A Night To Remember, chapter 5

Mike woke up with a start. He surveyed the scene. Tré was lying on the sofa sleeping peacefully. He guessed that the snoring lump on the floor was Billie Joe covered in sheets. He glanced in the mirror and jumped. His face was messily covered with green face paint (probably applied by Tré), and his left eye looked extremely bloodshot. He guessed that was because of the eyeliner scribbled round his eyes. Probably Billie Joe's handiwork. His blonde hair was greasy and spiked up at odd angles with what looked like hairspray. What had they been doing? Wait. He remembered that he was the first one to pass out. He vaguely recalled Billie Joe and Tré playing drinking games before everything went black. Tré must have still felt a little angry about the whole water pistol thing. He glanced at his watch. 11:55pm.
"Woah." He said. Billie stirred.
"Mike." He called out. "Mike, cut me out of this will ya? I've been stuck in my sheets for hours."
Mike found the scissors and cut through. Billie Joe's head appeared. Mike stopped cutting and started to laugh.
"What?" Billie asked. Mike snorted and pulled him upright and walked him to the mirror. Billie Joe gasped in horror. He resembled a panda! Eyeliner and eye shadow had been heavily applied to most of his face.
"I didn't do this!" He gasped. "Tré must have! I'm gonna kill him when he wakes up."
"And who did this?" Mike asked, pointing to his own face.
"Um... Tré?" Billie Joe mumbled.
"Liar! I know it was you too! Tré doesn't have eyeliner!"
"Well-" He was stopped short by a large thud on the bus roof. It sounded like something had fallen.
"What was that?" Mike asked. Billie Joe shrugged. There was another larger thump. Tré woke up with a start.
"Wassat?" He snorted.
It kept happening. Thud thud thud thud, until it was unbelievably loud. Then, suddenly, it stopped. The lights went out. Tré squeaked.
"Someone go see what's out there." He said.
"And how do you expect us to find the door?" Billie Joe said. As if by magic, the lights flickered on again.
"Well I cant go out." Tré said happily. "I'm wounded."
Billie and Mike knew he was right.
"Rock paper scissors?" Mike asked.
"Yup."
Mike won. Billie Joe swore.
"After you!" Mike said smugly. Billie Joe huffed and carefully walked to the door. The thudding had stopped, but whatever was making it might still be out there. He put his hand on the handle, and pushed the door.

"It won't open!" Billie Joe exclaimed.
"What?" Mike said.
"The doors jammed! Snow or ice or something must be blocking it!"
"Let me see." Mike pushed and shoved and even kicked the door, but it was no good. The door was stuck fast.
"I guess you'll have to go through the sunroof." Tré said.
"WHAT! Fuck you!"
"I'll give you a boost." Mike said. There was no point in arguing. Mike lifted him up to the sunroof. Billie pushed hard and it popped open. The snow rushed in. Billie Joe coughed and spluttered as snow flew into his mouth. He put his arms on the roof and hoisted himself up to look around. It was very dark.
"Tré, find a flashlight." Billie said.
"Right you are!" He called out and Billie could hear rummaging. Suddenly, the lights went out again. Billie was in complete darkness.
"Should I let you down?" Mike asked. There was the thump again. Billie could hear it way clearer now. Whatever it was was right in front of him. He squinted into the darkness. The thump was even closer now. Then there was the smell of rotting fish, and Billie could hear heavy breathing. He decided not to hang around.
"Let me down let me down!" He screamed. Mike lowered him and Billie Joe hurriedly closed the sunroof. He still couldn't see a thing.
"I found the flashlight!" Tré said.
"What did you see out there?" Mike asked.
Tré flicked on the flashlight and shone it onto the sunroof. They all screamed
