I want to be on TV / the fabulous fantasy life of Hesta, chapter 13

Someone at the forum that night had came up to Harry and offered us a place supporting a local band called 'Eva mono Desu'. The amazing thing is - that's my big brother's band!

His band had been rehearsing for this for weeks; Ben (my brother) had made CDs of his band's album and his solo work. He was selling for three pounds each and had even recruited people to help out at the stall. It made me and my band feel inferior.
So we practised till our fingers bled, and then got told that we had a whole half hour to fill, so we made a new set list and practised some more. In total we decided on seven songs, it would be the longest set list we'd ever attempted playing and we only had two weeks to perfect it. What didn't help my concentration was Stokell constantly hugging and brushing past me. He even dropped hints at regular intervals.

"What's that bit of that song you were just singing"
"Echoing coldly"
"Sing it to me" he purred
"... When I see your face,
I know how you feel,
Cause you feel the same way I feel about you... "
"Hmmmm... It makes good sense"

I loved every minute of his attention. He was of those people that could make you feel wanted and loved without even trying. I loved every minute.

Ben and me sat discussing the gig, two nights before the big day,

"You do realise scouts will be there"
"Scouts?"
"Record company people and local radio presenters"
"Really?!"
"Yeh, that's why I'm making the CDs, I've got a chance of being heard on radio"
"Does my band have a chance?"
"Possibly"
"WOW!"

I rang Stokell straight away even though it was getting late. This was going to be way more professional than I had expected.

"Stokell?"
"Yeh, hi"
"There'll be record company people there!"
"What? Make sense"
"At the gig there will be people from the music industry"
"You're kidding"
"Nope"
"I'll ring Harry"
"What are we going to do?"
"Um... Dress to impress"
"Don't I always do that?"
"Well you impress me"

I was grinning my head off,
"I guess we should just keep practising and not freak out"
"Okay, can do"
"You're so collected"
"So are you"
"... We have quite a few similarities"

I really don't get him sometimes..

"Is there something you want to tell me?" I asked suggestively
"No, why?"
"No reason"
"Okay, goodnight"
"Night"

"Bye"
"Bye"

We both hung up simultaneously. It was like we were connected.
