Cat And Billie Joe, chapter 16
"Wow... Graduation! We are now, officially, adults!" Cat cheered along with everyone else as the valedictorian finished her speech.
Everyone was called up, and given some special awards. Cat got an award for being a "super photographer" as Jason put it.
They all flung their caps into the air, and wondered off in search of friends and family. Parents presenting graduation gifts and bunches of flowers. Pictures taken, kisses given.
Billie sighed. He was there. He watched Cat graduate. Tucking his hands in his pockets, he sighed again. He turned and walked away towards the bus stop, waiting.

Cat flung her camera over her shoulder, hoping to get some good shots later that day. But first she was going to walk back to her dorm and change. Hands in her pockets she looked all around her. Resting her eyes on the bench next to the bus stop, she saw a young, dark haired man resting his head in his hands. She bent down and lifted her camera to her eyes, focusing the picture. Seconds before she pushed the button, he turned around. She still snapped the picture, she had already been in the movement when he turned. She sighed, stood up and looked down at her camera, tiny rain drops hitting the pavement. She shoved her camera in her purse, so it didn't get to wet, and looked up at the young man, who was now standing, facing her.
"Billie?" She whispered when she finally got a look at him.
"Um... How—how are you?" He said, stuttering a bit.
"Good, good. You?" She asked, looking at him straight in the eyes. Those green eyes.
"Fine. No, I lied. I suck." He said.
"I missed you Cat. I still do. I'm still in love with you. You know that?" He told her. She could see in his eyes he wasn't lying.
"Billie, don't do this to me. I just graduated. I'm okay now. I'm not over you yet. Not even close. But I was almost okay with it now." It started to pour, which was weird for San Francisco. She didn't know if she was crying, or if it was just raindrops falling from her face.
"Please Cat. Let me try again. One more chance. Just one." He pleaded.
"I... I can't" She whispered.
"Why not?" He almost yelled, but caught himself in time.
"Because... Because of... Jason." She whispered his name at the end, looking at her feet again.
"I have to go." She pushed past him and started to run towards her dorm.
"Cat! Please!" He ran after her. Turns out Cat sucks at running while upset. He caught her arm and spun her around.
"Please Cat. Please." She shook her head, looking at the ground. This is where she made a big mistake. She looked up into his eyes. Before she knew it her arms were wrapped around him, his around her, their lips pressing against each other. Each kiss more frantic than the next, he smiled into her lips.
"Cat?" Some one said. They parted, and looked at the person who had said her name.
"You!" Jason yelled, "You're the one in those pictures!"
"You have pictures of me?" Billie grinned slightly. She elbowed him in the stomach slightly. This was not the time to act like a moron.
"Oomph." He clutched him stomach slightly.
"You, you. FUCKER!" Jason yelled a leaped at Billie Joe.
"Jason! No! Get off of him!" She tried pulling them apart, but Jason swung at Billie. She heard a crack, and a groan as Billie clutched his jaw.
"Fuck, man." He whispered then punched Jason, in which the taller man fell. Billie could punch. Hard.
Jason held his nose and stood up as people came running over.
"What the fuck man?" Said one of Jason's friends.
After everything had been settled, Cat helped Billie to her dorm. Thankfully, both of her roommates were out, and would probably be out until the early morning hours. She set Billie on her bed, him still clutching his now swollen jaw.
"Stay here for a sec. I'll be right back." Cat told him, walking into the bathroom. She came out seconds later with a wet cloth, cut medicine, and a one-time use cold pack. She wiped his jaw with the cloth, it had bleed pretty good. Billie whimpered.
"You are such a drama queen. You always were." She shook her head slightly. She finished it up and held the cold pack to his face.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have hit him." He said, and took her hand in his.
"No, he hit you first. You had the right to hit him." She squeezed his hand.
"You can crash here tonight. It's late, and it's a long way back to Oakland." She told him.
"Thanks. So... About those pictures...?" He smiled slightly. She pointed to her board and he looked up and smiled.
"Those are really good." He stood up, taking the cold pack with him. He walked over tot he board, examining each picture carefully.
"I'm really tired... " He said, turning towards her.
"Me too. Come on." She stood up and found some bottoms, and a shirt and changed. He slipped his pants off but left his boxers and shirt on. She slipped into bed and invited him with her.
"You want me in your bed with you?" He said, pointing at the bed.
"Yes. I think it will be okay." She said while sighing. He smiled a bit and climbed in. He spooned her, and she took his arm and wrapped it around her waist.
"You know I still love you, right?" He whispered into her ear.
"Yeah... I think you told me earlier." She whispered back.
"Oh, I wasn't sure if I had or not."
"I still love you too Billie Joe." He smiled into her hair.
