A Note Don't Come Easy, chapter 41

Brushing my self-dry and flicking the ends of my wet hair from just having gotten out of the shower, I walked across my room, thinking about Billie Joe.

Again.

It was just so weird him not being around. The sun shone brightly through the window from off of the balcony, lighting up the room and making me wince a little from the brightness of it. Sure it was sunny, but still bitter cold. It was still before spring, the part of the year that I hated because it was so cold.

Stepping lightly across the room in bare feet, I swept my hair into a wet ponytail - pulling my hair band tightly around my knuckles before securing it.
Bending down and picking up items of clothing from off of the floor, a knock came to the door.
Guessing that it was either Mike or Tre, I threw the clothes out of my hand and onto the bed before walking towards the door.
Turning the lock, I tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear, to be suddenly greeted with someone suddenly pressing their lips against mine.
My eyes widened in surprise before we parted, Billie Joe stepping in at a jog and closing the door behind him.
"Billie - " I cried out in surprise. "I thought you weren't coming back until tomorrow."
"I wasn't." He smiled, standing ever so close in front of me. "But Adrienne had planned a day out with one of her friends so instead of waste time bumming around my house I thought I'd come back and spend it with you."
Smiling to myself I let him kiss me once again before he pulled a bunch of flowers from out behind his back.
"Oh Billie... " I gasped, taking them in my hand. "They're so beautiful... "
"Hmmm." He hummed to himself in deep thought. "Just like you."
I blushed, feeling myself turn red as he smiled sweetly to himself.
I walked over to the desk and placed the flowers on the top near the mirror, turning back round and pressing my body against Billie's as I hugged him.
"I've missed you so much." I told him, holding onto him tight as he wrapped his arms around me and rested his head against mine.
"Me too. All I could think about was you... "
Placing another kiss onto my lips he smiled as I gazed into his eyes. He snaked his arms once again around me, slipping his hands underneath the rim to the back of my jeans as I hadn't put my belt on yet; his cold hands from the outside touching my skin.
Raising his eyebrows mischievously he took his head from off of mine and looked at me curiously.
A smile appeared across his face.
"Are you wearing any underwear?" He asked.
Biting my lip I looked at him from the tops of my eyes.
"No... "

20 minutes later I lay next to a naked Billie Joe, both of us staring at the ceiling from resting on the bed.
He shifted himself closer to me, giving me the room to rest my hand against his bare shoulder.
He closed his eyes, breathing softly as he calmed down from climaxing a few minutes ago.
It seemed like ages that we just lay there together, doing nothing except thinking and being in the other's presence.
I edged my head a little, looking at him from the corners of my eyes.
"You ok?" I asked.
He breathed in deeply. "Hmm-hmmm."
He shifted his body a little facing mine, resting his head on his arm as he lay staring back at me. His lips melted into a hot warm smile.
"Why wouldn't I be? I just made love again to the person who is always on my mind."
Blushing one again I light heartedly tapped him on the shoulder, nudging him in a little embarrassment.
"Stop it... " I smiled.
"What?" He asked, smirking pleasingly. "It's the truth."
"You love Adrienne."
"Yeah," he hesitated before brushing it off. "But I love you too."
I wrinkled my nose playfully, before snuggling into him again. "You're a criminal Billie Joe."
"And why's that?"
"You stole my heart and never gave it back."
He smiled to himself as I closed my eyes and simply lay peacefully against him.
"Well then I guess I'll have to be punished." He added, licking his lips.
I suddenly looked up into his eyes, frowning and pouting a little.
"You've already had your punishment you bad boy so stop asking for more." I told him, trying not to laugh as I buried my face into the duvet.
Grinning, he lent down and put his lips to my ear, whispering;

"But I like it. I like it when you treat me bad and make me feel dirty."

Still trying my best not to laugh I grabbed hold of a pillow and threw it over his head as he snickered.
"You sick fuck." I laughed, hitting him.
"I know." He licked his bottom lip as he watched me dig my face back into the duvet.
He proceeded to nestle his face into the side of my mine.
"But you love me really... " he cooed pressing his lips to the side of my face. "Don't you... "
"Yes, Billie... " I told him, a little more serious now. "I love you."
"And I love you too. And nothing's going to change that."
I hugged round him tightly forever as he softly stroked my arm; I had missed him so much.

So much it was indescribable.

Unconditional.

After a while of just lying in each other's arms once again, Billie turned to look at me.
"Stef, I need to ask you something."
"M'kay." I shrugged, turning to face him too.
He looked a little nervous, like he was hiding something and it also made me feel slightly awkward.

Oh god.

Was this it?

Was now the time he was going to turn around and say that he couldn't go on any more because he loved Adrienne?

Maybe I didn't want to hear this.

