Age Is Only A Number!, chapter 11
Katie arrived at her house and her parents did get kind of angry, not at her getting drunk but at her running off without telling them. She was okay by noon though, she had to be because she was going to the gallery where her exhibition would be. She got changed into her jeans she never wore and a black top, she tried to make the impression she wasn't a rebel or a bad girl, she wanted to make an impression that she was neat and conservative(even though she wasn't). She had to make this impression on the owner of the gallery otherwise he might not let her do what she wanted. She had so much to do with so little time; she had to make sure the food was good to go, she had to make sure her paintings and photographs were hung up in the right place and still intact, she had to make sure that the curator of the gallery wasn't going bother her (whenever she went he always bugged her for 'shabby clothes') she got a leather jacket on and picked up her school bag with the information for the exhibition in it. She caught a bus to the museum and read through some of the information, she saw she had to get off and looked at her watch. It was 12.50 and she was supposed to be there at 12.40 and the manager would care a bit but it was the curator that saw a problem with it. She ran off and ran to her meeting; this was a bad day to wear ballet pumps.
She got there panting and went in, the manager seemed kind of peeved but the curator gave Katie that look that could kill. She sat down and took her folder out that had all the information in it. She looked around and saw all her paintings were there just needed to be hung in the right place. The manager Tim said "Why are you late?"
"Short story I got drunk, Long story my friend let me stay but I was out of it when he took me to his house" Katie explained, the curator Richard was not satisfied with the answer and showed it by rolling his eyes. "So, who is the caterer again" Tim asked Katie. "Its Jason Milan remember" Katie told him.
"And the food is restricted to appetisers am I correct" Tim carried on.
"Yes and its nut-free, eco-friendly and no artificial flavours, I have thought of everything and before you ask there are vegetarian options" Katie explained to Tim. Tim and Katie then started to decide where to hang things, Richard had some ideas but they were to art deco for Katie's taste. They sorted out a few other things, like when guests would start arriving and when the speech would start and when they would leave and various other administrations. When she finally finished all the administrative business it was mid-afternoon, she didn't have much lunch so she was quite cranky. She thought it was all over but it wasn't, she sorted out all she needed on paper she just needed to sort it out in the real world. She started helping the guys hang the pictures up and helping the waiters set up the food.
Mike was at home with Billie Joe and Tre all trying to change there children's nappy's but were failing miserably. While Ramona was kicking Tre like he did as a baby, Mike was trying to find the bit to stick them together; Billie Joe was gracing through but did end up with talcum powder all over him and his clothes. The trio were lost without there wives who were busy chatting in Mike's kitchen. "So what time is the exhibition tonight?" Tre asked.
"It's 7.30 tonight" Billie Joe answered trying to get Joey back into his clothes; he had to admit the boy had spunk. "Wait, are we bringing the kids with?" Mike asked.
"Sure as long as they don't cry their eye's out" Tre answered, they all then tried to get the kids to stay still, it was easy for Estelle and Ramona but Joey was all over the place trying to break free from the shackles that were nappies. He did and the guys got to see his little butt.
Katie was having so much trouble with Richard it was unbelievable. He did everything to make sure she was on the edge, she found out that one of her paintings was lost and was one of the stars of the exhibition, she then found that the vegetarian food wasn't actually nut-free and her little brother was allergic to them, then she found that the Richard would actually be there. The worst thing about it was that she knew it was all Richards fault; the guy was just a straight-up prick. She was on the brink of crying when Richard said "You know you can just give up now and get away with your pride."
"No, that's what you want me to do, I'm not giving up, and it's over when I say its over." Katie told Richard, she had a boost of confidence then and it was brought down by Richard saying "You know you only have half an hour to get ready and it takes you 20 of those minutes to get to your house" she was about to cry, this guy was a absolute ass and it somehow made him feel good to make a 20 year old girl cry over her very first art exhibition. Tim then came to the rescue and reminded her "You do know that you left me with your outfit and make-up for tonight, remember you wanted to keep it here if you forgot it or were late." She could have kissed Tim but sadly he was married, he then took out a plastic bag and Katie hugged him and took the bag from him. She stuck out her tongue at Richard and then went into the toilet to get changed.
