Livin' With The Gorillaz, chapter 6
Ch. 6- Meeting the Band
Murdoc gave a shout and hit the ground hard with a loud thud. 2-D took a puff and began pointing and laughing, Murdoc got up and back slapped him out of the way from me. Murdoc looked down at me and grinned,
"You got spunk to stand up to me, you might make a good addition to the place," ; I took a step back and looked away. He gave a small chuckle and left the room. 2-D got up and rubbed his right cheek, I held my hand out to 2-D, which he took and stood up.
"Well, now that you've met him... I think you're ready to meet Noodle and Russ." ; I smiled and nodded. He opened the door and we both walked out and headed to the elevator, as we waited for it to come down and open he pointed and the motor home.
"That's Murdoc's Winnebago. Um he lives in it, sometimes he tends to walk in his sleep so keep your door locked." ; He said. I felt a wave of fear fall over me.
"OK." ; I replied. The door opened and we stepped inside. He took another puff and looked at me.
"So where ya from?" ; I kicked my foot on the floor.
"Alabama, I was born here in California though, long story." ;
"Wow. Well, Alexis, can I call you Lex?" ; I nodded. "Here in Kong Studios a lot of weird things happen, we've had like ten people I suppose come and at least try to live here but after experiencing them they left. Just a little warning to let you know, but you seem to keep your cool a lot so maybe you'll stay awhile." ; The door opened and we arrived in a hallway. We walked down the dark hallway and stopped at a door with a small looking tricycle thingy parked by the room. 2-D knocked and took another drag. The door opened showing a little girl.
"Hello 2-D and stranger." ; She said. 2-D waved and introduced me.
"Hey Noodle, this is Lex she's the new member of the studios. Lex this is Noodle the band's visionary and youngest martial arts kid." ; I gave a small wave.
"Hey Noodle! My friends and me think you kick butt! You rock in our book!" ;
"Thank-you." ; She smiled and bowed. 2-D threw away the cig.
"Eh, Noodle I'm gonna go over to Russ's room to introduce them to each other, OK? I'll see ya around so keep it chilly for a while." ; She nodded and gave 2-D a hug and ran back into her room. 2-D waved over to me as we walked to the next room in the hallway. He knocked and I heard,
"MURDOC IF ITS YOU, I DON'T HAVE YOUR DAMN SATAN OUTFIT!" ; Me and 2-D jumped and looked at each other.
"Russ, it's me! And the new comer! Open up!" ; The door opened and a huge dark man looked down at us.
"Oh hey there. What's up?" ; 2-D pointed at me.
"This is Lex, she'll be living here now." ; I held out my hand and gave a scared smile. He grabbed my hand and shook it. His hand took my whole hand and my wrist, that's how big he was. He let go of my hand and looked at 2-D with his all white eyes, 2-D looked around.
"Why would you have Murdoc's Satan suit? Does he have one?" ; Russell sighed and looked around before he spoke.
"Yea he's got one! I was in the laundry room going through some clothes trying to find my favorite shirt when I found it. The thing creeped me out so I got rid of it." ; We nodded in agreement. There was a noise outside the hallway, Russ looked out in the hallway,
"Look I'll see you two later I think Murdoc might be comin up with his scythe." ; He slammed the door and me and 2-D laughed. I looked at the clock that hung on the wall, it was 6:30p. M. I looked at 2-D who was looking out the window,
"Hey when do you guys eat around here?" ; 2-D looked down at the clock and then me.
"There's a kitchen near the first floor, we could go there in a little while." ; He replied. I nodded,
"Yea I need to start unpacking." ;
A few minuets later in my room, I was putting my clothes away in dressers and my small closet, and putting my toothbrush and other bathroom stuff into the bathroom. I lay out on my bed taking out my CD player out of my little carry on bag and began listening to Gorillaz music; the song was called New Genious. I rolled over and began singing along,
"Brother, sister too,
Do what you must do,
Don't trust people you meet,
They promise you,
That the river ain't deep." ;
I dug around in my bag and pulled out some money, only about $150. I looked at the little brown nightstand and put a picture of Mike and me on it. The picture had me on his back as he carried me. I had a phone that sat on floor on the other side of my bed. It was a small red cordless phone. That was pretty much it. I might have to take up a job and make some money for some more stuff for my room. I took off my bear cap and threw it on the edge of the bed, then buried my head in a pillow.
