisted when she said she would be fine, so here there were walking alone in the dark in the middle of winter freezing.
After noticing Tre pull his jacket closer around him for the fifth time in the past five minutes Saria decided to strike up conversation.
"Tre you really didn't have to do this."
"Nah, it's nothing. I have to go this way to get to my house anyway."
"Well, you going to be walking in the dark. That's not good."
"I'll be fine it's just a little ways down. Well here we are." Tre said stopping in front of Saria's house.
"Yeah, here we are..." Saria sighed.
"Well I'll see you tomorrow." Tre said as Saria nodded. He turned away as Saria started up to her house. After a few moments of walking Tre heard fast footsteps behind him. Just as he turned around he felt a pair of warm lips brush his softly. He looked to see Saria nervously looking at the ground,
"Thanks for....walking me home Tre." she said just as she felt his arms wrap around her waist.
"No problem." He replied before claiming her lips with his.