Mike changed into a casual suit and drove him, Anastasia and Estelle to the gallery, he got there and saw Billie Joe and Tre each with there wives and kids. They nodded at each other and went inside, they had a look round and saw everything went as to plan. The pictures looked amazing, the food was great and most of all the host was stunning. Tre went up to Katie and saw what she was in, she had a beautiful black spaghetti strap dress that went up to her knees and had a slit in the side. Her hair was neatly clipped back to reveal her smoky eyes and her beautiful smile, Tre thought she was stunning and greeted her by saying "Hey Katie, this looks amazing."
"Thanks, you look handsome too, I hope you enjoy the paintings and food and thank you for coming" Katie said, the last bit seemed rehearsed to Tre; she noticed his face and said "I was told to say the last bit to everyone." He smiled at her comment, she looked at his smile, and it was so natural not like some of the smile's she received from others where they were fake and rehearsed, his was natural. It seemed he was genuinely interested in what she was saying instead of acting like she was a child. "So, is this all your work" Tre asked.
"Yes, it's all the pictures from when I got the scholarship till now" Katie replied, she had the weirdest feeling, a sensation went through her body, butterflies went through her body, everything Tre said was beautiful and every time he smiled her heart skipped a beat.
Tre went off to find Claudia and Katie fell back to reality, she saw Abi and went up to her, Abi looked around and then said to her best friend "Now don't worry when your head gets bigger than this room I'll deflate it" Katie laughed at her friends joke and said "Thanks so much for your support"
"I was looking at you with Tre, you like him don't you" Abi asked Katie, she hated when Abi was right and that was a lot of the time and she then answered "Okay so I do, I know it's never gonna work he's a married boy." The twosome circled round the room meeting and greeting people, it tired them out and they tried not to get themselves drunk, they also had to talk to Richard a couple of times about the waiters. Abi separated from her and she came across Mike who looked confused as hell. "What's up with you?" Katie asked, Mike snapped back and said "You know one of your pictures... "
"Which painting?" Katie asked, she probably knew which one he was talking about but she asked anyway. "The one with me topless" Mike answered with a tone of anger in his voice. "I'm sorry about that, I didn't want you to know, it was for my 'Identity' project and to be fair it has different colours from the average human and no-one knows it you because it was before you were famous" Katie explained. She knew Mike was angry at her and she didn't want him to be angry and so she said "I'm sorry I knew I shouldn't have done it." She started walking off when Mike put his hand on her shoulder and she stopped, "Don't worry about it, it's kind of flattering" Mike told her, it made her feel so much better. She walked away from Mike and he looked at the picture and back at Katie, he knew it wasn't when he liked her but didn't know when. He spent a moment thinking about it and he couldn't pin-point it but it did flatter him.
Katie was holding a drink in her hand swirling it checking for the amount of alcohol, she learned the trick from one of her fellow classmates; nearly all of them had a posh background and were an only child while she was one of four and was from an All-American family. She was looking at the ruby red of her wine when Billie Joe went up to her and said "You know that you'll bump into something if you stare at your glass all day." She looked up and looked and saw Billie Joe smiling, there was a charm to him when he smiled and made her smile and say "Hey, enjoying yourself."
"Ye, I love the pictures, especially that photo of the hobo with a glass of champagne in his hand" Billie Joe replied
"Ye I loved doing that, he was one nice hobo, the payment was drinking the champagne to him" Katie told him. Billie Joe knew something was up just couldn't pin-point it but she had a glazed look in her eye's and so he asked "What's wrong, you seem kinda dazed?" She didn't know how to answer him without saying 'I'm in love with your best mate who's married' so she instead answered mysteriously "Much ado about nothing." Billie Joe didn't know what to say, he always knew she was a tough one to go around and she just got more mysterious each time he spoke to her. He did manage though to say "Get back to me when you speak English"
"Basically, there's nothing wrong and I just look it" Katie answered, she regretted saying that because then Billie Joe would inevitably say "There's something wrong tell me"
"It's nothing, I'm not good in the love department anyway" Katie told him, she let it slip out but not fully. Billie Joe was intrigued by this comment; he then ventured into it and asked "So who's the guy you like?"
