Age Is Only A Number!, chapter 1
Katie Burke was walking to school. She was your average 15 year old girl, loved punk music, had braces, her hair was forever in a mess and she had a degree of insecurity. Also like every other girl she had a crush on someone, but sadly he was 5 years older than her and couldn't stand her. She had on a school uniform but over it her favourite black trench-coat, one of the deputy heads of her school Mr Harris said once 'nicely' to her "You know that the nazi's wore coats like that" she chose too ignore it and purposefully wore it too annoy him. In her school she was a academic and also hated among the annoyance of jocks and cheerleaders but chose too ignore them aswell as the authority that is Mr Harris and Mr Kampf of as her and her fateful friends called him 'The Kampf'. She had a shoulder bag with quite a few bag-patches and badges aswell as a line of badges on the lapell of her trench-coat.
Before she got to school she decided to go to a place she hung out in with her friends from time to time, 924 Gilman Street. It was a place that held concerts for the underground punk scene and at day time either had a little concert or just served as a bar. When she got there it was in bar-mode and she also found the person she had a crush on, his name was Mike Dirnt he was part of a punk band called Sweet Children and was 20. She went up to him and reached for his shoulder and tapped on him and he turned round to see her with the biggest grin in the world with hands behind her back squirming o'so slightly. Mike rolled his eyes towards his two bandmates Billie Joe and Tre Cool, they also were grinning but for another reason and sniggering like hell. Mike then rolled his eyes back to Katie and said in a moaning manner "Hi Katie."
Katie replied by sqeauling "Hi Mike" waving her hand like it was going to fall off any moment
"Katie why are you here shouldn't you be at school?" Mike asked half-concerned half wanting the child to go away
"I came here too see you, isn't that just so punk" Katie answered
"Look, just by turning up here does not mean your punk, and also school is right now more important" Mike told her grabbing her hand and leading Katie towards the door
"Get off my hand" Katie screeched fighting her hand from Mike's firm grasp, she got free and caressed her hand "What if I decide I hate school and never want to go back"
"You have to so you can become whatever you want to be" Mike told her in the way that made her feel 2 again trying to take her hand again
"Look I want to be here with you and your friends" Katie said folding her arms protesting
"Theres an age difference between us, your too young" Mike told her
"I'm in high school" Katie protested
"I'm in college and your in your first year at high school" Mike argued back
"OK I'll go but you haven't seen the last of me" Katie shouted stomping off and going out of Gilman
"Dude how do you know her again?" Tre asked raising his eyebrows
"She's a family friend we have to see eachother a bit and also she lives on the same street as me" Mike answered sighing and sitting down putting his hand through his hair
"She's not that bad she justs want to be one of us" Billie Joe defended Katie
"You're on crack" Mike argued and before Billie Joe could answer he said "Don't answer, trust me she is so annoying sometimes"
Katie carried on walking to school wiping tears away from her eyes, she checked her watch and saw that she was late, she quickened up her pace and she got there and sgned in. She looked up to find The Kampf there tapping his foot staring at her with the infamous Kampf glare. She was about to give him a reason why she was late but before she could Rabbi Kampf said in his monotoned voice "You are late Miss Burke"
"Yes I know but I.." Katie hesitated but didn't give her reason in time fro the Kampf to reply saying "I don't like late people"
"Sir sorry it won't happen again" Katie replied head down trying to get sympathy
"Sympathy won't work, detention in room 17 now get to lessons" The Kampf told her still in a mono-toned voice
"Yes sir" Katie replied zipping off to lessons grabbing hjer red slip for detention, her first lesson was D.T with Mr Ade, people swore that they saw him drill in his own hand and that why he had a broken arm but sadly Katie was there too see what actually happened he was angry and slammed a metal cupboard way too hard and he forgot too move his arm, wasn't scary just inevitable for him.
She arrived at the lesson and Mr Ade had a usual screaming rant too her, she gave the red slip too him, he examined it too see if it was fake and he gave it back to her and she sat down next to her best friend Aaron. Aaron was always there for her, and she was always there for Aaron, they had known eachother since the beginning of middle school and were the closest friends ever and a lot of people wondered why they had never gone out on a date just gone out together as friends hanging out and messing around but they just didn't feel that way about eachother Aaron thought of Katie as just 'one of the guys' and vice-versa for Katie. Aaron looked at Katie for a second as she sat down and unpacked in a concerned way. "Katie whats up with you, you seem down" he asked
"I'm fine just annoyed at being late I guess" Katie told him
Aaron could see through her like glass and said "You've been crying haven't you, you can't hide from me I am all knowing"
"Okay you got me Sherlock I have been crying, whatcha gonna do about it" Katie asked
"I'm gonna ask if your gonna tell me, so are you" Aaron replied
"Look I went to Gilman, saw Mike and he pushed me out to get me out of his way" Katie told Aaron
"It'll be fine trust me" Aaron told her putting his arm around her shoulder comforting her, Mr Ade had gone out the room which gave a chance for the rest of there classmates to sing there tune they always sang to Aaron and Katie "Aaron loves Katie, Aaron loves Katie" it was this time sung by an bitch in there class by the name of Robin. Katie stood up and went up to Robin's desk and did something she would later regret, her fist went up in the air and 'accidentally' went into Robin's face
