Hearts Recycled But Never Saved, chapter 3
'Billie... Billie Joe', Katty called following him as he walked away from the group.
'What?', he asked hearing his name being called, but being himself he continued walking away from her.
'Billie Joe', she kept calling him, hoping him to turn back and talk with her. She grabbed his hand and turned him to look at her. He fought back trying to pull his arm away but she managed to control him.
'What was that outburst for?', she asked curiously with a serious look covering her face.
'It was nothing', he murmured under his breath. She raised an eyebrow at him, waiting for an answer.
'Okay, okay', he told her. He took a deep breath him before he decided to continue for the sake of it.
'Its just... ..I'm... ... I'm just sick of her having control over me alright', he said putting his hands on his head to cover his eyes, 'She's so dominate, I hate it. She treats me like a lost puppy dog', he finished dropping his head down to the ground. Katty let out a small smile and then hugged him. He put his arms around her.
'I'm sorry, I really don't know what came out over me', he said apologetically. Katty ran her hands up and down his back trying to relax him. He placed his head on her shoulder and took deep steady breaths for a few moments. He felt his heart beating against hers. The moment was becoming intimate and it was getting slowly awkward.
'Billie its alright. Just, relax now and forget about her, she's gone. She just a memory now', she told him, calmly getting him back to being how he was.
During this Mike was watching them from the door getting the wrong idea. He wondered why Katty would do this to him. They had been dating for months now and all of a sudden she was all over Billie. His best friend. Now his worst enemy. He stepped back from the door and walked back to the hallway to where the rest of them where. He walked in with a serious but sad look on his face.
'Mikey whats wrong?', Pippet asked him. He shook his head.
'Mike come on tell me whats wrong', She asked him again. He took a seat down on the couch and crossed his arms, still continuing to be silent. He looked up noticing what Pippet and Tre we're doing.
'What happened to you?', he asked his attitude changing all of a sudden.
'Its nothing, OUCH TRE!', Pippet squealed. Tre winced as he wiped the blood from her lip being careful.
'She got herself into a fight', Tre told Mike. Mike stood up.
'Are you alright?', he asked curiously wondering how this could have happened in a few minutes. She smiled.
'Yeah I'm fine. How's Billie?', she asked wondering. She didn't want to make it to obvious that she cared so much for him since she knew he didn't see her that way.
'His fine', Mike said awkwardly sitting back down. He turned on the tube and let his eyes relax onto it. Tre snickered, wiping the last of the blood from Pip's face before he put ice on her eye.
'That should be alright for now. If it starts hurting come and tell me alright?', he said, giving her the TLC she needed. She smiled and told them both she was going to check up on BJ.
She walked out of the lounge down the hall where she bumped into Katty.
'OMG WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?', Katty exclaimed. Pip looked down. She didn't want attention from what had happened before hand.
'Go ask Tre he'll tell you everything', she said before she slowly walked to where she knew Billie would be. Katty continued down to the lounge and took a seat in Mike's lap.
'Hey Mikey', she said all bubbly putting her arms around him. Mike stayed in the same attitude he was before, wondering why she was like this.
'I'm fine', he stuttered out. She placed her hands on his shoulders and rested her head against him.
'You don't seem it', she said intriguingly. He looked at her, his eyes dull in colour, unlike they were usually.
'Its fine', he told her remaining silent after that. He placed and arm around her so she wouldn't get the wrong idea and the two sat together for the rest of night, eventually falling asleep lightly on the couch together with the TV buzzing lightly in the background.
-IN THE BACK ROOM-
'Why'd you let her do that to you?', Billie asked taking a look at Pippet's eye.
'I had no choice she lashed out at me Bill', she replied putting the ice back onto it. Billie bit his lip.
'I'm so sorry'.
'Its fine, it wasn't your fault'.
'I should have stayed then this wouldn't of happened'.
'Don't worry about me I'll be fine, I'm here trying to worry about you.
Billie smiled. He liked the attention he usually got from people but this time it was different. It was from a friend. Someone he could tell the way he felt and trust she wouldn't tell anyone.
'Do you want to talk about it?', she asked, talking a seat on the bed. He said down beside her.
'Like I told Katty, I guess I just snapped cos I realized she was just taking advantage of me', he told her almost remorsefully.
She bit her lip and rubbed his back slowly in small circles. This was strange. A little too creepy. They had been like this the day Billie's father had died. Two children, 10 and 9, confiding in each other. Billie put an arm around her trying to hold back tears.
'But I loved her. Why did it have to end like this?', he asked Pip as if he wanted an answer. He looked up into her eyes looking deeply into them searching for an answer. She couldn't give an answer he wanted to hear back.
'Maybe it was just fate Billie', she suggested, 'Don't worry about it though, if she's like that it's probably best she's not with you anymore'. She fiddled around with his shirt tag being the only real thing she could play with without having to let go of the ice she was holding. She laid down on the bed letting Billie lay next to her. He rested his head on her stomach letting tears come out slowly while she played with his hair. She felt the water seep through her shirt onto her skin. He tried to hold the tears back but the more he tried the more came out.
'Billie if you have to cry, just cry', she told him, resting her hand on his back. He started to let the tears roll out.
'WHY ME? WHY IN SEPTEMBER?', he asked crying for an answer, 'WHATS WRONG WITH ME?', he finished closing his eyes.
'Nothing is'.
'There has to be'.
'There isn't'.
'There is, its like my world wants to end'.
'It doesn't you're taking this to far now'.
He closed his eyes and took small deep breaths in and out getting his heart beat back to normal.
'Pippet... ..Pippet', he said trying to get the girls attention. He got no answer.
'Pippet', he called out to her softly. She didn't reply him. He moved his head and looked up at her. She had her eyes shut.
'Pippet', he tried once more. It was no use the girl was asleep. He moved his head back to where it was originally and shut his eyes as well talking to himself out aloud as he thought.
'I wonder why she's being so nice? There must be something going on I don't know about', he's thoughts continued to run though his head until he fell asleep against her, staying with her for the night... ...
'What?', he asked hearing his name being called, but being himself he continued walking away from her.