"The only thing I'm saying is that you know him" Katie told Billie Joe, it didn't give him enough to go on but he started thinking. Katie then made the mistake to look at Tre while she was saying her clue. Billie Joe followed her gaze and saw she was gazing at Tre, he put two and two together and figured she loved Tre, he then said to her "You know Tre is happily married"
"I know, but can't stop me dreaming" Katie said then saying "You won't tell anyone will you"
"Don't worry your secret's safe with me" Billie Joe told her, Katie then hugged Billie Joe. Adrienne came over and said "Its 10.30, Joey is asleep, we need to go"
"Sure, bye Katie" Billie Joe said to Katie, he outstretched his hand and Katie shook it, Billie Joe winked at her and walked off with Adrienne to go home.
It was 11pm and the end of the exhibition, various people said goodbye to Katie and all that was left was her, Abi and Aaron. Both her best friends were staying over at Katie's. Tomorrow they had to say goodbye to each other because Abi had to get back to Yale and Aaron and Katie had to get back to there apartment's on campus. They hated saying goodbye to Abi but it had to be done, they already had planned to live in New York with each other. But until then Katie was stuck with a crazy roommate and a normal one and Aaron was with one party-animal of a roommate. They stayed for 10 minutes to help clean up and then went back to Katie's arm in arm. They had shared so much together they all survived the first pain of true love; they were there for each other when they got bullied, they were there to survive crazy and stupid teachers, and most of all they were there for each other no matter what. They got to Katie's house and got changed into there pyjamas. Katie laid a sleeping bag for Abi but Aaron had to sleep on the couch for reason that her mum didn't say but were obvious to the trio. Katie's mum knew she wasn't a virgin anymore but her dad was yet to know and she was scared as hell to tell her dad.
It was midnight by then and the only people awake were Abi and Katie, they decided to prank Aaron, they knew from past sleepovers and other sources (his mum never could keep a secret) that Aaron slept without a shirt. They sneaked downstairs and got some ice in a glass. Abi opened the door and Katie crept in with the glass of ice in her hand. She looked in and saw Aaron getting changed, his back was facing them and he was pulling up his underwear, Abi's head poked through and they both saw Aaron's butt, and my was it a nice butt. Aaron looked between his legs and saw Abi and Katie. He turned around and there was little Aaron with him. Abi and Katie could not stop laughing, Aaron finally pulled his underwear up and then shouted at the duo "Katie, Abi you know I could kill you on the spot." He got his pants on and hit Abi and Katie on the arm. He got his shirt on and kicked Abi and Katie; the two girls were practically rolling with laughter. Abi stopped laughing and so did Katie, they noticed this may be one of the last time's they pull pranks on each other and play around. This time next year they would be in the line of work, Katie planned to be a photographer, Abi a lawyer and Aaron a social worker. The three of them realised this and sat there in silence, they looked over the past decade they had known each other for, and "Remember the time when we were 12 and we met Aaron" Katie reminded Abi and Aaron. They started reminiscing
Twelve year old Abi and Katie were at there first day at middle school. They looked like twins at the time, same hair, same clothes, and same sense of humour. They walked into the school arm-in-arm; they didn't know anyone else but each other. No-one from there elementary school went to there middle school, they were kind of glad because most of the people in there class weren't nice. They were given there timetable and locker key and number and were basically set loose onto the school like a mouse let loose in a snakes cage. They were so confused on where to go, they figured out where there lockers were just not how to get to lesson from them. They got to first period and it was English, there teacher was around 7ft tall and had a huge mole below his nose. He was called Mr Eaton and he also had a little weedy scarf around his neck. He reminded Abi and Katie of Mr Bumble in Oliver Twist. The lesson was over but the push was just beginning, the school was huge and they were just pawns in the chess game that was middle school. Second period was History and that was just painful to listen to the teacher drone on and have his stench in the room with the windows broken and bolted shut to the window ledge. They got out of the lesson and it was break-time, they sifted through the crowd and got to there lockers. They got to there lockers when a locker door smashed into Katie's face, one of many that would happen in the future. The boy behind the locker door saw Katie on the floor massaging her nose; he knelt down and helped Katie up. "Sorry this is my first year, I didn't see you" The boy explained.
