Time Of My Life, chapter 32
I was awoken at 8:00am by Matthew jumping on the bed asking if Santa had been.
"Yeah just wait till mommy and daddy get up" I said rubbing sleep from my eyes. I pulled on a shirt and some trouser as Rebecca did the same. I carried Matthew downstairs and when he saw all the presents he gasped.
"He came he came! Santa came!" he yelled squirming from my arms. He ran over and started opening his huge pile of presents. I sat down near my much smaller one. Rebecca sat down next to hers as well. As Matthew opened his presents I handed mine to Rebecca. She carefully opened the bow and looked at it. It was a pendant with an inscription on the back: To Rebecca, Merry Christmas 1997 your loving husband Billie Joe.
"Oh my god Billie it is beautiful!" she said giving me a long kiss. She handed me my present. I opened it and looked at it. It was a huge collage with pictures of me, Rebecca, Matthew and everyone else. It was lovely. I gave her a kiss.
"That's not it though" she said smiling.
"What do you mean?" I asked quizzically.
"Your other present will be here at about 2:00pm before dinner I should think" she said smiling.
"Ok then" I said puzzled.
"Oh wait I have another present for you... I think you will like it. It will be like a member of the family." I told her. She looked puzzled too.
Once we had finished opening presents we watched Matthew play with all his toys. He was so happy. After he played for a couple hours we went back out in the snow and on his new sledge. He had so much fun. We walked around the street pulling Matthew along on his sledge. When we got home my present was sitting on the door step as planned.
"Oh look there's something on the doorstep" said Rebecca jogging over.
"Woah it's moving!" she yelled. Then she looked at the tag: to Rebecca all my love Billie Joe and Matthew.
She lifted the lid and out jumped the puppy with a red ribbon around it's neck and a ring tied to it.
"He is so cute!" screeched Rebecca and so is this ring! And so are you!" she said turning and giving me a kiss
"Ok you guys break it up!" said Matthew. We laughed. Rebecca picked up the puppy and took him in.
"What should we name him?" asked Rebecca
"I don't know he is your puppy" I told her.
"How about.... Tyler?" she said
"Yeah Tyler" yelled Matt.
"I like it Tyler it is then" I said stroking his floppy ears.
Soon enough 2:00pm came and so did my present.
"A BMW convertible!" I yelled
"Yeah just for you. It's better than the set of wheels you have now and plus I will get to drive it too!" chirped Rebecca.
"Come on let's take it for a spin! Mike Abby would you please watch Matthew and when Tre comes make sure he doesn't eat the food we will be home in time for dinner being ready!" I yelled
"Ok guys bye. Hey Matthew what did you get off Santa Claus?" was all I heard as we pulled off in my brand new set of wheels.
