A Night To Remember, chapter 14
"WHAT!" Steve screamed. He was pacing up and down in the snow in front of a very nervous young nazi. The nazi swallowed hard and repeated;
"Mike Dirnt and Billie Joe Armstrong have escaped sir."
"When did this happen? HOW did this happen?" Steve said.
"It was around two hours ago. The guards had been knocked unconscious. When they woke up the truck door was open, so they radioed an alarm to the front convoy leader and he-"
"I know the rest." Steve snarled. A nazi general approached him.
"Sir." He said. "Shall we go to plan B?"
"Use the clones?" Steve said.
"Yes sir, they're not completed yet, but they may be enough to fool the-"
"Fine. But first we'll go back and try to find the little shits. They couldn't have gone far on their own." His general was about to holler out orders when another young nazi scampered forward.
"Sir." He said breathlessly. "Sir-"
"Out with it!" Steve screamed.
"Sir." The nazi said. "Tre Cool has escaped.".
"What? Clean your ears out boy, he's dead!" Steve said.
"N-no sir. He climbed out of the hole but we caught him and we locked him in the cells. Then he escaped and-"
"HE ESCAPED!" Steve screamed.
"A-and"
"Get on with it!" He yelled.
"And we now know that there was a mole acting as a guard sir. He helped him escape."
Steve grabbed the boy by the throat and crushed it in an instant. The boy was tossed to the ground.
"We have to find them. Get your men ready to turn back." Steve said to his general, and with that he went back to his truck.
"Mmm, I love pop tarts." Tre said. They were sitting in the truck trundling along the snowy road. They were all munching on breakfast bars, pop tarts and other breakfasty things that Jack had bought in a small garage. The town they had been through was tiny, and it didn't even have a café. Mike wasn't happy.
"I really wanted some coffee." Mike said.
"Dude, stop talking about the coffee!" Tre said.
"I cant help it." Mike sighed.
No-one spoke for a while. They played eye spy, but Tre kept winning and always said "Something beginning with s."
"Oh for fucks sake Tre, its snow! You've said that 5 times already!" Billie Joe finally yelled.
Everyone fell into silence. Billie Joe was dozing, Mike was staring out of the window and Tre was humming to himself when Jack slammed on the brakes.
"Shit." He said.
"What. What is it?" Tre looked further ahead on the road. They were at the top of a hill looking down.
"Oh shit!"
"What?" Mike asked.
"The nazi convoys down there, and they're heading this way." Jack said.
"So what do we do?" Billie Joe said. "We cant run, they'll see us."
"I'm working on it. I'll think of something." Jack said. He put the truck into reverse and started backing up.
"They're getting closer." Tre said. "They'll see us soon!"
"Wait, I have an idea." Mike said. "Jack. Let me drive."
"Why?"
"Just shut up and get in the back!" Mike said. Jack did as he was told. Mike got in front, put the car in gear and the car wheels skidded as he slammed on the accelerator.
"What the hell are you doing!" Tre said. Mike crashed through a fence and was driving through a field. Billie Joe saw what was ahead.
"Oh fuck Mike no!" Billie said.
"Open your windows." Mike said. A frozen lake was ahead of them.
"Are you crazy!" Tre said.
"Just do it!" Mike yelled. They wound their windows down.
"Brace yourselves!" Mike said. They screamed as the truck landed on the ice. They stopped and looked at each other. It hadn't broken!
"Well that was-" Jack said and stopped as their was an almighty crack and the truck lurched forward. It disappeared into the water as the Nazi convoy went past.

Mike's breath caught in his throat as the water filled the truck. It felt like he was being stuck with thousands of tiny needles.
"Shit!" Tre gasped. Billie Joe was about to climb out when Jack said;
"No, we've got to wait till they've gone past. Lets hope they don't see the tracks and-" He spluttered as the water got into his mouth. They held their breath as the truck sunk down into the lake. It landed on the bottom slowly. They waited for a few agonising moments. They couldn't take the cold anymore. They swam up to the surface.
"Mike Dirnt and Billie Joe Armstrong have escaped sir."