He bit his lip as he tried to recollect his thoughts and string them into words. He fiddled with the pillow that was now lying pressed against his chest, tassling the ends over his nimble fingers.
He looked up at me again to speak.
"You love me yeah?"
I looked at him a little unsure, not knowing how to react.

Did he think that I didn't love him?

I loved him more than anything in the world.

"Yeah, of course I do Billie." I assured him. "You know I do and I always will."

But will she when she finds out what happened between me and Adrienne? He thought to himself. What's gonna happen when she finds out that we slept with each other? Sure she's my wife but... I love Stef. I can't hurt her again.

"And you'll always love me no matter what?" He asked, almost pleading.
"Of course I will Billie."
"No matter what happens between us you'll always love me?"
I nodded my head as he repeated myself.
"And no matter how bad I've treated you in the past and maybe for the future when I feel down, you'll always stick by me, and forgive me?"
"Billie... " I almost sobbed. "I've forgiven you already. And you haven't done anything bad. I'll always love you... "
Billie's head was screaming with so many thoughts replying back to my words it hurt him.

Stef, you don't know what I did...

"You've always been here for me... "

... I wasn't last night...

"And I'm forever grateful. I love you so much and even though it seems like I haven't but... I forgave you a long time ago."

... You won't when you find out though...

"And no matter what happens, I'll always be here for you. We're honest with each other from now, remember what we promised?"

... Promised... But the truth hurts. I can't be honest and tell you Stef...

"I love you Billie Joe."

... I love you too Stef...

"I always have and always will do."

... Me too. Me too...

"So remember whenever you feel down, I'll help you get through whatever's troubling you. Like... I was your wife."

... My wife...

"I know we're not married, and we never can be. I'm not trying to take Adrienne's place. I never will. But the rules are pretty much the same, eh? 'Til death do us part, I'll always be here for you and love you Billie Joe."

... The rules are the same... That means I shouldn't love either of them...

... I'm cheating on Stef with Adrienne... I'm cheating on Adrienne with Stef...

... Til death do us part...

... Til death do us part...

I leaned forward and planted a kiss onto his lips, making him smile before he parted his lips to murmur something.
"You promise?"
"I promise."
He smiled again as he kissed me back in return, closing his eyes momentarily before nodding to himself.
"Yeah. 'Til death do us part."
* * * * * * * *
Billie Joe had confused me then, but I just thought nothing more of it. He was like that sometimes, and I knew that he always felt guilty for what happened at the Grammies and after. That's why I never bothered to question him about it.
But I desperately wanted to know how things had gone for him whilst visiting home. But I knew that it really wasn't the time or place to ask. I'd just wait for tomorrow.
For all I knew it might have made things worse. And then again I was the only one to blame for that because it had been my idea that he went to sort things out with Adrienne.
But no matter how much I thought I knew Billie, he still managed to always surprise me.
"I'm taking you out tonight." He had told me. "We need to make some time for us. We haven't been out together for a long time."
"Will Mike and Tre be there?"
He licked his lips in thought. "Yeah, for a bit. But then it will just be us. Just the two of us. We need some time alone. But it's nothing fancy. No need to dress up. It's not the Grammies."
I shot my head at Billie, narrowing my eyes.
"Shit." He cursed himself. "I'm sorry babe, it was figure of speech."

So that's where we sat now, all 4 of us. Mike, Tre, Billie Joe and I at a table in a restaurant down town. And it wasn't just any old restaurant.

It was swank.

I had never even heard of some of the menu dishes before.
And here I was, sitting in my jeans and casual grey top complete with converse.
I felt a little down graded and embarrassed to say the least. Like Billie Joe had said, there wasn't anything fancy in what he was wearing either but at least it looked smart.
It didn't matter what he wore really, it always made him look smart and dressed for anything. It was a bit different when you were a girl.
Mike and Tre sat opposite Billie and I, both doting a coloured shirt each. Mike wore his dark blue evening shirt, the collar turned up Danny Zuko style.
Tre wore a black shirt along with a dark red tie, which neatly sat against his chest as he took off his blazer and placed it across the back of the chair.
And Billie Joe just seemed to make me melt. Wearing a 'Misfits' T-Shirt and a black blazer folded over his frame, he looked so hot.
I had always falling for him, but tonight just seemed to blow me away further more.

He looked so perfected, so cute but yet it was effortless.

