Livin' With The Gorillaz, chapter 2

CH. 2 - The News

Driving down the road and slashing huge puddles of water all over the place, I flip on the radio. I was still a little angry about the argument I had earlier. The radio was a little blurry at first but then it came to, I opened the glove department and started rambling for my cell phone so I could call Mike. The car swerved a little until I found it and looked to see if I had any minuets on it... None.
"Damn," I said. And threw down my cell phone.
"Worthless thing." The commercials on the radio then finally went off and the music DJ began talking.
"Hello again and welcome to the X on 100. 5, ever hear of the Gorillaz? Well if you haven't then you should listen to this next song I'm about to play and send me your feedback of your opinion or better yet just go to www. Gorillaz. Com and send them your feedback I'm sure they'd like to hear from you! Anyway, here's the hit single Clint Eastwood, enjoy," I grinned as the song started to play. I soon began singing along with it:

"I ain't happy,
Feeling glad,
I got sunshine,
In a bag,
I'm useless,
But not for long 'cause my future is comin' on"

Those exact lyrics were exactly how I felt that day... Yea sing in 2-D. Anywho, it was about 5:00 PM when I arrived at Tre's house. I parked on the side of the road and turned off the engine, waiting a few minuets before I got out. The rain was pouring and I didn't care, Mike is gonna hate me for staying at Tre's house. I thought. I opened the door and slammed it on my way out. I began walking across the lawn; my pants legs were drenched cause it was almost flooding there. I stomped up the steps and headed over to the front door. As I was going to knock with my fist of fury, the door opens with Tre standing it the doorway. I hear voices and step inside, "What's going on? I thought you lived alone."
"I do," he replied, "but everyone else is here too after hearing the news from your mom." I gave an annoyed looked and cursed under my breath.
"When did she call?" I asked a little mad.
"An hour ago, she wanted to know if you were here, but I said no. Then she told me WHERE YOU WERE GOING! When were you gonna tell us?!" The people in the living room quit talking and stampeded into the hallway. I could feel a heat wave flow over me as I looked at everyone with a sorry smile and wave.
"Hi guys... What's up?"
"GET YOUR ASS IN HERE AND TELL US WHAT'S GOING ON!" they all said. I then walked into the living room with Tre and sat on the couch as they gathered around.
"Well as you all may know, probably thanks to Tre and his mouth, I'm leaving for California."
"Why?" asked Ashley who was sitting next Billie Joe, who then asked,
"Does Mike know?"
I shook my head and looked at Tre,
"But I need to use the phone though." He nodded and ran into the kitchen to retrieve the phone. "Well, I've decided to leave because I can't stand to live here in Alabama, don't get me wrong all of you are my friends! But all my parents do is fight and I want to live near my dad anyway. But I promise you this... I'll come when I have money!" Everyone got a stupid look on their face as they all got up and headed towards the kitchen or stayed where they were and talked. Tre came and sat on the couched with me as he handed me the phone.
"I don't think he'll like this idea of yours."
"Yea, well maybe if he feels that he loves me he'll come along too." I replied as I dialed his work number.

RING, RING, RING

"Mike's Guitar Shop, this is Jack Parker speaking. How may I help you?"
"Hey Jack, its Lex, lemme speak to Mike."
"Hey Lex! Um, he left a few minuets ago, I think he's heading over at Tre's now."
"Ok thanks, bye." Click went the phone. I lay back on the couch, leaning on Tre a little. "He's comin over... How am I gonna tell him?"
