The Truth About Dogs, chapter 16
"Tre!" I yelled into the phone.
"What the hell, dude? The news is saying you were arrested for throwing a dog over the bridge!"
"Yeah. I am, and I did."
"Billie, you idiot, why the hell did you go and do something stupid like that? My God, what is your wife going to say?"
"Uh.. Yeah. Pecker stole the tapes, Tre. I saw him! He tried to attack me!"
"Billie... " mumbled Tre, "Pecker is in the pound! There is no way he got out! The pound is like Azkaban for dogs!"
"Azkaban? Tre... Lay off the Harry Potter books! And besides, I don't think a dog pound has 'demons' or whatever running around sucking the soul out of dogs... "
"Dementors, Billie, they're dementors... And besides! That one dude was like a dog."
"Tre! I don't give a fuck about Harry Potter! I'm in jail! A REAL jail, and unlike your stupid dog, I'm not going to be able to get out! They think I'm crazy! You have to come down here and tell them that Pecker is an evil dog!"
"Billie, if I did that, THEY would think I'm crazy as well... "
I sighed, "Tre... You're my BEST friend. I'm not lying to you about Pecker. He stole our tapes, Tre! Our MUSIC, he stole it, and dropped it into the bay."
"If he dropped our tapes into the bay, why the fuck did you throw him in after them?"
The cops came over and told me that my time was up after that. Before they made me hang up, I screamed one last thing to Tre...
"Help me you fucknugget!"
I only had to wait about two hours before Tre finally dragged his ass over to the jail. He bailed me out, and tried to explain the situation to the police.
Of course, telling them that I THOUGHT the dog was after me because I had just suffered a major blow to the head a few days prior didn't help the matters any, but I didn't care. I was out, and I was off to get that fucking dog!
He will pay!
Unfortunately, right as I stepped out of the door, I was tackled to the ground by the mental institution collectors. Tre, Mike, Adrienne, and Rob all had me committed. Fuckers... I don't see where they get off that I'm crazy... Tre was the one going on about fucking Harry Potter.
