Hearts Recycled But Never Saved, chapter 1

It was a cold day in the middle of April as showers of rain poured. Pippet looked out the front window at the cars that passed down Adeline. It was a boring day so far, and her friend Katty was to come to her house later that day. 10:00. It was still early. Pippet just sighed and supported her face with her hand. Today wasn't getting any easier and after her heartbreak with Billie, Pippet didn't know how much longer she could take. Every since she was seven, Pip had had feeling for Billie, but she kept it inside, even til now at the age of sixteen. Just recently, Billie had told the young girl he was now going out with Emily. Emily. He wanted her to be happy for him, but how was that possible? It was Emily he was talking about. Pippet had never liked that girl to begin with. She was extremely annoying and always tried to fit in with the trends at school. Now, it's not that she was necessarily a poser, well, yes, she was a poser. She liked bands like My Chemical Romance, yet still sang to Brittney Spears. She was a wannabe, a fouler. She tried so hard to fit in, that she was always cast out. But, she had one thing that Pippet never liked. She was pretty much perfect. Emily did have friends with the popular kids, but she wasn't too sure how she ever managed to climb to that social status. 'I guess if it's kissing ass that gets you there, that's how she did it.'
Pippet had told herself. Pip kept her feelings inside about how disappointed she was that Billie was with someone else, but couldn't help but be disgusted or be envious whenever she saw Billie and Emily holding hands. Thoughts ran through her head, and then, the doorbell rang.

'Who is it?', she called staying in her seated position looking at the door.
'Uhh its Billie', the voice said from the other side. She wondered why he of all people would be at her doorstep.
'What do you want?', she asked placing her hands on the couch to push herself up. He was silent for a moment. After a while she heard small chit chat from the door.
'We just need a place to stay for a while', Billie said, his voice being slightly uneasy. She walked over to the door and opened it taking a look at the people on the other side.
'What do you mean we... oh', she stoped. She let her eyes drop down to the ground and bit her lip hoping they didn't notice.
'Is it alright if we can. Please Pip?', Billie said in a beseeching tone. She kept quiet for a little while longer letting her eye's travel up Billie. She noticed he was holding someone's hand. A girl's hand. Emily's hand. Her eyes began to swell up and fill with tears but she held them back.
'If you need to', she told them walking off back into the house and to her room. Billie walked Emily in half smiling and sat her down on the couch where Pippet was previously sitting.

'Billie you alright?', Emily asked in her bubbly tone. He looked up at her and smiled.
'Yeah I'm fine', he told her smiling again half heartedly, 'Hey listen I'm gonna go get Blue I left him here a few days ago'. Emily nodded and placed a hand on the back of his neck kissing him gently on the lips before breaking apart to let him leave. She watched him walk away wondering if it was possible somehow just to have him on his own. Whenever they went somewhere, they were always found by his mates or by friends of hers. Apart from that, there was the awkward tension between her and Pippet when they came face-to-face, or even when her name was mentioned. The only way to get Billie completely on her side was to get rid of the obvious Emily thought to herself, and well the most obvious thing she had to get rid of first was his long time friends.

-Pippet's Bedroom-

'Tre you don't understand its not like that', she spoke down the phone to the boy on the other side of the line.
'Well maybe he really likes her and well maybe she really likes him?', Tre suggested. Pip rolled her eyes and let out a deep sigh.
'Tre she's using him. She's just going to play him along until she finds somebody else and then she'll break his heart, and then... ..', she was cut off by the sound of her bedroom door opening.
'I'll talk to you later Tre', she said hanging up her mobile quickly and throwing it into one of her bedside draws before she fell back against her bed and faked to be asleep.

'Pippet?', Billie's voice asked as if almost a question to see if she was awake. She kept her eyes closed and mumbled a little.
'Can I come in?'.
'I guess'.
'Well is that a yes or no?'.
'That's a yes'.
Billie walked in seeing the teenage girl lying flat on her bed.
'Is everything alright?', he asked her walking over to get his guitar from the stand.
'Why would you care?', she asked him, thinking it was only right to do so.
'Cos you mean a lot to me and I don't wanna see you like this', he told her taking a seat on the edge of her bed. He let her eyes flick down towards him only just enough to see Blue in his lap before she shut her eyes.
'Just go Billie', she told him putting her head into her arms to hide her emotions that could be seen in her eyes and on her face.
'But Pippet, tell me what's bothering you', he told her almost like an order.
'Its nothing. Just go Billie Joe', she told him again. He started playing with her shoelaces lightly. She moved her feet so he couldn't reach them.
'Billie Joe just leave I want to be alone', she told him again.
'Pippet'.
'Billie'.
'Pippet'.
'Billie just leave'.
'But, why wont you tell me what's wrong its like you cant trust me anymore', he told her.
'Well I cant trust you, not now that you're... ', she stoped herself from saying anymore.
'Now that I what?', he asked his eyes starting to become apologetic for no reason. She broke eye contact with him and looked down getting up.
'Its nothing okay, just leave me alone', she told him going to walk away. Billie grabbed her wrist and pulled her in-towards him looking down at her.
'Pippet. We have been friends for too long. You can't just start keeping things from me', he told her trying to get a smile out of her. She looked over him past his shoulder to a painting of a confused mind on her wall.
'Billie Joe just leave me okay?', she asked looking up at him for a split second. Their eyes met making her smile every so small to herself. Billie noticed but before he could do or say anything she broke contact.
'Please Billie just leave me I'll be alright', she told him pushing him away as she walked out of her room. Billie stood speechless watching her leave.
'Pippet... ... ... ... ... ... ... .', he let out wanting her to return. She didn't know and it was just something that he was going to have to accept. As he was about to walk out with Blue he heard her mobile start ringing. She opened the draw the noise was coming from and read the text:

'... .Hey I'll met up with you at the record store so we can sort this Billie issue out... .
-Tre... ... ..'

Billie started to go slightly red in the face. He couldn't believe he's friends we're talking about him behind his back.
'Fine then', he thought to himself, 'I'll give them the treatment they deserve'.
