Cat And Billie Joe, chapter 15
~* 3 years had passed, and Billie and Cat hadn't gotten back together. Cat was majoring in Photography, and Billie was on tour. Cat had met Jason, and was currently going steady with him, things were pretty serious. Billie had gotten back together with Adrienne. *~
"Hey, I'm going out to get some shots, so... Whatever." Cat told her roommates Ann, and Barbara.
"Okay! See you later!" Ann yelled.
Cat walked out of their dorm, closing the door quietly. She walked down the hallway, reading peoples' graffitied doors.
This was Cat's last year at college, and she was going to miss it. She had been on the newspaper, taking most of the pictures that they used for it since she had started.
She walked down the hallway, when Jason's door burst open and he jumped out.
"Ha! Missed!" He yelled then looks towards Cat, and he grinned at her sheepishly. Dripping wet, he and his roommate had been playing with water guns. How mature.
"Hey babe!" He wrapped an arm around her and kissed her on the lips.
"Jason... I'm all wet now. Now I'm stealing one of your sweatshirts, because it's fucking freezing outside." She walked into the room and opened his closet door and found a dry SFU sweatshirt.
"Hey Cat." Frank said, lying on his bed, completely soaked.
"Hey Frank." She waved good bye to them and left the college, walked along the streets, snapping pictures along the way. Two hours later, darkness sweeping across the streets, streetlights glowing slightly, she decided to go on back to her dorm.
"Hey Carlotta! Any mail for me?" Cat asked the lady at the front desk.
"Yes, Cat, indeed, a letter from Oakland." She raised her eyebrow and passed the letter to her.
"Oh... Um, thank you." She said, her breath catching in her throat. She started walking in the direction of her room, looking at letter. Finally, she opened it, sitting with her back against the wall next to her dorm bedroom.
Dear Cat,
I know it's been forever. Please. I miss you.
He started to tell her how he had gotten back with Adrienne, but her broke up with her because she knew, and he knew, he could never love her as much as he loved Cat.
She wiped a tear from her eye and crumpled the letter up, without reading anymore.
She stood up, tossing the paper on the ground and opened her dorm door.
"Hey, I'm back. I just needed my DR Pass. I got some great shots." Cat told a studying Barbara.
"Mm hmm. Make sure to show us when they are developed." She said, not looking away from her textbook.
"Sure." Cat nodded. She found her DR Pass. She glance under her bed, hoping to find a candy bar, but instead, found an undeveloped roll of film. She picked it up and twirled it around in her fingers.
"Huh... " She left, anxious to develop her mysterious film.
Cat opened her eyes and turned over so she was facing the wall. Saturday morning, at least she didn't have any classes. She sat up and stretched her arms over her head. Throwing the covers off herself, she walked to the bathroom and started to brush her now very long hair.
She had only cut it about three times since she graduated from High School. It grew very fast, and now almost reached the top of her butt. She washed her face and brushed her teeth, putting a little eyeliner and eye shadow on.
Throwing on a pair of black chucks, jeans, a shirt and her sweatshirt, she grabbed her keys and her purse, which she had out her DR Pass in, and left.
She reached the dark room, and checked the light to make sure no one was there. The previous night she had developed the mysterious film, along with the roll she has shot that night. She had had so much homework that she couldn't wait for them to develop, so she decided that she would do it that morning.
Walking along the inside of the dark room, checking her pictures from last night, she reached they mysterious film.
"Damn you Billie Joe for being so sexy."
All the pictures were of him and her. Laughing, smiling. They were happy. Man, two blows in less than twenty-four hours.
"Wow." She whispered.
There was one shot of Billie playing his guitar—he didn't know she had taken the picture. And it was a great picture, if she said so herself. She gathered all of her pictures, including the ones of Billie and her. She slipped them into two different envelopes, dating them each. She flipped the switch off after she left, so everyone would know it was empty. She turned the corner to find Jason walking towards her.
"Hey! I was just coming to see you. Get any good shots?" She slipped his arm around her waist as she nodded.
"Cool."
"I just need to hang these up, and then we can go." Jason nodded and followed her to her into her dorm. She opened each envelope, examining each and pinning a few of them on her board. Including Billie and her, and Billie and his guitar.
"Who is that?" Jason pointed to Billie. Cat blushed.
"He was my... Eh, old boyfriend." She looked at her shoes.
"Still got a thing for him?" He raised his eyebrow.
"No." She lied.
