Kat's mind drifted back to the time when it was looking really bad for Charlie. The dark times that noone liked to talk about. For the mere mention of this times triggered akward conversations and silent tears.
Charlie's life had been far from easy. She'd had to struggle to achieve anything. She had been put up for adoption by her parents as a small child and had been bounced from foster home to foster home ever since. Untill she finally turned eighteen and was no longer the system's "problem".
Kat knew everything of Charlie's past. Or so she thought...
Kat was ripped back to reality by the jolt of the car engine stopping. Kat unbuckled her seat belt and got out of the car.
Frankie led Charlie, Tre and Mike up to the house. Billie Joe waited for Kat.
"Are you okay Kat?", asked Billie Joe.
"Yeah, fine. Just lost in my thoughts. C'mon you can raid my CD collection if you want.", finished Kat, walking up to the front door.
"Sounds good.", replied Billie Joe.
Tre and Charlie sat down at opposite ends of the couch and slowly started slowly edging their way closer to each other.
"There they are!", said Kat, proudly pointing towards a mountain of CD's.
"It's official!, started Mike, We have finally found someone with a bigger CD collection than BJ!!", finished Mike.
Billie Joe's eyes lit up at the sight of all the CDs. He resembled a little kid on christmas morning. Kat was proud and happy to own so many sought after CDs.
