The Tale of Time and Love, chapter 1

There was a rumble and a few drips of rain started to fall from the sky. Billie Joe was walking home after a tedious day at school. It was a Monday and he hated Mondays. He sighed and huddled inside his jacket, the breeze was picking up. A typical wintry day, he thought as he past the streets. He looked at the looming buildings, which he passed. Something felt different than usual, he paused and looked around.
"Shit," he murmured when he realised that he took the wrong road and was standing in a strange street. He tried to recall where he went wrong but it felt like part of his memory had been erased because he couldn't remember. He shrugged, he thought that if he kept on walking that he might find a place more familiar. After all, a back street is no place for a teenager.
Around five minutes later Billie felt a little panicky, he had no clue where he was. The rain was falling heavier now and no progress with the way home.
What the hell was happening? He had made this walk a thousand time before and nothing like this had happened before. Billie kicked a lamppost in frustration but that made his toe hurt.
Billie limped down the path a bit longer until the rain completely hammered down. He darted in a small sheltered alleyway, it stank of old garbage. He peered out in the rain, it was seriously heavy no chance of walking back in the downpour. He dug in his pocket and pulled out a cigarette; if his mum found out about this he would be dead meat.
He lit his cigarette with an old lighter he picked up yesterday. The tobacco seemed to calm him down and, cigarette in mouth, he decided to check out the alleyway.
It was a narrow space around two metres wide, old rusty bins were standing at the edges obviously forgotten. Billie lifted a lid and backed away quickly when the disgusting stench hit his nose, letting the lid clang noisily on the floor. He swore loudly and picked the lid up and placed it back on the bin. He turned around and something shiny caught his eye. He frowned and walked towards the glint in the darkness.
It looked like a giant bullet; Billie crouched down to look at it. He rubbed it with his sleeve, the metal surface was dirty with dust. Strange little buttons decorated the surface. Billie noticed the date on it: 2012, he frowned even harder. It was only 1986, what was going on? He ran his fingers through his hair, it was very strange. First he gets lost then it rains on him and now he finds this weird metal object with buttons made in the future! Billie was starting to wonder whether he had too much tobacco.
But the thing that was most puzzling was the engraving on the buttons, one said '2005' and the other said 'Britain'. He felt tempted to press the button but he had no idea what would happen.
"Come one Billie, you're no wimp." He muttered under his breath. He flicked his wrist and tossed the cigarette in the air. He then slowly pressed the button '2005' and then 'Britain'. Billie stepped back, holding his breath but nothing happened. He then spotted another button, a big red one with 'Start' written on it. He sighed and lazily pressed the 'start' button.
The metal object suddenly screeched, Billie yelled in fright and leapt backwards but something was holding him back. Billie looked about him frantically but he couldn't see anything. He tried to move again but he was stuck. He could believe what was happening, why was he stuck?
There was a glow of light from the Object, Billie looked back at it. Two words on the surface were radiating green light. Billie scowled; the words seemed to dance before him. Then the green light pulsed brightly and then swallowed the object. Billie could faintly hear music, it was a guitar definitely slightly distorted. He shut his eyes against the glare of the light and then something odd happened.
Billie felt himself leave the ground, he convulsed in shock then a pain throbbed in his head. Billie felt nausea take its grip and then the music that he could hear grew loader. Billie felt himself smile, it was Punk Rock. It all happened too quickly, he opened his eyes and looked into a face that seemed to come from the light. He thought it looked familiar, a man around thirty with green eyes. Billie had never met him but before he could find out anything about him, everything went black and Billie felt his body pitch forwards and fall into eternity.
