Cat And Billie Joe, chapter 1

Cat walked home from school, beads of sweat gathering at her hairline. It had been the last day of school, and she was glad. Her senior year had been very boring, because she didn't have any good classes. She could have skipped that year and went straight to college, but decided against it at the last second. She thought it would be fun, not having to do much of anything, but she had found out it was extremely boring. Lost in her thoughts, she accidentally walked straight into something, and fell onto her butt.
"Watch it!"
"I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention." She apologized.
"Well next ti-." The boy stopped brushing the dirt of his jeans and saw that he was looking at the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. She had short spunky blonde hair and beautiful blue-green eyes and freckles around the bridge of her nose. He held his hand out to her and helped her up.
"Thank you. My name is Cat." She held out her hand and he took it once again. She looked him up and down and relised he was pretty cute... More than cute she noticed, and then he smiled. She couldn't help but grin back at him.
"My name is Billie Joe." He said, dropping her hand, relising he had held on to it longer than he should have.
"Can I walk you home or something?" He asked her, wanting to get to know her.
"Sure, but its only a couple blocks up here." She said.
"I don't mind."
After a minute had passed, quite awkwardly for both of them, Billie joe asked her what Cat came from.
"Well, it's not exactly from my name, people just started calling me that."
"Why? Do you act like a cat?" He grinned, picturing her in his mind walking into a cat litter box.
"Actually, I do... sometimes."
Bille Joe chuckled, "How?"
"Well... oi, this is embarrassing... "
"I won't laugh," Billie Joe promised, turning to her and stopping.
"Well," Cat started to walk again. "I'm really graceful, and I like fish, but I'm allergic to it anyway. And some other things, it's not all that exciting, really." Cat explained.
Billie Joe smiled. He really liked her, and she was so pretty. She must be around 18 or so, and he was 18. Cat started to slow down, so he figured they were nearing her house. He hoped she would invite him in.

Cat spotted her house and indicated that they were there. She watched Billie Joe bite his lip in a really cute way, and look down at his shoes.
"So... " He said, looking up at her.
"Want to come in?" Billie Joe grinned and nodded. Cat lead him up the walk and dug her keys out of her backpack. She unlocked the door and flung it open showing her living room. She walked in and dumped her back pack on the ground next to a chair and led him into the kitchen.
"Want something to drink?" She questioned him.
"Sure... Whaddya have?"
"Ummm... ," Cat opened the fridge a pointed to a half empty bottle of root beer.
"That." She said, smiling.
Billie Joe nodded as she went across the kitchen to get a couple of glasses. He watched her stand on her tip toes and see her shirt lift up above the top of her pants. He looked away and saw the clock that read 4:13. He had to meet Mike and Tre for band practice in 47 minutes.
"Here." Cat smiled as she handed him the glass of root beer. She motioned for him to follow her, so he did. She walked up some stairs, and at the landing she made a right turn in to her room.

Cat liked her room, it was nice and cozy, and well, it was hers. She sat down on the edge of her bed while he stood in the doorway taking in the view. She cocked her head.
"Aren't you going to come in?"
"Yeah, sure." Billie Joe answered.
They sat there for a few minutes, not quite sure what to do, or say.
"Hey, do you want to come with me to my band practice?"
Cat smiled and nodded. She was glad he asked, she liked him.
Twenty minutes later they had already walked to Billie's house and drove his mom's car to Mike's house. Billie opened the door and called out to him.
"Mike! Where the fuck are you?"
"Here!" He yelled back.
Billie Joe rolled his eyes.
"He always does that." He grinned.
Billie took her by the hand and led her the Mike's basement. Cat smiled at his warm, moist hand covering hers, as the butterflys settled in her stomache.
"Hey man, this is Cat." Said Billie, smiling. Mike raised his eyebrows and held out his hand. Cat took it and smiled.
"I'm Mike."
"I know." She grinned.
Later Tre came and made the evening a little more exciting, but Cat kept her eyes on Billie the whole time. She loved how he closed his eyes and sang, almost passionately, and how he smiled and jumped up and down while playing his guitar.

Later that night Billie Joe invited Cat to come see a movie with them.
"Of course I will come, but I will just have to call my mom, otherwise, she's gonna freak. Mike? Can you point me towards your phone?"
"Up the stairs to the left, can't miss it."
"Thanks."
Cat jogged up the stairs and found the phone and dialed her house.
"Hello?"
"Hey mom, it's me, Cat."
"Hey hon, whats going on?"
Cat explained the situation, and her mother was glad she had made some new friends.
She went back down to find the three of them sitting on the couch, all drinking a beer. Tre tossed her one, and she caught it with ease. Billie raised his eyebrows in surprise. He didn't know many girls who could catch like that. Cat plopped down next to Billie, squishing everyone really close together. She leaned forward and rested her head on her hand that was on her knee.
"So, how old are all you guys?"
"Well Mike and I are 18, and Tre is 17," Billie answered for them. "How about you?"
"18." She replied.
"Hey you guys! When are we going to the moooovies?!" Tre whined.
Cat giggled at him, and he smiled. Billie looked at his watch.
"Well, we should probably leave in about 5 minutes."
"I HAVE TO PEE!!!!" yelled Tre as he jumped up and ran out of the room. Billie giggled like a schoolgirl, which got Cat giggling, then Mike joined them. Soon after they all were in Billie's Moms' car heading toward the theater. When they got there Tre and Mike decided to race, and left Cat and Billie behind.
"So, what are we going to see Billie Joe?"
He told her, and she was excited, because it was a horror film, and she loved those. Billie liked that, because maybe he could hold her if she got scared. Billie looked down at his shoe, and bent down to tie it. Cat looked behind her and kept walking. Billie looked up at her and smiled.
"Cat! Look out!" He yelled, just as a car swerved around a corner coming towards her.
