Wake Me Up When the Maddness Ends, chapter 2
STILL BILLIE'S POV
Yes, I got a song!! I feel so goddamn proud of myself. Well, we actually had things written before, but when we went back to the studio the next day, they just dissappered. But since then, which was like a week ago, I can't think of anything to write. Those were all some good ideas, but then some bastard took them, or they just got lost.
So now I sit her with a piece of paper and pen writing down what I have now. I am gonna call this one "American Idiot" because that is what it talks about... not wanting to be an idiot. American one, that is.
Don't wanna be an American Idiot
Don't want a nation under the new media
Can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mindfuck America
Welcome to a new kind of tension
All across the alienation everything isn't meant to be okay
Televison dreams of tomorrow
We're not the ones meant to follow
For that's enough to argue?
Maybe i'm the faggot America
I'm not part of a redneck agenda
Now everybody do the propoganda
And sing along to the age of paranoia
[chorus]
Don't wanna be an American idiot
One nation controlled by the media
Information age of hysteria
Calling out to idiot America!!
[chorus]
Yes! I have it! I have the whole thing written down here on a piece of paper ready to show to the guys at the sudio! I deserve a pat on the back for this.
I got up, took a shower, and headed to the studio to show the guys my masterpiece.
TRE'S POV
"Yo, where the fuck is he!! We have been here for days waiting for him!!"
Mike hit me in the head with my drumstick. "Wow, you're so dramatic. We have been here for an hour."
I saw the door open up and saw Billie walk in. As usual, he looked depressed. He has been like that for over a few months now. Truth is, I feel sorry for the guy. He has gone through alot of shit in his life, like no father and stuff. I think that is why he is depressed also.
"Well, as long as I am happy, no one should be sad!"
"Hey guys. I wrote a new song."
Mike ran over to him. "Dude, sit here and show it to us. I wrote something also."
He showed us the song he wrote. Good shit if you ask me.
"Billie, I say we keep it. That is some good shit you got there man. We shall make something out of it!!"
"You sure?"
I looked at him. "Hell yeah."
Mike spoke up. "So, then what are we going to do then? We got something obviously. But what is the point?"
"How about we see the song you wrote?"
"Sure."
He showed us what he wrote, and as I said about Billie's, it kicked ass.
Nobody likes you
Everyone left you
They're all out without you
Having fun
Billie laughed. "Haha, I like that. I think we are seriosuly onto something here, mates. How about we stay here the rest of the day and write and see what we can come up with."
We shook our heads. "Yes, since I have been here for days waiting for you to show up!!"
We all laughed at what I said. But Billie didn't laugh like he used to. There was just something different about him now.
I wish I could figure out what that something was.
