Irish Rain, chapter 3
Class finally ended. I hate social studies...
"Well.. That was interesting.." Jenny said, coming up behind me.
I turned to her. "Ya.. -" I got interrupted.
"Hey guys." Mike said as he came up behind us.
"Hey." We both replied in unison. I looked over to Billie Joe, looked at me, and smiled. He seemed shy.
"What class do you have next? Mike asked us, looking down at his schedule.
"Language Arts! Yes!" I said, enthused.
"She liked to write... " Jenny filled them in.
"I like to write." Billie Joe finally spoke. " Well uh.. Songs and stuff."
"Really that's awesome!" I assured him.
"Were in a band.. Kind of.. And well, she's our song writer." Jenny told them, pointing to me. "So, what do you guys have next?" She asked.
"Uh.. We have language arts too." Mike said, after staring at his schedule again, then looked up and smiled.
"Well.. You guys better go.. You don't want to be late." Jenny told them smirking at me.
"Aren't you guys coming?"
"Ya... we.. Uh.. Well, let's just say, were always late." I answered.
Mike shrugged and him and Billie Joe walked off.
"So now where too?" Jenny asked me.
"Uhmm.. I don't know... maybe we should just go today.." I replied looking at the ground.
"Hmm... OH YA! We have a sub today!" Jenny remembered.
"OH YAA!! Let's stand outside the door 'til the bell rings then barge in." I announced
"Oh yes.. Good idea." Me and Jenny began walking down the hallway to our L.A. classroom. There was the bell, but the door was already open, and the sub already saw us. We sighed and walked in.
"I was warned about you two... " She said looking at us. "I left the door open in case of barged entry." She smiled like she was the smartest person alive. My eyes immediately shot over to Victoria. She was the preppiest, popular, annoying chick anyone could ever meet in there life. She held up her hand, did a little wave, and winked. I could have killed her. " Take your seats!" The sub shouted at us. We obeyed.. Not because we were scared of her, but because we were so angry at Victoria, well at least I was.
I knew she was evil from the first time I met her. She came up to me, dissed Jenny, an then asked me if I would be her friend, she said that together we could rule the school. I just pushed her... she was wearing heels that were like 3 inches high and tripped and fell in the mud... it was raining too.
I didn't feel like listening to the bitchy sub, so I just tuned her out and began to draw. Our real L.A. teacher was awesome, and didn't really care if we were late all the time. We were passing her class with flying colors, so all she said was keep up the good work.
Mike and Billie Joe were sitting in front of us again. But this time, Billie Joe was in front of me, and Mike was in front of Jenny. I looked over and Jenny and Mike were passing a note back and forth. I glanced back down at my paper, but I felt Jenny tap me on the shoulder. She handed me a folded up piece of paper. I opened it and saw a big heart, drawn in pencil, with a banner across it. The banner read, I heart bass. Jenny must have drew it.. I could tell. She was an excellent drawer. I wasn't to bad myself either. She tossed another piece of paper over to me and this one said 'Should I give it to Mike? He told me he plays bass. I drew it like last night when I got bored.' I looked down at the drawing again and then noticed a very detailed bass drawn in the bottom corner.
I shrugged and then held up a picture of a guitar I drew. She studied it, then shrugged too. I nodded yes to her and placed the drawing back on her desk.
Billie Joe passed back a piece of paper. 'Got any ideas for a song?' Was what it said. I scribbled 'No' on it, then followed it by, 'Do you play anything?' Soon enough he placed it on my desk. This time, it said, 'Yep. I play guitar, and I sing. J' I wrote 'no ideas' down on the paper and tossed it forward.
I began to draw all over the piece of paper that I had on my desk. It was covered in black ink before class was over; and so was my hand.
The bell rang and we all fled the classroom.
