My Truly Chemical Romance, chapter 8
*The next morning around 10 AM*
"Sonia! Babe get up! We got to go!" Gee said tickeling me untill I opened my eyes.
"Hey." I said sitting up with a slight yawn.
"Go get dressed. Everyones waiting with your stuff in the tour bus. Look out your window!" He said as he put his arm around me and walked me to the window.
"Oh my god! Its a house on wheels!" I said looking outside where I saw a huge tour bus with My Chemical Romance written on the side.
"Yeah." He said as he walked back over to the couch, "Now go get dressed and I'll wait here."
"Okay." I said as I kissed him on the cheek.
I walked into my room and got dressed in the clothes I had left out the night before. I was ready to go. I went back into the living room to find Gee messing with my PS2.
"Hey can we take this on the bus?" He asked as I sat down on the floor next to him.
"Sure! I'll go get some games." I said helping him unplug some of the wires.
"Thanks hun!" He said finally releasing all the chords.
"All I really have is The Sims, The Urbz, and a south park racing game. Is that alright with you?" I asked while rumaging through a drawr.
"Yep! I love the sims! He said as he got up and opened the door for me.
"Okay! Ready to go?" I asked walking over to him.
"Yep!" He said as I went out the door with him and locked it.
We walked outside where we went into the bus. It looked even bigger on the inside.
"Ooooooooo PS2!" Frankie said as he grabbed the game system to go set it up.
"Ok group meeting!" Gee called across the bus. Everyone gathered aroung the so called living room area in the back of the bus.
"Ok! Our first show is tonight in New York at the Pepsi Arena. Also just so everybody knows the two larger bunks are for me and Sonia and Frankie and Cassie. The rest of you get the single bunks." Gee said in his leader-ish voice. I loved it when he did that.
After about 4 hours I was really starting to like life on the tour bus. The driver was really nice and now everyone was doing their own activities. Mikey, Bob, and Ray were playing the south park racing game, Cassie and Frankie were slurping on a double-strawed strawberry milkshake, and me and Gee were cudleing in our bunk watching a chuckie movie. Soon after the movie was finished we arrived at our venue. We all walked in (except for Frankie and Cassie who skipped arm in arm) and went backstage where we met up with the opening band The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. They went on immediatly. Suddenly Mikey pulled me asside.
"Listen you go on towards the end of the show ok?" He said, "Now you know your song and everything right?"
"Yeah of course!" I said walking back to sit with Gee, Cassie, and Frankie.
"Okay!" he said.
I sat down next to Gee who was waiting to get his make-up done.
"Kay this make-up ladys never gonna get here." He said tapping his feet impatently.
"Ok I'll just do it then!" I said grabing a brush and some eyeliner.
"Thanks much babe!" he said giving me a kiss.
"Oh my god your doing my make-up from now on! This is great!" he said after I finished.
"Thanks!" I said smileing.
"No thank you!" He said giving me a big hug before he was called on stage.
"Love you! And good luck for later!" He said as he climbed the stairs onto the stage.
From then on I sat nervously eating assorted cheeses and talking to the lead singer, Karen-O, of the opening band.
"God! I'm so nervous!" I said to her.
"Don't worry! Just picture everyone in the audience in their underwear! It works for me!" Karen said smileing.
"Ok!" I said hoping her advice would work.
Suddenly I heard the stage managers voice.
"Sonia your on!" She said as I got up.
I stood backstage and heard Gee introducing me.
"People we have a very special treat for you tonight!" He said as everybody screamed, "So put you hand together for the lovely SONIA!"
Everyone cheered as I walked out onto the stage.
"Good luck" Gee whispered in my ear as he gave me the mike. This was it. I had taken the plunge.
