Age Is Only A Number!, chapter 2
Now Katie wasn't usually the violent one just angry at some points in the day, ye she playfully punched Aaron lightly on the arm when he was an idiot but she few times actually got the courage to punch someone in the face but this time it ground her up so bad she just couldn't control herself. The only other time it happened in school was in the second year of middle school when she punched a guy when he refused to stop saying she was a boy but she whisked back into her seat afterwards, this time she stayed in where she was, Robin stood back up and yes her nose hurt but she didn't care anymore, her hand went up and she slapped Katie so hard that a big red mark was on her cheek. Both girls stood there glaring evil eyes at each other. No-one could believe what had just happened except Mr. Ade who came in just as Robin finished her slap on Katie. Everyone knew when Mr. Ade got mad nothing could stop him, he nearly got fired once because he got so angry, if he got that angry again he would get fired immediately. He started screaming at both girls "What the hell has happened here?"
Robin and Katie said in unison "She started it," pointing at each other with scared looks on there faces hoping that he won't kill them on the spot.
Mr. Ade instead had a shouting rant and sent them both to a full day detention, Robin's friends were in shock and Aaron mouthed to Katie 'Hate to say I told you so' which made Katie feel even worse not only had she landed herself a days worth of detention but her best friend didn't even spell sympathy. Her hand was still hurting from punching Robin. Both girls refused to speak or look at each other as they walked together to detention so Katie decided to end the silence next to each other by walking faster. She was a couple of yards away from Robin when the smaller girl stopped her tracks and asked very simply "Why did you punch me, your never violent?" Katie stopped and without turning round answered "Many reasons the main one was that I hate that chant you always sing when me and Aaron even slightly do a thing"
"Look I swear you fancy the guy" Robin replied walking up to Katie
"I don't he's my best friend, you can be friends with boys you know now lets get to detention before we die" Katie told her starting to walk Robin also walked next to Katie, Robin still had some questions to ask though "Look there was something else up with you, I heard Aaron say something about you crying"
"Ok yes I was crying a bit while I was walking to school why should you care, we're at way different ends of the popular spectrum of school" Katie wondered why Robin cared so much
"What I'm not so mean as people think now tell me" Robin replied
"Its nothing, there's this guy..." Katie started but Robin interrupted with a surprised tone saying "You like someone, you, the one who hangs out with only boys likes one, who is he?"
"I don't just hang out with boys, there's Abigail" Katie replied thinking over in her head 'Wow I only have one girl that is a friend' "You don't know him he goes to college"
"A college guy, cool, name please" Robin approvingly said
"His name is Mike, he's a family friend and in a band called Green Day" Katie answered, they got to detention and found everyone was talking so they were fine, to talk, they gave in there red slips, Katie gave in two and Mr. Nagra the detention minister said to her "Katie we meet again, which teacher did you swear at this time"
"Sir it was once and I was late and me and Robin got into a fight" Katie answered
"Ok well first make-up with each other and sit down, only rule is don't disturb me and obvious no anarchy or arsenistic acts" Mr. Nagra told both of them, Robin was shocked at the last part but Katie shrugged her shoulders and sat down Robin sat next to her too scared for anywhere else and they talked.
Mike spent the day with his band-mates, hanging out, practicing, doing crap he usually does. He was at the others apartment/basment in Ashby, it wasn't the best place in the world but it was his second home. He was on the floor plucking his bass when Billie Joe sat down next to him, Mike could tell that Billie Joe wanted to ask him something so he took out the boring part of Billie Joe squirming by saying "What do'ya wanna ask me?"
"I wanna know something about that girl Katie" Billie Joe replied
"What about her?" Mike asked
"Why do you find her so annoying?" Billie Joe asked
"She just is has been for the past 15 years, she's embarrassed me so much its not funny and she somehow has a crush on me" Mike answered
"So what? My family friends are annoying, heck I wanna kill them sometimes but I don't drag them out of somewhere and embarrass them back and refuse to try to be friends with them" Billie Joe told his best friend
"I'll give her a try, I'm seeing her later anyway I'm going round to hers for something from her mum to mine" Mike said
Katie was late from school 'cause of her detention and was already pissed off. She saw Mike in her living room he weakly smiled and waved, she just glared at him in an evil way and stomped upstairs to her room and she started drawing on her bed. Mike came up and leaned against her wall and said "Hi"
Katie was too mad to care she liked him and said "Go away"
"Look sorry about earlier I was in the wrong" Mike apologised
"Don't care, I was late for school got a detention and in my first lesson got a full day detention with the person I hate sitting next to her and had to stay extra for the first one, my day has sucked now go away" Katie shouted
"Okay I'll go" Mike said turning round and starting to walk until he heard Katie crying her eyes out, he came in and sat next to her and held out his arms and she hugged him tightly.
