Dorm Number 27, chapter 2

"Well, here we are Amy. My dorm," Billie gestured to the room. There were two beds, both had black comforters and pillowcases. On the walls were posters of Blink182, and a few other bands. There was one bed not made, (she assumed it was his), and there was a guitar on the other bed. A window was on the wall opposite the door. Beneath the window was a desk with a spiral notebook, papers, pens, and other items scattered on the top, and a wheeled computer chair was pushed away from it. There were two wardrobes, one empty, and one full of Billie Joe's clothes and there were some clothing on the floor.
"Sorry for the mess," He said. "I forgot I was getting a new roomie. I'll clean up while you put your stuff away."
"Okay..." Amy just shrugged.
"What's with the attitude?" Billie asked.
"What attitude?!" She replied in a shout.
"That attitude!"
"How would you feel if your dad abused and sexually harrassed you, your mom couldn't give a shit about you, and you were pulled away from your few friends and sent away from NYC to Miami?! Seriously, how can you blame me for being upset?! They gave me no fucking choice!" She screamed. Billie shut and locked the door so no one would come to see what was going on. Amy fell back onto his bed and a tear rolled down her cheek, causing a tear stain on Billie's pillow. Billie sat on the other end of the bed and placed a strong hand on her leg.
"Hey, I'm sorry," He sighed. Amy just looked away and stared at the wall opposite her. "Why didn't you call the cops on your dad if he... Y'know..."
"I dunno," She shrugged. "Fear, I guess."
Billie Joe just looked at her, pity dwelling in his eyes. His heart sank when he heard what she had told him, and he could barely believe it. He knew people could be cruel, he knew people like this before, so it wasn't anything new, but he found a new affection for her. He sighed again.
"Hey, at least you'll be rid of him for like a year," He said trying to cheer her up.
"Well, yes, but... Whatever..." Amy sat up and looked at him. "Dude, we like just met, but I think we're already good friends."
"Well, I don't know, maybe I don't want to be your friend," He said teasingly. Amy threw a pillow at him and laughed.
"Either way, I'm glad I'm not home. I couldn't stand to go back," Her eyes dropped to the guitar. "Hey, can I see your guitar?"
Yeah, sure," Billie Joe handed her the guitar and wondered what she would do with it. She checked to make sure it was in tune before she began playing a song. She closed her eyes and began to sing. Billie became entranced in the sad song. A couple minutes later, she stopped and sighed. Putting the guitar down beside her, she kept her gaze on Billie.
"That was nice," he said. "You write that yourself?"
"Yup. The music I had a little help on from one of my friends back home," Amy smiled. Billie smiled back at her and stood up.
"We'll deal with this mess of a room later. Let's go hang out with Tre and Mike."
"Alright," Amy replied. "But I'm a little shy." She looked down at the floor and kicked her feet around a bit.
"Don't be. Just c'mon. They're a couple of dumbasses anyway," Billie chuckled and left the room with Amy beside him and headed off to his friend's dorm.
