A Rebel named Billie, chapter 4
8 DAYS LATER...
It was the day of the concert and Jeph was going to be here soon to pick me up. I put on my tight black jeans, a tight green tank top, and a pair of black Converse sneakers. A few minutes later there was a "honk" and I went out and got in Jeph's car. We drove to the concert singing Green Day the whole way without a CD. We got there about 30 minutes before the concert was gonna start. We went in and went to our seats, which we really didn't need.
The concert finally started and Billie Joe walked out on stage and stopped right in front of us. Then Mike and Tre walked out and over to their places. The lights went out and I immediately grabbed Jeph's hand. Billie Joe started "American Idiot" and the lights came back on. It was an amazing show, fire included. Once it was over, Jeph and I stayed after to let everyone go so we could get out easier. While we were waiting, I watched the guys help clear the stage.
"Billie! Hey Billie Joe! My girlfriend has the same name as you!", Jeph yelled, trying not to laugh.
"Jeph! Shutup!" I said, elbowing him in the stomach.
Billie stopped what he doing and walked over to us, smiling the whole way. He kneeled down to our level and said:
"Does she now?"
I looked at him, smiled, and said:
"Yep!"
"Interesting. How do you spell it?"
"Same as you!"
"Hmmm..." He stretched his hand out, "nice to meet you, Billie!"
"Nice to meet you, too." I said as I shook his hand.
"Ummm... Don't mind if I join in here." Jeph said.
"Actually, I do mind. Now calm down, he's married!" I scolded him.
"Fine," He said, sitting down.
Billie was laughing and motioned for Tre and Mike to come over. They stopped what they were doing and walked over. They also kneeled down to our level and Billie introduced them to me.
"Billie, this is Mike and Tre. Guys, this is Billie."
"Oh god! Not another Billie!" Tre joked.
"Nice to meet you." Mike said.
"Nice to meet you both." I replied.
"She plays drums!" Jeph interrupted again.
"Really?" Tre asked, sounding pretty interested.
"Yea. I played my first show alittle over a week ago."
"Awesome! Are you in a band?" Mike asked.
"Yea."
"What's it called?"
"The Idiots of America." I said with a smile.
"Nice.", All three of them said.
"We should probably get going. Gotta be in Chicago tomorrow." Billie said.
"OK... Ummm... Do you think I could get your autographs?"
"No marker." Tre said.
"I got one!" Jeph said.
"So, can I have them?" I asked.
"For a girl with my name, who plays drums, and absolutely loves us... Sure!" said Billie with a smile.
"Great!" I said, smiling, "Sign the back."
I turned around and they each signed the back of my shirt. I smiled and said, "Thanks!"
I waved goodbye and Jeph and I walked out to the car. We drove home and couldn't stop talking about the concert. Jeph dropped me off and I went in and tried calling Skye. She didn't pick up, so I went into my room and I emailed her. I told her that I had bought her something from the concert and I really wanted to give it to her.
The next day Skye called me back and I told her to come over. I went outside and I waited for her. When she arrived she still looked a little angry. She sat down and I apologized again. I then handed her a box. She opened it and immediately hugged me as she started to cry.
"I love it!" she said.
"I knew you would." I replied.
Inside the box was a picture of Green Day that was signed by all three guys. From then on Skye and I were back to talking. Jeph and I were still dating and were going to the Fall dance together. The Idiots of America had a gig opening for Green Day on their fall tour, which was made possible by the number left at the bottom of my green tank top.