"Its okay trust me, I'm Katie, what's your name?" Katie asked, the boy helped up Katie and answered "I'm Aaron." Abi got to her locker and put her jacket into it, she noticed Katie talking to Aaron and introduced herself "I'm Abi if you didn't know."
"Hey, I'm Aaron" Aaron told Abi and they shook hands.
They reminisced some more and realised how much they had done since they met. Abi and Katie decided to get sleeping bags down and sleep downstairs, they stayed up for hours talking about everything imaginable. They fell asleep eventually though. They woke up at 8am and Abi had to be at the station by 10am, Katie went into the kitchen with her mum there tapping her foot "You said you wouldn't be in the same room as him" her mum told her.
"We didn't do it, c'mon you can trust me" Katie told her mum, Katie got herself a drink and looked on the fridge and saw a picture of her at 5 and Mike was 10. It reminded her of a better time between her and Mike, she smiled and her mum saw her face and she said "Your still crushing on Mike aren't you."
"No, it's just that picture reminds me of a time where we were friends, now he thinks I'm a freak and he is married with a kid while I'm failing every relationship that has come near me" Katie explained. She closed the fridge and sat down next to her mum. Abi and Aaron came in both as frazzled as Katie. Katie's mum stood up and got a book out, the threesome recognised it, and it was a scrapbook that Abi and Katie made when they were 10. It was like a story in pictures and it had comments by the side like 'I can't believe we did that' and 'The guy that was with us was a twit.' Katie's mum then said "I thought it would be nice for you to finish it off before Katie turns 21." It meant a lot to Katie and Abi that her mum scraped it out of Katie's room. They spent the rest of the afternoon getting pictures from anyway and everywhere and stuck them in the last pages that were left. There last pictures would be the marriage pictures, no matter how many each of them had between them.
Aaron had to go and sort out some forms for his course leaving Abi and Katie to sort out the pictures. They went in the lounge and carried on sorting the pictures out. Billie Joe came round with Joey and Katie's mum opened the door to Billie Joe and he went into the lounge and saw Katie and Abi sorting out pictures. He sat on the sofa while they were on the floor, they took a minute to realise he was there with Joey when Joey decided that the pictures were for drooling off. It took a while for Abi and Katie to notice Billie Joe there and they finally did. "Hey Billie" Abi greeted, she turned position towards Billie Joe and he replied "Hey, so do you two wanna look after Joey for the afternoon."
"Sure" Katie answered
"So, you two are going into the world of work next year" Billie Joe reminded Abi and Katie, they dreaded the thought of it and Katie said so by saying "Don't remind us, the thought of it gives me the shivers"
"C'mon it can't be that bad, what are you to aiming for then" Billie Joe asked
"I'm hoping for a photographer and Abi is aiming for a lawyer" Katie told Billie Joe while cleaning up the photos. She picked up Joey and sat him on her lap and starting playing around with his hands. "Cool, well I have to go see you guys" Billie Joe bid the girls goodbye and left.