He sat next to me, ever so close that he could have practically been sitting on my lap. All 4 us stared at our menus, the many different dishes that were there confusing me and the prices blowing me off of my seat.
Tre put down his menu and left it open on the table, looking at Billie as he was still looking over the menu.
"So, how was home Billie?" He asked the guitarist. "How's Addi and the kids doing?"
Billie put down his menu too and sighed deeply to himself like it was chore or something.
"It was ok. Addi was a bit," he shrugged his shoulders. "I dunno. It was just weird. We'd hadn't had an argument and yet it felt like we had. I dunno what to think. And Jakob's getting pretty dam mouthing." He heartedly laughed.
"It happens to all kids." Mike added, smiling.
"Yeah, I just wasn't expecting it when I got home." Billie laughed, thinking about it.
But that also reminded him of what had happened last night, the way Adrienne had looked at him whilst telling Jakob off, the way she had told him that he was being inconvenient towards his son, the way she had kissed him...

"It's just been so hectic today. I mean, I wasn't expecting you to come home today. The tour doesn't even finish for another 2 months yet. I don't understand why you came home suddenly without even telling me."

"Because I wanted to surprise you."

"I've missed you."

"I've missed you too... "

Shaking off the memory, he pushed it to the back of his mind and focused on the evening out. He didn't want to ruin it.
"So," he said putting away his menu and trying to brush over the subject. "You guys do anything interesting last night?"
"Hmmmm." Mike hummed, glancing at Tre and raising his eyebrow.
I put down my menu and watched as Tre gave Mike a smirk, not being able to stop beaming as the two rock stars looked into each other's eyes.
I started to laugh as Tre pouted towards Mike and leaned in to kiss him on the cheek.
Billie stared to laugh with me, before he nudged me in the arm. "Have I missed something?"
I nodded but couldn't speak to tell him because by now I was in a fit of laughter.
"They didn't have sex did they?" He inquired, biting his lip and smiling.

Oooo the slash of it. Billie has a dirty mind and by the sounds of it actually WANTED Mike and Tre to of had a bit of bondage.

"Very nearly." I giggled before telling him the story. "No, Mike just happened to meet someone last night while we were at the cinema."
"Yeah," Tre added, smiling. "She was really pretty too wasn't she Mike?"
Mike frowned.
Tre winked at him. "She was gorgeous Billie. You should have seen her. I would have had her any day."
"Then why didn't you Mike?" Billie asked, now sitting with his hands clamped together in front of him on the table.
Mike raised an eyebrow at the guitarist. "Trust me Billie, she had more than what people would have bargained for."
I laughed at his comment, adding to the story.
"She was called Trisha." I told Billie, smiling uncontrollably.
"Yes, Trisha was a hot chick though." Tre nodded.
Mike turned to his friend, folding his arms. "And just what happens to rhyme with 'chick' Tre?"
The drummer shrugged his shoulders.
"I dunno."
"Dick." Mike blurted out. "That's what Tre. Dick. Trisha the 'chick' had a dick."
At this point both Billie and I burst out laughing, a few of the people sitting at the other tables turning around to look at us in remorse.
Tre wiggled his eyebrows at Mike before licking his lips seductively.
"What... " Billie cried in between fits of giggles. "You mean... Tre was... he was... "
He couldn't say it from laughing too much. I finished his sentence off for him.
"Yes Billie. Tre was the chick."
Tre suddenly grabbed hold of Mike's head again and pouted.
"Come here and give your wife a great big kiss... " He cooed in the voice of 'Trisha' once again.
Billie had tears streaming down his cheeks in laughter, not being able to control himself. Just watching Mike try and fight Tre off was hilarious.
"Stop it Tre," he yelled fighting the drummer off of him. "People are gonna think we're a couple or something."
"Oh, they have to find out sometime 'Mikey' " Tre told him before kissing on the cheek.
That was it. Both Billie and I were crying with laughter, both taking it in turns to cover up our faces as we laughed uncontrollably at the pair of them.
"And I was the unfortunate one of being their offspring." I told Billie in between laughter.
Mike finally managed to shove the younger member of Green Day off of him, brushing himself down and looking around to see who was staring at him.
And then he changed things around by leaning forward towards Tre and whispering;
"But I'll let you fuck me later tonight bab-ay."
Billie and I couldn't help but laugh again, it was too funny not to. Tre looked at Mike, as the bassist stared back, a twinkle in his eye.
"Stop it you two, you're making my sides hurt." I told them, wiping away my tears and giggling every so often as I tried to calm myself down.
A waiter appeared at the table's side, placing a tray onto the table before giving out 4 glasses and a bottle of red wine Billie had ordered earlier when we had arrived.
Billie Joe thanked him, before taking the bottle and pouring out glasses for every one. He took his glass in his hand and held it in the air.
"Well, I say here's to love, friendship, music, more good times, and the forever more fucking!" He smiled before taking his first gulp of wine.
The other three of us took hold of our glasses, raising them in the air aside Billie and toasting together.
"To love and friendship... "
"Music... "
"Good times... "
Tre licked his lips as we all took a sip of our wine before he added the final toast.
"And forever more fucking... for both couples... "
