When they arrived Billie Joe went up to his mum and said," Mommy, is it okay if my friend Amy stays for dinner?"
"Sure," she replied, looking at Amy." Hey sweetie, so you're Amy then?" Amy nodded shyly, and Billie Joe interrupted by saying," Is it okay if we go upstairs until dinner's ready mom?" Okay hun, I'll call you when dinner's ready... Oh Amy, is veggie lasagne okay?" Amy nodded, and Billie Joe dragged her out of the kitchen." Can I just call my mom?" she asked." Sure, here's the phone," said Billie Joe, handing her the cordless phone. She silently dialled her home number, and waited for her mum to pick up." Hello?" said her mum." Mommy, is it okay if I have dinner at Billie Joe's tonight?" asked Amy." Who's Billie Joe, darling?" replied Amy's mum." He's my friend... So is it okay?" asked Amy." Sure honey, I'll pick you up around 7:30, okay?" Okay mommy, see you later." Bye honey!"
Amy looked at Billie Joe." She said it's okay, and she's gonna pick me up at 7:30." WOOHOO!" Billie Joe yelled. Amy looked at him in surprise." Sorry," he said, blushing." It's okay," said Amy. Billie Joe led her upstairs to his bedroom. She whistled as she went inside." Wow!" she breathed. His room had loads of cool posters of bands such as the Ramones. Amy loved the Ramones-her dad played them all the time." I like your posters," she said, and Billie Joe looked at her and widened his eyes in surprise." YOU like the Ramones too?" he asked." I love them! My mom and dad play them all the time!" said Amy, smiling at him.
"Can I tell you something?" Billie Joe asked her." Sure," replied Amy." Um... This is gonna be hard to say but... But... But, um..."
"Take your time Billie," said Amy patiently, and grabbed his hand." Well... If we were older... I'd ask you... To... To... To... Be my girlfriend!" Billie Joe said the last part all in a rush, and Amy stared at him." Really?" she asked with a perfectly straight face." Yeah," he mumbled, looking at his feet." Well... If we WERE older... I would say yes!" said Amy slowly and quietly. Billie Joe looked at her, and a huge smile spread across his face." Really?" he said." Sure."
Billie Joe hugged her tightly in the middle of his room, and then his mom called"BILLIE, AMY, DINNER'S READY!"
"Coming!" they called back, and ran down the stairs hand in hand.
***5 years later***
"Hey, wanna come over to mine later?" Amy asked." Sure, I'd love to," said Billie Joe. It was lunch, and Amy and Billie Joe were sitting together in the canteen, along with Cat, Chloe and a guy called Mike who was Cat's boyfriend. Billie Joe and Amy were now going out, and had been for about 2 years now. It was amazing to see how in love they were." Hey guys, you're so in love you even bring the same lunch every day!" Chloe joked. Billie Joe and Amy looked down in surprise-they both had veggie lasagne, and the day before they'd both had carrots, cucumber and dip." What do you do, call each other and agree to bring the same for lunch every day?" joked Cat." Um.. No!" said Amy. Billie Joe smiled at her as she started eating." What?" she asked him, holding a forkful over the container it was in." I was just thinking how cute you look today, and every day!" he replied with a twinkle in his clear emerald eyes." Awwww, baby. YOU look cute every second of every day." she said back. Chloe and Cat looked at each other and rolled their eyes as if to say"Barf fest or what?".
"So, when you come over you'll need your sleeping stuff, you're staying over at my house tonight to keep me company while my parents are away," said Amy to Billie Joe as she opened her smoothie. Cat looked up from her lunch-that had got her interest." How long are they away for?" she asked." Um... A month, I think. Billie Joe's gonna stay over though, most night, to keep me company."
"Why don't you have a party one night?" Chimed in Mike, who had been very quiet this meal." NO WAY!" Amy said loudly." I'm having B. J over and he's the only one who's allowed, okay?"
"But Amy..."
"I said Billie..."
"Yeah, yeah, we know, Billie's the only one." said Chloe." Jeez, can we all just get on with our lunches now please?" Eating resumed, and Amy thought to herself," Maybe I will have a party... But if I do my parents will flip. And they'll flip if they find out I'm letting Billie Joe sleep over too. Oh no, what shall I do?" She poked absentmindedly at her lasagne while the others laughed and joked around her.