They looked after Joey and played around with him. He was the cutest kid ever to them. They played him some of his dad's stuff and he said "That's my daddy playing!" and he would dance around to it. They looked through some more photos and Joey helped them by not drooling on them, they showed Joey some of them and he liked them all and loved the ones with his dad. They noticed so much of Billie Joe in Joey, he even had Billie Joe's smile, and he sat on Katie's lap and helped sort the photos by having a pile of photos on his lap. The girls had so much fun and Joey had fun as well, they had a few photos they didn't sort out and had a look, they had piles all over the floor that they hadn't noticed the leftovers. They then noticed the photos were of them hanging with Green Day as kids, it made them feel nice. There was one where it was Tre hugging Katie and they both had blue tongues from a sweet that changes your tongue colour and they stuck them out. Katie just gazed at it for ages holding it in front of Joey; Joey looked at Katie and very innocently asked "Do you love Uncle Tre Katie?" Katie just thought to herself 'How is this kid so smart?' and then asked Joey "Joey why do you think that?"
"Because that's what my mummy looks like when she looks at daddy" Joey answered. Katie just decided to admit it to Joey, it wasn't like he would tell anyone and she said "Yes I do love Tre, but don't tell anyone" and she then signalled not telling anyone by putting her fingers to her lips, Joey copied her and said "Don't worry I will be quiet." Abi then reminded Katie "You do notice he's 2 right."
"Ye but he's a smart 2 year old at that" Katie said.
Billie Joe went to pick up Joey; Tre was with him hanging out that afternoon. They arrived at the house and found Katie, Abi and Joey in the living room watching Looney Tunes. They photos were put away and Joey was in between the two girls. Billie Joe came in and said "Hey guys." Joey got off the sofa and went up to his dad and Tre and said "Katie and Abigail have been looking after me real good." Billie Joe ruffled his son's hair and gave a 10 dollar bill to each girl and said "Thanks for the help." Both girls hadn't seen more than $5 in a month and it was like heaven to them. Joey then looked at Tre and said "Guess what uncle Tre." The drummer then knelt down to Joey's level and said to the child "What?"
"Katie loves you" Joey piped up with no guilt or no thought to the statement either, Tre was caught by surprise. Katie could have killed the child, she blushed like hell and Tre looked up at her. It was true, Katie was in love with him, and she felt like she was in high school again. Billie Joe also heard her sons comment and saw Katie's face; she just looked down and hoped it would be over soon but couldn't and looked into Tre's eyes. Billie Joe came side to side to Tre and whispered into his ear "C'mon dude lets go." Tre started walking off with Billie Joe and Joey but he kept his gaze into Katie's eyes and left the house.

"I know, but can't stop me dreaming" Katie said then saying "You won't tell anyone will you"
"Don't worry your secret's safe with me" Billie Joe told her, Katie then hugged Billie Joe. Adrienne came over and said "Its 10.30, Joey is asleep, we need to go"
"Sure, bye Katie" Billie Joe said to Katie, he outstretched his hand and Katie shook it, Billie Joe winked at her and walked off with Adrienne to go home.
It was 11pm and the end of the exhibition, various people said goodbye to Katie and all that was left was her, Abi and Aaron. Both her best friends were staying over at Katie's. Tomorrow they had to say goodbye to each other because Abi had to get back to Yale and Aaron and Katie had to get back to there apartment's on campus. They hated saying goodbye to Abi but it had to be done, they already had planned to live in New York with each other. But until then Katie was stuck with a crazy roommate and a normal one and Aaron was with one party-animal of a roommate. They stayed for 10 minutes to help clean up and then went back to Katie's arm in arm. They had shared so much together they all survived the first pain of true love; they were there for each other when they got bullied, they were there to survive crazy and stupid teachers, and most of all they were there for each other no matter what. They got to Katie's house and got changed into there pyjamas. Katie laid a sleeping bag for Abi but Aaron had to sleep on the couch for reason that her mum didn't say but were obvious to the trio. Katie's mum knew she wasn't a virgin anymore but her dad was yet to know and she was scared as hell to tell her dad.
