I sat on the couch next to Billie. I don't know why but I just felt like hugging him.
"Are you fine, Sarah?" Billie asked. A tear dropped down my face.
"We need to leave today." I said.
"Really? That's bad. But we also have some dates this afternoon. Do you think you can at least stay till then?" Billie asked.
"Yeah, I think so."
"Hey, what do you want to do? We still have four hours left, so lets do something." he said.
"Yeah" I wiped away my tears. "Let's eat an ice." I proposed. "Yeah, lets go." he said.
"Tré, you wanna come too?" Billie asked him.
"Nah, I saw this girl on the way here so I guess I'll go check what she's up to." Tré said with a smile.
"OK then. I don't think Mike and Mel will join us so let's go alone." Billie said.
"Wait Billie, do you have a t-shirt for me that might suit me? I look like shit." I asked.
"Yeah, I think I have. And no, you don't look like shit. You look beautiful." he said looking through his suitcase.
"How about that one?" he showed me a simple black t-shirt. "Yeah, I like it."
He gave it to me and I put it on. "Billie, could you please turn around?" "Oh, yeah, sorry" he said with a smile.
"You ready?" he asked. "Yeah I am. Just let me talk to Mel first. " I said.
Then I knocked at Mikes door. "Mel?" I asked. "Yeah, what's up?" "Can I talk to you for a second?" "Yeah sure. Wait. I'm coming."
She came out of the room and looked at me. "So, what's going on?" "Mel, you know we need to leave today." "What? Leave?" "Mel, what were you thinking? Stay here forever? The guys have some dates this afternoon and will probably leave tonight for another city." "Fuck" she said. "I know, Mel. I hate it, too. Let's make the best of it." "Yeah, you know what Sarah? I think I love Mike. I don't want to loose him." "I know. I feel the same about Billie. But I know we will see them again." I gave her a hug and said "Billie and I are out till afternoon. See you then."
Then I called Billie and we walked out of the hotel. There was a park next to the hotel so we thought we could see if there is any ice cream parlour. Billie pulled me closer to him as we walked and wrapped his arms around my shoulder. "I don't want to loose you Sarah" he said. "Billie, I don't want to loose you either." I responded. We found an ice cream parlour and sat down. We both ordered a huge ice and started talking about our lives. "I've just finished school. I don't know yet what I'll do after that. I want to relax a little bit. Having a job every now and then to be able to stay alive." I said with a smile. "I don't want to study yet. Maybe in a year. "
"That's cool." he said. "You know what I have an idea. Tonight we fly to Paris and after that to London. But then we have a month off. And since you said you want to relax you could do it with me in California." he said.
"Wow, that's cool!" I said.
"So you would do it?" he asked
"Yeah, I'd love to." I said smiling.
"Great" he leaned in and kissed me on the cheek.
"But wait Billie. I can't do it." I said.
"What? Why?" he asked a little worried.
"Billie, you are married!"
"Ahm, no, didn't you know? We broke up two months ago." he said a little sad.
"Oh I'm sorry. But why?"
"It just didn't work out anymore. We were fighting a lot."
"And your kids?" I asked.
"They live with Adrienne. But she promised me that I can see them anytime." he smiled. "So, will you come to California?"
"Yeah, I'd love too." I said and kissed him on the lips.
When we were finished eating he paid for us and we walked through the park and sat on a bench.
"I'm really excited Billie. I've never been in America before." I said.
"You'll love it. It's a great country." he said and took my hand.
"You know what Billie, I have an idea. Do you think Mel can join us? She could stay with Mike." I said.
"Yeah, that's cool. I really think they like each other a lot." he said.
"Me too." I said. "And I really like you Billie."
"I also like you a lot Sarah, I mean a lot." ha said and kissed me. "In fact I love you."
