Ch. 19- Staying put... The final decision
That day as I sat in the lounge on the phone with Ashley, I get word that Mike is heading back to Alabama, and her and Billie Joe were too until they could raise enough money and get donations from each family to get house here in California. I hung up the phone as the conversation ended. 2-D sitting and me close together, starring out the window. My new buddy; pal, and friend. The spiky blue sweetheart who's been around ever since this mess started. I dunno, maybe it's the trickery of California that split me and Mike up. The California love, as most Mexicans and me would say. 2-D put his arm around me.
"Are you going back to Alabama anytime soon?" ; I sighed and tilted my head as I looked at the setting sun.
"No... To many memories. I like it here, I'm gonna stay here if its ok." ; He smiled one big childish smile and hugged me to where I gasped for air.
"Aw! NEAT! Now I have someone to spend time with!", he let me go and we sat together starring out the window again. I wonder how my parents were doing out there in Alabama now. I wonder what the rest of my friends will think? So many questions but no answers. Murdoc walked in and stood near the window,
"Over heard the news... You stayin right?", I nodded. He nodded back. Then grinned, "Cause of me?", I threw a pillow at him; 2-D threw the remote to the T.V. at him.
"No, not cause of you!", I yelled back laughing.
"CAUSE OF ME!" ; yelled 2-D. We all laughed. Yea, I know that this story of mine might of sounded like some weird summer vacation that went bad, but actually it all turned out like nice comedy of a now crazy little family who has joined up by fate. Any who, yea I stayed with them and I'm still here. Me and 2-D are more than friends now, he started the flirting first so you know! Mike however now has a new life... So I hear, he quit his job and started a road trip off somewhere on his own. Ashley and Billie Joe are now living in the Redlands in their new home. I think Billie Joe is thinking about popping the question! I hear wedding bells! And-
"Lex! C'mon we gotta go to the photo shoot!", yells 2-D.
"Gotta go!"