It was midnight by then and the only people awake were Abi and Katie, they decided to prank Aaron, they knew from past sleepovers and other sources (his mum never could keep a secret) that Aaron slept without a shirt. They sneaked downstairs and got some ice in a glass. Abi opened the door and Katie crept in with the glass of ice in her hand. She looked in and saw Aaron getting changed, his back was facing them and he was pulling up his underwear, Abi's head poked through and they both saw Aaron's butt, and my was it a nice butt. Aaron looked between his legs and saw Abi and Katie. He turned around and there was little Aaron with him. Abi and Katie could not stop laughing, Aaron finally pulled his underwear up and then shouted at the duo "Katie, Abi you know I could kill you on the spot." He got his pants on and hit Abi and Katie on the arm. He got his shirt on and kicked Abi and Katie; the two girls were practically rolling with laughter. Abi stopped laughing and so did Katie, they noticed this may be one of the last time's they pull pranks on each other and play around. This time next year they would be in the line of work, Katie planned to be a photographer, Abi a lawyer and Aaron a social worker. The three of them realised this and sat there in silence, they looked over the past decade they had known each other for, and "Remember the time when we were 12 and we met Aaron" Katie reminded Abi and Aaron. They started reminiscing
Twelve year old Abi and Katie were at there first day at middle school. They looked like twins at the time, same hair, same clothes, and same sense of humour. They walked into the school arm-in-arm; they didn't know anyone else but each other. No-one from there elementary school went to there middle school, they were kind of glad because most of the people in there class weren't nice. They were given there timetable and locker key and number and were basically set loose onto the school like a mouse let loose in a snakes cage. They were so confused on where to go, they figured out where there lockers were just not how to get to lesson from them. They got to first period and it was English, there teacher was around 7ft tall and had a huge mole below his nose. He was called Mr Eaton and he also had a little weedy scarf around his neck. He reminded Abi and Katie of Mr Bumble in Oliver Twist. The lesson was over but the push was just beginning, the school was huge and they were just pawns in the chess game that was middle school. Second period was History and that was just painful to listen to the teacher drone on and have his stench in the room with the windows broken and bolted shut to the window ledge. They got out of the lesson and it was break-time, they sifted through the crowd and got to there lockers. They got to there lockers when a locker door smashed into Katie's face, one of many that would happen in the future. The boy behind the locker door saw Katie on the floor massaging her nose; he knelt down and helped Katie up. "Sorry this is my first year, I didn't see you" The boy explained.
"Its okay trust me, I'm Katie, what's your name?" Katie asked, the boy helped up Katie and answered "I'm Aaron." Abi got to her locker and put her jacket into it, she noticed Katie talking to Aaron and introduced herself "I'm Abi if you didn't know."
"Hey, I'm Aaron" Aaron told Abi and they shook hands.
They reminisced some more and realised how much they had done since they met. Abi and Katie decided to get sleeping bags down and sleep downstairs, they stayed up for hours talking about everything imaginable. They fell asleep eventually though. They woke up at 8am and Abi had to be at the station by 10am, Katie went into the kitchen with her mum there tapping her foot "You said you wouldn't be in the same room as him" her mum told her.
"We didn't do it, c'mon you can trust me" Katie told her mum, Katie got herself a drink and looked on the fridge and saw a picture of her at 5 and Mike was 10. It reminded her of a better time between her and Mike, she smiled and her mum saw her face and she said "Your still crushing on Mike aren't you."
"No, it's just that picture reminds me of a time where we were friends, now he thinks I'm a freak and he is married with a kid while I'm failing every relationship that has come near me" Katie explained. She closed the fridge and sat down next to her mum. Abi and Aaron came in both as frazzled as Katie. Katie's mum stood up and got a book out, the threesome recognised it, and it was a scrapbook that Abi and Katie made when they were 10. It was like a story in pictures and it had comments by the side like 'I can't believe we did that' and 'The guy that was with us was a twit.' Katie's mum then said "I thought it would be nice for you to finish it off before Katie turns 21." It meant a lot to Katie and Abi that her mum scraped it out of Katie's room. They spent the rest of the afternoon getting pictures from anyway and everywhere and stuck them in the last pages that were left. There last pictures would be the marriage pictures, no matter how many each of them had between them.
