School Years, chapter 1

It was late in the afternoon and I was late coming home from school as I had, to attend a detention for giving my “rights of student freedom speech out in the cafeteria today during the lunch break. The temperature was rising, and I need to get home. It was humid and the world though my eyes was becoming murky. I tried to take my mind off the fact that I was probably going to get into trouble for having to attend another detention, but all I could think about was mom and what she was feeling. It had almost been two years since dad had left. She was trying her best to cope with it, and I guess having me around all the time didn’t really help either. I wish there was someway I could make life easier for her. The both of us. Well there was one thing I did know about mum, one thing she thought I didn’t know. That was that she had feelings for our next door neighbour Mr. Wright. I knew he had feelings for her as well. They spent a lot of their time together. That was the only thing I knew I had to try and not ruin. When ever he was around I excused my self politely and went into my room so that they would have time alone. I wanted this to work out so much between them two and I knew they would both be happy. The only thing that I didn’t like about it though was Mr. Wright’s son Tre. Now don’t get me wrong, Tre’s a really cool guy, and he’s always around when I need him, but if the two of them got married, that means Tre and I would have to be brother and sister and that was so not happening.