Aaron had to go and sort out some forms for his course leaving Abi and Katie to sort out the pictures. They went in the lounge and carried on sorting the pictures out. Billie Joe came round with Joey and Katie's mum opened the door to Billie Joe and he went into the lounge and saw Katie and Abi sorting out pictures. He sat on the sofa while they were on the floor, they took a minute to realise he was there with Joey when Joey decided that the pictures were for drooling off. It took a while for Abi and Katie to notice Billie Joe there and they finally did. "Hey Billie" Abi greeted, she turned position towards Billie Joe and he replied "Hey, so do you two wanna look after Joey for the afternoon."
"Sure" Katie answered
"So, you two are going into the world of work next year" Billie Joe reminded Abi and Katie, they dreaded the thought of it and Katie said so by saying "Don't remind us, the thought of it gives me the shivers"
"C'mon it can't be that bad, what are you to aiming for then" Billie Joe asked
"I'm hoping for a photographer and Abi is aiming for a lawyer" Katie told Billie Joe while cleaning up the photos. She picked up Joey and sat him on her lap and starting playing around with his hands. "Cool, well I have to go see you guys" Billie Joe bid the girls goodbye and left.
They looked after Joey and played around with him. He was the cutest kid ever to them. They played him some of his dad's stuff and he said "That's my daddy playing!" and he would dance around to it. They looked through some more photos and Joey helped them by not drooling on them, they showed Joey some of them and he liked them all and loved the ones with his dad. They noticed so much of Billie Joe in Joey, he even had Billie Joe's smile, and he sat on Katie's lap and helped sort the photos by having a pile of photos on his lap. The girls had so much fun and Joey had fun as well, they had a few photos they didn't sort out and had a look, they had piles all over the floor that they hadn't noticed the leftovers. They then noticed the photos were of them hanging with Green Day as kids, it made them feel nice. There was one where it was Tre hugging Katie and they both had blue tongues from a sweet that changes your tongue colour and they stuck them out. Katie just gazed at it for ages holding it in front of Joey; Joey looked at Katie and very innocently asked "Do you love Uncle Tre Katie?" Katie just thought to herself 'How is this kid so smart?' and then asked Joey "Joey why do you think that?"
"Because that's what my mummy looks like when she looks at daddy" Joey answered. Katie just decided to admit it to Joey, it wasn't like he would tell anyone and she said "Yes I do love Tre, but don't tell anyone" and she then signalled not telling anyone by putting her fingers to her lips, Joey copied her and said "Don't worry I will be quiet." Abi then reminded Katie "You do notice he's 2 right."
"Ye but he's a smart 2 year old at that" Katie said.
Billie Joe went to pick up Joey; Tre was with him hanging out that afternoon. They arrived at the house and found Katie, Abi and Joey in the living room watching Looney Tunes. They photos were put away and Joey was in between the two girls. Billie Joe came in and said "Hey guys." Joey got off the sofa and went up to his dad and Tre and said "Katie and Abigail have been looking after me real good." Billie Joe ruffled his son's hair and gave a 10 dollar bill to each girl and said "Thanks for the help." Both girls hadn't seen more than $5 in a month and it was like heaven to them. Joey then looked at Tre and said "Guess what uncle Tre." The drummer then knelt down to Joey's level and said to the child "What?"
"Katie loves you" Joey piped up with no guilt or no thought to the statement either, Tre was caught by surprise. Katie could have killed the child, she blushed like hell and Tre looked up at her. It was true, Katie was in love with him, and she felt like she was in high school again. Billie Joe also heard her sons comment and saw Katie's face; she just looked down and hoped it would be over soon but couldn't and looked into Tre's eyes. Billie Joe came side to side to Tre and whispered into his ear "C'mon dude lets go." Tre started walking off with Billie Joe and Joey but he kept his gaze into Katie's eyes and left the house.
